Yeah, I do tell them. Lately I have been trying to convince them I'm a bounty hunter, I just think it's funny.

But if they keep asking I tell them 'i play poker for a living' and watch how the 'oh fuck this guy's a degen gambler' look sets in lol. Before they get to say something I usually verbalize what they're thinking and that kinda disarms them, something like 'yeah I know how that's perceived and that it sounds kinda weird'.
Anyway, never been a dealbreaker or a serious issue (just with my mom lol), some are intrigued, some are whatever, some are like 'srong move bro, bright future ahead!'.

As random fun memories, one time a girl kept insisting 'oh online poker cool, I heard of someone playing that, but what do you REALLY do for a living? Like where else do you get the money to live?'.
Another one after not hearing anything from my part for a couple of weeks, after contacting her she said 'oh I really thought you went to jail for something illegal, I knew that poker story couldn't be true, I mean come on, just hang around my house doing nothing all day?'

Haha fun memories.

Sup playaz, figured might as well start posting some more updates, personal blogging style.

My overall daily goals
> play 5h
> study 2h
> gym
> Meditate

I started off today with the intention to really focus on my work. I think I did a pretty good job of that, kinda at 82% (yep, that precise). My dissatisfaction comes from going to bed late again (it's 4AM) was going to go earlier, but hadn't put no study in today so I decided that will be more important than going to bed early only to fuck up my schedule on another night.

Gym - went at 10pm to work some chest and tri's. Struggled a bit to bench 8x80kg which kinda surprised me (my max is 3x110kg). Moving on to incline dumbells, also noticed I was a bit exhausted, weird. Today I improvised on chest flies, so I put a bench between the cables and did cable flies lying down, pretty strong exercise.

Poker
So here we go, I played 5hrs of zoom today (NL50 and NL100), also finished platinum for the month. Studied for about 1,5hrs which is good, watched the latest Uri Peleg vid which gave me some stuff to think about (the main problem for me right now is that I can work on SO much stuff that it paralyzes me lol). The main takeaway from the vid was really knowing your range in each spot, so you can have easy decisions. For example, when bluffcatching he thinks where he is in his range and compares that to the busted draws the opponent could have - easy to understand, takes a while to apply.

I also ran some crEV sims of some hands I marked, which helped me understand a possible major problem of mine - the way I perceive ranges - I think I overestimate their bluffing range and underestimate my defending range.

The way I perceive my game is that it's pretty strong overall and the only thing stopping me from having a good winrate is I feel like I leak money in some spots. I am now motivated to keep marking hands and review my range in certain spots.

Another thing I intend to work on is barreling OOP.

I guess it was about time to post something poker related lol. Had a losing month but we will not talk about that and maybe it will go away.

Offtopic stuff - I also did some chores (skrill related, translating an e-mail) and had a friend over for a bit who was a bit down, kinda pumped him up which felt good.

Everytime I decide to write a blogpost it ends up 5x longer than I had expected, fml, Writer of the Gods. :pcuser:

Well, off to meditation and sleep. Building the habit back up (meditation, not sleeping:pokerface: ).

Until next time,
Daniel SoF

Sup playa playaz

Just woke up and figured I make a life update on a few things I was getting thru my head these last few days.

Psycho Grindin'
Over the past couple of days I proved to myself I have what it takes to grind hardcore, which is a real confidence boost, did one day where I continuously streamed and grinded for 12h straight!

^ my rekd face in the morning, after the whole session
Yesterday played / streamed for almost 7h. The common denominator is streaming, it really keeps me engaged/motivated, I think because of the social aspect of it.

Now I feel like all I have to do is really work hard on my game and then just grind awayyy (not happy with my game right now).
As an approach, I wanna take concepts and really drill them down in my unconscious competence.

I don't feel guilty anymore about not doing other 'fun' activities and I can fully embrace the Dark Ages of Grinding (will release the vid on this one of these days). My priorities are aligned and I have accepted that this is the best I can do with my life right now.

On the more social/streaming side - ppl respect you when you do something they wouldn't do (eg 12h session). Other valuable feedback is ppl appreciate my positive vibes.

