Hello,

IPoker, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $2.47 (123.5 bb)
Hero (BB): $3.77 (188.5 bb)
UTG: $2.24 (112 bb)
MP: $1.10 (55 bb)
CO: $1.23 (61.5 bb)
BTN: $3.71 (185.5 bb) [VPIP,21.00: PFR,17.00: Hands-29]

Preflop: Hero is BB with A K
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.08, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.24, MP folds, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.36

Flop: ($1.23) 6 3 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.61, Hero calls $0.61

Turn: ($2.45) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($2.45) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.45, Hero folds

PreFlop - I 3Bet a ROL from the BU, he 4Bets back to me and I decide to call

Flop - I Flat Call his CBet
Turn - I decide to x/f as I think I am already beat when he bets
River - At this point, and given that he has check behind OTT, the unique hand that came to my mind that he could be holding is AK. So, I wonder whether if I could try to steal the pot as he had showed weakness, until I run out of the time bank, I sit out, he bets and I my hand is, sadly, automatically folded

Do you think I should have either fold or push PreFlop?, How would you have played the hand PostFlop?, please feel free to comment anything you want

Thank you

4bet almost always means Aces, but it's really hard to fold AK suited.

I mean, you played it as best you could after the flop, but I would have folded.

You could have simply get your chips shoved pre. Anyway, as played, basically i'd go for bluff on the river since he checked the turn and we could expect him to continue barreling if improved with flush draw but it's nl2 were talkin' about and keeping it as simple as possible is reasonable.

60 bbs in the pot otf most of which was x/c oop with no pair no draw. this is not a good move.

if you're 3betting AKs vs the button I would say getting it all in when you are 4bet pf is mandatory, you have the best unpaired hand, but you need to see the whole board to realise your equity.

I think you have choices here. You don't have a large sample on villain, however, seems he is quite tight. You can opt in for calling as you did and on this type of board try to steel and fold out his high Ax hands OTR (reason is the Q :spade: gives him only opportunities to raise with a better hand, i.e. with an A♠ and JJ+ without any spade). Right now we don't know whether villain had maybe QQ or AQ+ (that most probably would fold). I do believe on the long run you will make a profit by investing some. If you are highly confident that this player is tight with postflop play, then you made a good decision since he will have the goods most of the time.

Hi guys,

Another question related to a similar situation AKs-AKo, in NL2.

I've got AKs and AKo My sample sice is a joke, around 35-40 of those, but I'm getting the feeling that when I 3-Bet 4-Bet preflop with hands like those, I'm just called by AA-QQ, AK, that makes me most of the time lose the hand, or split the pot at best (losing the rake) and all the other raised hands fold when I re-raise them.

Just wondering if 3-Bet and 4-Bet, trying to don't get all-in preflop is a better line than shove and find out just QQ, KK or AA, where the equity of AK is not good at all, and try to re-evaluate in the flop??

What do you think?? Maybe I'm overthinking my AK losers??

Thank you all like always,

Not necessarily when 185bb deep.

Yes, I think you are overthinking your AKs. The basic principle is fairly simple; someone who raises 40% of his/her hands doesn't have QQ+ all the time. AK you should 3Bet most of the time to get value, even against a tight nit of with stats of 12/10. You can definitely fold safely if he raises all in (although wouldn't blame you if you didn't) since those people would even flat call QQ regardless the situation.

2004 called and they want their blanket poker strategy statements back. They also said you should avoid going to Indonesia on Boxing Day.

Thanks as always.

I´ve been watching LemOn coaching lesson 4, http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/38986/ and he talked about this AKs-AKo situation too, finding a lot of help around, I´ll keep looking.

I would 5bet shove this pre. As played bluffing OTR is ok. Turn goes check check, I believe if you don't bulff OTR, villain will.

4bet doesn't always mean AA... And yes I think you are overthinking your AKs.

Pre-flop call $ 0.08. The flop does not look good, fold on the flop if opponent raises big bet.

No way we are just calling this pre. There is a limp and open raise from BTN before us. 3bet here.

When we are that deep call is a viable option.
