WHAT THE ... !!! Caltabiano is here
First things first: I am not a bearded monkey anymore. The beard only happened due to the come I suffered from the failed acupuncture experiment. Now that I'm back, here I am.
How have you guys been? I hope everyone is crushing the tables and getting lots of money from the lesser players. 
My brother has already explained the romantic moment when we found out together that we were a bit tired of working just for the money.
I've mentioned a few times here about my dream of living in the country and working the land and all that. But I have always been waiting for something before I could achieve that dream.
So I decided it was time to be more active about it. I started taking permaculture courses: I've learnt a bit about agroforestry, natural buildings and permaculture design methods.
These courses have made me really happy. I've met some awesome people and learnt some really cool stuff.
Right now, I'm doing some voluntary work at a farm, for learning purposes. I spend the whole week there just planting and come back to the city for the weekends. It's being a really awesome experience! It's a little taste of my long wanted dream and it came much sooner than I expected!
Planting is simply an awesome experience. I strongly advise you, if you've never planted anything to plant a tree ASAP. Just get whatever fruit you just ate and plant the seeds wherever you want. When you see the little shoot sprouting, you will feel life.
I wish I had some pictures to post of the place where I am working. It's incredibly awesome! I'll make sure I take some in the upcoming weeks, so I can post here.
The coolest thing is that the money I saved up through poker now allows me not to work for several months and I can spend my time doing voluntary work with the intention of learning before I can actually get my living off the land
Working the the Holistic Self Improvemet project has also been an awesome experience. It's motivating me a lot to really work on myself in various different aspects and to study a lot of stuff I had already "decided" to study a long time ago, but never really did anything about it, such as meditation (Tommy Angelo ftw! He gave me all the tips of where to study meditation)
So I'm very happy with my poker results at the moment

As a child I used to plant lots of apple seeds and hold them in flower pots in my room :). One is giving 100 apples a year atm :tongue:. But planting is been a long time ago

Yo people! What's up here in the poker business? I myself am going to get back to the tables and try to ship some pots =D
Dollar hit 4 monies here in Brazil, so in a chat with my brother, we realised that playing poker could be especially +EV at this time. So we're thinking of some crazy intensive grinding with specific bankroll goals, starting from the good old $50 or $60.
I will make a more complete post soon, cause right now I don't have the time. I really just want to say hello again to all you grinders and that I'm happy to be back.
Also, I'd like to ask some questions:
- I don't know how the poker rooms are nowadays... So, can you people who are more active give me some advice on which poker rooms are good for grinding? Preferably one which has a good rakeback deal.
- What's the average hands/h in FR and SH? (After 5 years, we tend to forget such things =P) I need to now this so I can estimate potential winnings, so that I set achievable goals.
I think that's about it or now, I have some errands to run right now, but will shortly make a more complete post, and explain exactly what's my plan of grinding. Will join the Get rich or Die trying challenge, and maintain this blog updated. Will try to update it at least once a week.

Yeah, Brazil takes the lead (or the bottom?) in dollar valuation this year; Colombia comes as 2nd place, so I also came back

Stars has a near monopoly after they buyed Full Tilt. The other rooms don't have many traffic at least in NL100+, so I think there are only 2 choices: 1) Multi-Lobby, as in play in different rooms table selecting a lot or 2) Play stars.
No one plays for the rakeback anymore I think (but with huge volume stars keep winning, supernova is like 35-40% rakeback, less than that could be aout 20%)

About 50 FR, 60-70 SH.

Not that i know of. It would be really helpful if there was a way, I find the pokerstrategy video player very very bad: laggy, sometimes the video stops but the voice continues, I can't speed up the video, it's really awful tbh, I feel like if I was in the past century before youtube