Health
Looks like the last couple of days have taken their toll on my body and I can see now why it is important to keep your life somewhat balanced, take breaks, eat healthy etc.

Well, I'm off since I have to grind for the day so cya!

Booyakasha!

First of all, I'm finally done posting up a new vid, these mofo's take so long to shoot and edit (kinda perfectionist).
This is the second installment of my Work Hard Play Hard Series - I talk about diving 100% into poker, also touch on how you can have conflicting beliefs that hold you back from your goals and propose to join forces on Project Powerhouse.

I am still new at this content producing stuff - so I would really appreciate if u dropped a quick line of honest feedback on what you think about the vid.

Project Powerhouse - Enter the Dark Age
After having a very mediocre first half of 2015 in Poker, I had to admit to myself that the pace I'm currently on is not enough, so I've decided to go full hustle mode for an indeterminate period.

I was watching a Tai Lopez (successful entrepreneur) vid earlier where he was talking about the scientific method of improving on an area - in broad steps it's you ask yourself a question, you document, come up with a hypothesis, you experiment for 1-3 months and after that analyze to see how it worked out.

So I was seems like I'm applying this to poker, this is so obvious and simple. Fortunately, on the other areas of my life (family, health, gym, girls, friends) I have very good situations and I am very grateful for that.

1. Ask a question: How can I improve at poker faster?
2. Document: I unconsciously did this over the past few months - from the top pro's the answer seems to be a total immersion where you disregard anything else - basically spending the entirety of your days on poker for period of time. This seems to be true for business as well.
3. Hypothesis: Going all-in on poker will make you unhappy - this is what I had in the back of my mind - I will be unhappy if I stop doing other stuff besides poker aka this vague term of 'enjoying life' - although never tried to see if it's true
4. Experiment 1-3 months: In Progress - started 1st July

This is where I'm at right now, I really want to see how putting my all into poker affects my mind, my game, my life. For the record, until now I feel like I've been putting 70% into it, but it just doesn't appear to be enough. I have a slight hunch that it will not be that bad. I figured out a hack for my social needs - livestreaming on twitch - I saw that interacting there fills that social hole. Also after that, put in some 7h, 8,5h grinding days without too much effort.

My mind still is not fully on my side on this, since it's summer and I 'should be having fun'. I already started the whole experiment on 1st of July with my spontaneous 12 hour non-stop grind and stream - it was one of the most epic things I did in my life.

Other activities
I will only engage in stuff that will improve my poker performance - going to the gym, meditating, eating healthy. The girls aspect/interactions will be kept on the minimum (sorry brahs). As for other distractions (facebook, youtube, watsapp, etc) will be nonexistent at least in the first part of my day.

Call for arms - Powerhouse Alliance
Most of all, if anyone else feels like he's in the same spot - poker/hustling is the main thing he should be focusing on right now and wants to embark on this epic journey, is free to leave a comment below and let's fucking crushhhhh :fuckyeah:
We can grind together while I livestream, report how you're doing here/in your own thread - I think it makes this grind more enjoyable and fun.

Puttin' the hours in. Felt like running good / playing good - so as long as that goes on now I wanna go all out and play as much as I can. Put in a 2h30m session on stream and a 6h30m session later in the evening (9h total for the day - dem math skillz). Once again, taking a ~1h nap before my evening session proves so useful to staying focused.
The interesting thing is I've never felt so fueled to grind so much. Maybe removing the resistance from my mind (stopped wanting to also do other things besides poker) really makes a big difference. Feeling that I'm running good is another factor I think - the old mantra of 'if you're doing good fucking die on that chair and don't get up'. Also, realizing poker is not here forever and getting some urgency from that.
Watching high consciousness videos on the side is also powerful for putting in the long hours. This is the one I watched a couple of times, some very key lessons there

I kinda neglected taking breaks (6h30m session of GG), and eating (i'm starving right now) but I guess there has to be a price.
I didn't really do anything else than grind today, but it was efortless.

