Calling down is one way to play this. I would have raised OTT. That 66 is definitely unexpected.. You got unlucky :f_cry:

I think he would have done the same with hands like Q9 K9 A9. 2x would not have called pre I think. TT+ would probably have 3-bet preflop. I can't really see much that beats me here.

Raising is a bit loose, imo. Overpairs have 2P too.

The question is: which overpairs don't 3bet pre? Maybe TT, JJ+ definetely not.

He might have x8 as well as x9 even taking card removal effect into account, plus micro players are usually afraid of playing high pairs oop, then you may see them squeezing less likely. The thing with SC is they lose playability if played oop or in single pots. Since you've had him on the right, just c will do the job.

Calling down here isn't bad. I probably would have raised on the flop though and you probably would have taken the pot. You just got unlucky on the river.