So, first of all, thanks for the info Volrath. I guess I'll go for stars, and try to take advantage of the first deposit bonus. I'm gonna start with a $50 BR, but I guess I could deposit more than $50 to get more bonus, but then play with a $50 BR and pretend the rest is not there.
Alright speedfanatic, I will explain what happened in the past 5 years
So, I left poker in 2010, year in which I started getting interested in permaculture and felt a need to be more in contact with nature. For a couple of years (thanks to my poker winnings) I was to travel around a bit to some very nice places, spend some time working in organic farms as a volunteer, learn a little bit about producing food, and get more contact with nature. I went to the south of Brazil, to the Amazon, to the northeast, to the high lands of Minas Gerais, to the Cocoa farms in Bahia.
During this time it became very clear in my mind that I wanted to live in the country, and not in the city. I wanted to produce my own food... that's the best way to get real quality nutrition. Apart from that, I wanted to learn to live REAL life, and when I say real life I'm talking about all those basic things that we need to live: food, housing, water, social interaction (with people AND animals and plants). When you live in the city, you need to earn money to get your needs fulfilled. When you live in the country, you have the opportunity to fulfill your needs. And thus, today, I plant most of my food, I have to make sure that the water comes from the fountain to my house, I'm starting to build my own furniture with wood I harvested in the woods, I raise some chicken for eggs and meat, and surprisingly enough, in the country, there's more social interaction than in the city. It's funny, in the city, you see hundreds of people everyday, but you don't even exchange a glance with 99% of them. In the country, you don't see that many people, but everybody is friendly towards each other, it's a completely different interaction. For me, THAT is real. It's the real planet we live in, not the crazy frenetic society we created on top of it. I'm not saying that modern society is bad, not at all, there are many good things in it, it's just that it chooses to isolate itself from the planet, and I think that's a big mistake which we need to fix. I believe man has to reconsider his approach to dealing with resources and to deal with his own technology. Technology is meant to increase our potential as a species (not in the sense of overpowering other species though), and definitely not to render us dependent on scarce resources. Anyway, I'm not going too deep into this, because this is a poker blog afterall =P
Anyways, today I live in a small farm, off which I live, producing most of my food like I said, and I produce some food conserves and fresh vegetables for a little income to pay for the little expenses I have. And I LOVE this work, so I'm definitely not coming back to poker because I want to quit my job. I'm coming back to poker because I see in it an opportunity to gather resources for further investments in the land.
Oh yeah, I'm also studying agronomy.
I will, as I post here in this blog, talk more about the lifestyle in the country, post pics of my place and the work I develop there. But now, let's go to poker!
First of all, I'm gonna start with a $50 BR (will join the Get rich or die tryin' challenge) and use an agressive BR management up to NL50. The idea is to move up at 12 BI for the new limit, and move down at 16BI of the lower limit.
At the moment, I don't have a lot of time to play, because of the work in the farm and school. But I'm decided to put in 8h a week, 2h for study and 6h for playing. That'll one afternoon/night a week that I'm able to invest now. When vacation comes I'm gonna invest one full week for grinding and that week is gonna be the real challenge. It'll probably happen in the end of november/beginning of december. The weekly sessions I'll do until then will serve me only to increase BR and regain experience. My goal is to treat myself with a nice Christmas present of some $300 while leaving at least $500 in my poker account to continue grinding. The money I make from poker has already a specific use in my farm: improvements in infrastructure.
So, here's how it'll work:
Platform of choice: Pokerstars
Initial Bankroll: $50 (though I will deposit more than $50, in order to take advantage of deposit bonus, will play as if I had only $50 in my account)
Initial limit: NL5 (will start a bit more aggressively, knowing that I have the bonus to release to give me a little hand in case of a crappy start)
Number of tables: 12, SH NL
Hands played goals: >> 4,2k/week (30th of october - 27th of november) >> total of 21k hands
>> 35k in the intensive grinding week (date to be confirmed)
>> After that: we'll see.
BR Goals: >> $190 by the end of november
>> $1000 by the end of the intensive week. (I was gonna set it at $900, but changed it to $1000 to make sure I participate in the "Get rich or Die trying" challenger
I'm considering a winrate of 10bb/100 hands at the micros. Now, I'm gonna have to study to make sure I maintain that.
Ok, now all that's left for me to do is download pokerstars and find a way to deposit some money in my neteller account. It used to be hard for us brazilians to do that, but it's apparently easier now. So hopefully next friday I'll be back with news on my first grinding day

And I was always very lazy to do those boring works, it was not enough load for my mind I guess and also I like just click buttons and make money ♦
of course for planning economy of farm, there is lot to think what to do, and worst thing is that you need to deal with those alcoholics if you want to hire workers. Or to get good workers you have to pay a lot, but my parents choose to have alcoholics, because it looks weird that you have to pay who knows what amount to get good people, maybe same or more than to people who have bachelors, especially for them it does not make sense to pay such salaries for people who are not having high education.
Btw what was your brother doing? Also farming?

Thats pretty cool to hear. I guess we are lucky that there are all sorts of people in the world, right? =D Here Im actually lucky to have a couple of neighbours who are very trustworthy and who I can hire from time to time to help me out.
My brother is studying medicine! He's crazy! He will probably post here sometime in the next couple of months, and he might come back again on his vacation.
