Thanks, man, agreed - transferred 1.24$ river call.

Day 29 (2015.11.20)
Had to call it quits bit earlier - just tired I guess. Bad run keeps on going end results are terrible despite having more calm and focused mentally sessions. Winnings at showdown are around 30-35% - basically can't do anything with the variance. Made good folds, couple of bad calls too - gotta take a break and come back next week.

Hands: 2363 (total 41941) in 2 sessions of 5NL Zoom SH
Overall grade: 7/10
Net: -39.74$ (total +42.26$) but -25.39$ by EV
Bankroll: 141.41$ (+25$ FFPs)

Spoiler

No mood for analysis tonight. So no hands I'm afraid. And what's the point share standard cooler hands? They were just hitting every river and I was lucky to get away some of the time. Whatever, nothing new anyways...

Week 06
I wouldn't say that was unexpected - but still unpleasant nevertheless. It begun shaky again, I still can't say I "beat the limit" because results are so inconsistent. Then at some point I thought I got it - only to find myself three days later in a 12 buy-ins downswing hole. On a bright side though - after having a mentally tough couple of days - I was kinda through it on Friday, more relaxed and calm. The only problem is - it felt hopeless at the tables anyway - when you run bad you run bad, and there's not much you can do about it I guess. W$SD 43% this week is the lowest I had during the challenge.

Here are results and stats, and bankroll challenge report is here.

Played at Zoom 5NL 6 max: 15619 hands
Net result: -47.47$ and -39.78$ by EV
Current bankroll: 141.41$ (+25$ FPPs)

Weekend 06
Main event was Dota 2 Major Frankfurt. Amazing semifinals on Friday and absolutely great games and show overall - the Grandfinals on Saturday. Also spent a lot of time with my family, cooking, playing, having fun, etc - it was nice. Played some videogames too - did everything to avoid thinking about poker. Not too much guitar though, for some reason.

Week 07 is on - let's roll!

Day 30 (2015.11.23)
Made a plan for the day, with watching videos and playing sessions. Stick to it. Almost no tilt or breakdowns despite couple of bad spots. And also ran pretty good. Or was it BECAUSE I ran good? Or vice versa? Still don't get it... Anyways, WTSD 26 and W$SD 50% at last - pretty decent numbers out there. W$WSF was extremely high too - almost 60%, so red line looks like a spaceship taking off. But I guess that's the variance - I've played the cards came, bet a lot and took down pots.

Day 31 (2015.11.24)
Felt a little sick - son brought flu from the school on Friday, was fine on Saturday - but now my wife caught it and looks like I'm getting it too. So had to skip work-out sessions, haven't played any guitar and wasn't playing my best poker neither - but still decent, like a B-game or something. And was running really badly too! On of the sessions started off with 3 stacks lost in 30 hands - during that session I paid off 4 times to AA, lost 2 coin-flips - and on the other hand I had AA myself like 6-7 times - and nothing, got like 40bbs profits total or something. Pretty funny - but the bright side is - didn't really care much nor tilt.

Stats wise I like it too - 26/21 might be bit loose, but WTSD 24% and W$SD 51% are great. Anyways - will play carefully today as well - last week of the month and so far I'm doing fine with the volume plan - but don't want to risk winrate and profits playing more hands sick or anything.

Hands: 3436 (total 48469) in 4 sessions of 5NL Zoom SH

Day 32 (2015.11.25)
A swingy day again, had good positive and profitable sessions at first, then one longer and worse session when I lost it all back and more, and then the last session - absolutely high-flying, A-game, easy-doing, super-positive session with like 5 buy-ins up. Still can't figure out what comes first - the good mood or the good result. WTSD 29% was rather high yesterday, not sure why. And W$SD is just 47%. Most of the profits came with the red line as W$WSF was as high as 56%.

Hands: 2951 (total 51420) in 4 sessions of 5NL Zoom SH
Overall grade: 7.5/10
Net: +19.66$ (total +84.91$) and 16.41$ by EV
Bankroll: 187.11$ (+25$ FFPs)

Still tough environment, taking care of everything in the house, wife is sick, little bit sick myself - no work outs, no basketball and no music yesterday.

Day 33 (2015.11.26)
Things went much smoother yesterday although it was still a tough day in real life. Going through really depressing patch I guess. But poker-wise - it was good. Played just 3 sessions, but really focused and calm. Except the last one where I was fiddling around StarsHelper which I got a trial again - I simply asked the developer and he gave me two more weeks trial for free! Really nice peace of software I have to say - I've set up it so it shows stacks and bets in BBs instead of $$ (I think it will help me to move up in stakes later), shows of my position clearly (and I turned off positions for other players but there's always room for expanding it), shows SPR, Pot odds, effective stacks and also the lines players took prior to current point in the hand. And there are more functions I've been playing with - but still haven't settled down, stuff like hot keys, borderless windows, closing tables when stack size is higher than certain amount, windows stacking, auto-sizing bets and TONS of information on HUD - still going to experiment with those. I also plan to buy it when I hit my next bonus and my trial expires again.

