Preflop: Hero is BB with J K
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.48, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.32

Flop: ($1.04) 8 6 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.64, Hero folds

Preflop: It's not a standard call, but I made it this time.

Flop: Generally, is this situation good enough for check/calling or bluff check/raising against an unknown. I think I like check/raising there.

Heh, it is not a standard call, but I made it this time and...guess what? I got in an awkward situation where I lost money... :)
Do not do that if you do not have a clue how to play it postflop.

I had a reason for calling. The opponent plays something like 90/80, but just a couple of hands. But that doesn't matter in this case. Would just like to get an opinnion of how to generally play this hand on this board on the flop because it seems to me like a good spot for check/raising.

What does it matter how you would play this hand postflop if your preflop play is a mistake?
You did not mention stats for villain. Now that you did I think you should 3 bet pre-flop.