Well, the main purpose of this post is to give myself props for stepping up so hard and keep up the hustler ambition. :challenge:

Hustle on,
Daniel SoF

Sup playerinhos

Tonight I went to play some live poker for the 1st time in about a year, there is a cash game festival coming soon (could be +EV) and I wanted to get used to the live feel. I really expected to crush everyone with my superior skillz, didn't really go like that.
To be honest, the game really sucked, was at a table full of nits/nitfish. Didn't expect it to be that bad. I did have a fish at the table for a while though, but he was across from me.

Bad nooz
:spade: the game is so slow
:spade: hard to get in a HU pot
:spade: have to hand select somewhat with so many players at the table
:spade: being used to so much action (online) you really get the urge to spew

Overall I only think it's good when there is a good game running, when getting bored of grinding online etc.
Main lesson is to sitout when fish is gone. Dude, you cannot outplay a table full of 8 guys that don't really fold and are tight.

What I think I did well is staying solid for most of the session, resisting the urge to go out of line. Also, waiting for decent spots to sqz pre and make plays. Eg sqzed 45s from SB over 4players, got HU, and cB of GG on ATTr took it down.

Yeah, I got rekd after fish left, I kept looking for action, ended the session -1.5BI -- stakes is kinda NL50 so no biggie.

May try it out again tomorrow night who knows.

Stay solid,
Daniel SoF

Thanks Zoltan, feedback like yours keeps me motivated to keep going on this blog. This is my main purpose with my blog / livestream. Live a sick life and inspire others to do the same.
Lately it feels like no one else is reading this so I am kinda thinking why post anymore.

Since you play NL200 online playing 1-2 ron live it's quite -EV imo, I suggest to go and play at Platinum 10-10, very juicy games and the regs are so so weak, Katamax probably is the best of them, at least at this stakes, higher at 10-20+ you'll see Fisherman and Andrei Stoenescu sometimes.
I know live is very boring but you can bring a tablet or smartphone with you and play some games instead of being tempted to play marginal hands

PS: very nice initiative with the video :appl:, stay tuned for the weekly news about BR :pcuser:

thanks for ur message teddy, I agree to the 1-2 ron stake. I am going to play some 5/5 tonight, there could be some good games, will see how it goes. Btw I now play NL100  after dowswinging 200.
The tablet idea is quite good, I think I'm bringing my kindle so I can read some stuff while I play, seems +EV.

Live Poker is DEAD to me

I'm going on a bit of a rant here, brace yourselves.
So after going to the casino across the street 2 days ago only to play FR on the worst table ever, I get my hopes up for today. Fucking poker club promotes big ass event - go and expect israeli fish, right? Game is kinda 120E buy-in. Find table full of nitregs and 1 israeli fish. And prepare to get rekd.

Back when I had a decent stack

1. Decent reg to my right - saw me 3b Q2s vs him, aggro dynamic, I 3b/5b QQ SBvsBTN for 120bb, calls KK.

Spoiler

Proposes to run it 3 times. I accept.

Spoiler

Hit no Q on 3 boards

2. Big 50bb pot OTF 5way get it in on the flop set vs NFD and random preflop shorty all in w/ a BDFD

Spoiler

both hit a flush

3. Next hand, call straddle pre with AKo 30bb, get calls behind and a raise, I ship, called by KK

Spoiler

Flop?

Spoiler

K♠:8♦:3♣:

Bonus round: Had a bunch of draws that all miss OTR after investing a lot on Flop and Turn getting good pot odds.

Spoiler

Overall I am satisfied with how I played, I would rather have not ran this bad, but what can u do but get rekd son. Stack kept fluctuating, at one point had 300bb. Quit session after losing all my chips on AKo hand. Playing at a table with 7 nitregs and 1 fish <100bb is not my thing. There are simply too many of these live regs grindin' this thing.

Played for 6h. Ended up -3BI (~320Euro), no biggie.

I do realize how butthurt I sound. It's only because I am. Whatevs' fuck live play online srs go to bed and cri evertim.

Yours truly,
Daniel 'rekd' SoF