But I was playing good as well. WTSD 23%, W$SD 55% - I know they're bit off in the opposite way now - but I'd prefer this instead of the high WTSD and low W$SD. River call eff is 1.74 - almost the all-time high. Although in one of the videos I watched coach said that this stats is not calculated correctly in HM2. Still it is an indicator even if the exact value is slightly off.

Be careful with starshelper. Pokerstars made changes not that long ago that does no longer allow all of those functions to be used. I can't tell for sure wether the things you've mentioned are still allowed since I don't use it myself, but I'd take a look and ask someone who knows!

Also, I'd hold off on buying a license since if Pokerstars are going to forbid HUD's, it seems quite reasonable that programs such as this one will get the boot as well.

I've asked the developer - he said the current beta version (which I've been using currently) is up-to-date with PokerStars rules. Of course we have no idea what will they change in the future - but I think even if I'm able to use ALL of the current functions for some time and then SOME of those functions will be cut - it's still a good investment. But still - waiting a bit before buying anyway, thanks, vonki :f_thumbsup:

Day 34 (2015.11.27)
That's it, gotta stop it now. Standard Friday fish-fest which I can't handle really. I'm never the one who is on the lucky end of the river - so I hope this makes me not fish at least :f_mad: I just can't explain how does it work - I guess "it's just a variance"... Idiots sitting around me with 3 to 6 buy-ins stack, shoving crap left and right, 3betting with 74s and hitting two pairs, or calling 3bets with Q8s and hitting a flush - yeah, variance, what else.

Especially this last session which in theory should've ended in huge profits. I've been dealt extremely good. Let's see - statistically your going to get AA one time out of 220, right? That means in 1800 that I've played should be what? Like 8 times? I got it dealt 14 times! Add to that 11 times KK... And another 14 times QQ... Yeah, ship it, baby! Right? Wrong... When all the dust settled down I was stuck 7 buy-ins in that session. Did I spew around and did stupid mistakes? Not really - just play your strong hands fast and make sure you're getting all your money in early on before fish gets there. Right? Didn't help. All kinds of better hands they showed me tonight. A real clinic.

So that's why I don't play poker on weekends. I'm really glad for those who are the opposite - waiting for weekends to put in a huge grinding sessions. They have skills that I lack I guess - the ability to play with fish, in a crazy aggro environment, with huge variance and swings. I'm gonna take a break, review the month and move on. As usual.

Plans for the weekend
I hope I'm gonna catch up with the music, really. Also there's gonna be the last F1 Gran Prix of this season. And I'm actually looking forward to play a lots of Spin & Go's for a change - last days of THE MILLION DOLLARS promotions - any reasonable gambler gotta gamble where there is a chance, right?

The whole week flew by as a rocket! What can I say? It was really tough off-the-tables. I guess it might had an impact on-the-tables as well, well, I'm sure of it. But still - results are decent. The more detailed (hopefully) review I'm going to write tomorrow after playing the last sessions this month - it's going to be monthly report with plans etc. So far - here are results and stats, and bankroll challenge report is here.

2015 November results
Here we are - monthly report! Moved to NL5 completely and tried to settle down - well, I think I did settle down, but can't really say I've beat the limit. At the end of the day my EV is basically at b/e point and all the profits are just a good variance. But overall it feels fine, just shaky - and I've spend huge chunk of this weekend analyzing my database of around 280k hands total at NL5 and NL10 - and wrote down some leaks. Here we go:

Leak: Overall I doing poorly with pocket pairs 22-99 and most of the suited Ax hands
Plug: Reduce number of those hands opened from early positions and pay more attention to postflop

Leak: Not doing great with broadways, especially offsuit and weaker ones
Plug: Focus more on postflop spots with those, pot control and fold more

Leak: SB range seems to be too wide - losing with some weaker hands, suited connectors and gappers
Plug: Tighten up a little from SB and focus on postflop

Leak: Huge losses are UTG (and some MP) when calling 3bets
Plug: Reduce 3bet calls, stick to 4bet or fold strategy more

On the positive side I'd like to note my overall decent blind defense and cold-calling ranges - those numbers look pretty good and I'm happy with progress I've made. I've also spent some time analyzing some of the regulars that I've playing a lot with - I think some of the weaknesses and tendencies I've discovered might bring profit in the long run. The part I'm NOT happy with - is the same old foe of mine - showdown. WTSD 27% and W$SD 46% are both 1% worse than I had last month - so it's time to really focus on that aspect.

I've also played some Spin & Go's at first, then some more in the end of the month - overall a little additional profit, hopefully will have time to play them some more in the future.

Here we go - analysis results and intentions are written down, all attention to those from now on. It's time for stats and graphs, and then I'll move to December plans.

