Hi guys,
Kingardo in here, I hope you having a good day :f_thumbsup:

PokerStars - €0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 119.5 BB (VPIP: 19.71, PFR: 8.03, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 142)
SB: 127.5 BB (VPIP: 71.43, PFR: 14.29, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 7)
Hero (BB): 103 BB
UTG: 86.5 BB (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 4)
MP: 197.5 BB (VPIP: 50.00, PFR: 50.00, 3Bet Preflop: 50.00, Hands: 4)
CO: 48 BB (VPIP: 6.25, PFR: 6.25, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 16)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♥ K♥

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, CO calls 3 BB, BTN calls 3 BB, fold, fold

So my question is the following: do you thing a call in this situation is a good move? Pot odds if I´m not wrong are 2:12, when should we call thinking to get something in the flop? I´m talking about those speculative hands, like that KQs, maybe ATs+, 22+, 76s+, try to get a monster or fold, do you thing is it a good idea when you are starting?

The Big Stack Begginer Strategy says to call to as much as *4BB raise from the CU, BTN or SB, with JJ-22, AQs-ATs, AQo, KQs.

Maybe I shouldn´t worry for that?

Anyway, thanks in advance.

I prefer to squeeze in this situation. We are suited, we have blockers, we have decent playability.

We have K and Q in our hand so our opponents have less combinations of strong hands like KK, QQ, AQ or AK in his range.

Yes, we decrease the possibility that our opponent has KK, QQ, AK, AQ. But this does not hecannot have these... :)

p.s. I prefer to squeeze as we will be out of position postflop and I prefer to have the initiative too.

We could squeeze it as nitrol said (meaning 3bet bigger when there is a raiser and a caller preflop) but I think just calling is ok too. wjd1990 explained blockers pretty well. Basically it means that when we have a K and a Q, it is less likely for villain to have one.

This is an ideal situation for a call. (Folding is criminal.) Squeezing is pretty bad because you will virtually never take it down preflop against 3 players already in, you'll instead pretty much every time be facing tough postflop decisions out of position whether you hit a pair or not (if you don't you usually have K high). Squeezing costs some 15bb, a call costs 2bb. If the preflop opener calls, the rest are likely to follow like little lambs (pot odds). This is probably to prefer before having only one caller due to the nature of your hand.

What I am saying is that KQs isn't a value raise 4-handed OOP. It has an element of bluff. That element of bluff doesn't succeed often enough.

We are vs all late positions. Our squeeze will win this preflop enough times.

this is villian dependent if there is a fish in the hand (that calls with a very wide range) then i like a squeeze to isolate the fish.
if you have no reads, then flatting is good as you have a hand that you can try to make a big hand with post flop, as QKs plays very well multiway, and has great implied odds with 3 villians in the hand. :f_drink:

And how much is "enough times" do you think?

Some math: Say, for simplicity, that each opponent will fold 75% of their range (independently). The probability that they all fold would then be (3/4)(3/4)(3/4) = 27/64. This is far from autoprofit since you need much more than 50% folds for that (about 15bb into a 10bb pot for a squeeze).

What about 80% folds individually and independently?
(4/5)(4/5)(4/5) = 64/125
Now we are getting closer, but we aren't quite there. But we are also getting unrealistic. See what I mean?

For a beginner I think Yohan's math holds up pretty well. A squeeze here also really is a much tougher way to start the pot. Only likely to be profitable if you know what kind of opponents you are facing and judge your ability to outplay them post flop to be good.