Spoiler

Played at Zoom 5NL 6 max: 58752 of 60000 hands (within 2% error margin)
Time spent playing: 65 hours, 77 cash games sessions
Net result: +75.55$ just +13.28$ by EV
Money gave away: 1.24$ of 3.42$ in 1 of 3 hands offered
Spin & Go's: 66/174 won/played, net: +8$
Poker analysis: 13 hours
Poker study: 18 hours (videos, books, etc)
Workouts: 13 of 16 days + 3 of 4 days of basketball
Music: 7 of 15 hours

Stats Zoom 5NL

Graph Zoom 5NL

Spin & Go's Chips Graph

So I'd say number of hands played is fine - within 2% error margin, especially if I take into consideration the fact that the month overall was pretty tough for me in terms of non-poker stuff. I did OKeish workouts and sport. Didn't like the give-away hands - looks like it doesn't work well. And I've failed at music part I'm afraid. Gotta do a better job next month.

2015 December plans
The last month of the year is always complicated - so much stuff to do. Especially when it's close to holidays. So it would be reasonable to say I'll have 15 working days for sure - anything more than that I'll take as a bonus. So that's 3 weeks and since I didn't fully complete the November's plans - I can see only one way to improve it. It is to add more stuff! So I'm going to play 50k hands (it's less than last month's 60k - but I can only be sure that I'll have 3 weeks instead of 4), practice guitar for 10 hours and have 15 sport-days (12 workouts and 3 basketball sessions). As an addition this month I'm going to plan at least 15 hours of Deutsch learning - gotta finish it at some point anyway.

I know it's bit premature as I planned to move to NL10 when I reach 300$ bankroll and beat the NL5 limit, but here we go - the biggest challenge this month - is to take a shot at NL10. I've got 190$ in the cashier, that's just 10$ short of the goal with the 100$ bonuses coming up. I'm going to put 40$ away for now because I still plan to purchase StarsHelper during this month, that gives me 60$ of the bonus. So I'm going to invest those as 6 buy-ins of NL10 into a first short week's shot and if I drop to 130$ in the cashier - I'm moving down back to NL5. It feels bit of a time-waste staying at NL5 with decent bankroll behind my back and after 140k hands played there - I think I'm ready to move on. Wish me luck!

And last but not least - it doesn't feel it works well, the whole giveaway idea, not any more. I'm usually busy with analysis and sometimes can't find hands to post - just couple of them this month! I'm still going to share hands but I guess I'm going to drop the giveaway part, so have to change my blog's title I guess too - will think about the new one. Instead of this I'm going to focus more on that mental journal I've started - it feels like it helps a lot.

Well... let's roll! Good luck everyone!
Jay is out.

Thanks, bro! You also have fun at the new coaching thingy :f_thumbsup:

Here's 10NL first day's report - I've decided to review a day in the evening now instead of morning. Will have to think about hand analysis later too, because I can't really do it now - bit tired and need to relax.

Day 36 (2015.12.01)
Had a busy morning, lots of things to take care of - and then finally sat down to play some 10NL after a while. I was a little nervous to be honest, but StarsHelper's trial did help me with making the transition smooth - it looked and felt the same as 5NL since I had all stacks and everything in BBs instead of $. At first I fired up two tables and then added two more.

I hit hard and hot really quick - and as a result I have a nice boost to my bankroll so I can worry less about the money and focus more on decisions at the table. Although I ran way over EV - still, the EV itself also looks good. But I realize the fact that that's just a good variance. I gotta be more careful now not to get carried away with a good luck and keep up the good work. I quick look at WTSD 30% and W$SD 55% - and you'll get the picture. Just a good solid day, I'm pretty happy it happened at 10NL xD

Day 37 (2015.12.02)
Was little worried after yesterday's good run - it might go the other way anytime. And it happened - boom - first minutes of the first session - I'm down 5 buy-ins or so. But since then - everything went smooth and steady. Towards the end of the day I've got this warm feeling: confidence and crystal clear thinking. I had it in two last session - not the best ones in terms of results, but in terms of the mental stats and performance. I'm pretty happy with that new insightful feeling and hopefully will be able to nurture it in the future.

Thanks, vonki!

Day 38 (2015.12.03)
After the first session again I was ready to - it happened. Down almost 5 buy-ins, most of it below EV, but still mentally felt fine. Second short session and the third long one went much smoother, especially the last one, but in the very end of it suddenly I've found myself in a wrong side of the coolers bit too often. So I finished day down two buy-ins although at some point I was two buy-ins up. But those are details. Most important thing is - I stayed focused and calm most of the time, except some especially annoying moments. At one point I rage-shoved QTo vs one guy's 4bet - because he kept 3betting and 4betting me and got lucky couple of hands before. So instead of moving on I just donated another stack to him, shoving QTo vs his AK, basically rewarding him for no reason. Other than that - I did fine.

I've reached my 50$ Stellar reward too - spent 35$ of those to buy StarsHelper. I think this little piece of software is amazing and deserves partial credit for my recent successful run. It does so many things for me so I can just relax and focus more on my actual decisions at the tables. Plus I found this other little program that warns me when I played 175 hands so I can go to Tools and request recent hand history. It's the most distracting and annoying part software wise - but that's the only way for me too keep all the hands in my DB without missing any because of this Zoom issue.

Anywho... roll is growing, still some bonuses as a backup, still some prizes to win - and I just gotta stay focus and careful at the tables.

Hands: 4450 (total 10804) in 3 sessions of 10NL Zoom SH
