2015 November results
Here we are - monthly report! Moved to NL5 completely and tried to settle down - well, I think I did settle down, but can't really say I've beat the limit. At the end of the day my EV is basically at b/e point and all the profits are just a good variance. But overall it feels fine, just shaky - and I've spend huge chunk of this weekend analyzing my database of around 280k hands total at NL5 and NL10 - and wrote down some leaks. Here we go:
Leak: Overall I doing poorly with pocket pairs 22-99 and most of the suited Ax hands
Plug: Reduce number of those hands opened from early positions and pay more attention to postflop
Leak: Not doing great with broadways, especially offsuit and weaker ones
Plug: Focus more on postflop spots with those, pot control and fold more
Leak: SB range seems to be too wide - losing with some weaker hands, suited connectors and gappers
Plug: Tighten up a little from SB and focus on postflop
Leak: Huge losses are UTG (and some MP) when calling 3bets
Plug: Reduce 3bet calls, stick to 4bet or fold strategy more
On the positive side I'd like to note my overall decent blind defense and cold-calling ranges - those numbers look pretty good and I'm happy with progress I've made. I've also spent some time analyzing some of the regulars that I've playing a lot with - I think some of the weaknesses and tendencies I've discovered might bring profit in the long run. The part I'm NOT happy with - is the same old foe of mine - showdown. WTSD 27% and W$SD 46% are both 1% worse than I had last month - so it's time to really focus on that aspect.
I've also played some Spin & Go's at first, then some more in the end of the month - overall a little additional profit, hopefully will have time to play them some more in the future.
Here we go - analysis results and intentions are written down, all attention to those from now on. It's time for stats and graphs, and then I'll move to December plans.

So I'd say number of hands played is fine - within 2% error margin, especially if I take into consideration the fact that the month overall was pretty tough for me in terms of non-poker stuff. I did OKeish workouts and sport. Didn't like the give-away hands - looks like it doesn't work well. And I've failed at music part I'm afraid. Gotta do a better job next month.
2015 December plans
The last month of the year is always complicated - so much stuff to do. Especially when it's close to holidays. So it would be reasonable to say I'll have 15 working days for sure - anything more than that I'll take as a bonus. So that's 3 weeks and since I didn't fully complete the November's plans - I can see only one way to improve it. It is to add more stuff! So I'm going to play 50k hands (it's less than last month's 60k - but I can only be sure that I'll have 3 weeks instead of 4), practice guitar for 10 hours and have 15 sport-days (12 workouts and 3 basketball sessions). As an addition this month I'm going to plan at least 15 hours of Deutsch learning - gotta finish it at some point anyway.
I know it's bit premature as I planned to move to NL10 when I reach 300$ bankroll and beat the NL5 limit, but here we go - the biggest challenge this month - is to take a shot at NL10. I've got 190$ in the cashier, that's just 10$ short of the goal with the 100$ bonuses coming up. I'm going to put 40$ away for now because I still plan to purchase StarsHelper during this month, that gives me 60$ of the bonus. So I'm going to invest those as 6 buy-ins of NL10 into a first short week's shot and if I drop to 130$ in the cashier - I'm moving down back to NL5. It feels bit of a time-waste staying at NL5 with decent bankroll behind my back and after 140k hands played there - I think I'm ready to move on. Wish me luck!
And last but not least - it doesn't feel it works well, the whole giveaway idea, not any more. I'm usually busy with analysis and sometimes can't find hands to post - just couple of them this month! I'm still going to share hands but I guess I'm going to drop the giveaway part, so have to change my blog's title I guess too - will think about the new one. Instead of this I'm going to focus more on that mental journal I've started - it feels like it helps a lot.
Well... let's roll! Good luck everyone!
Jay is out.
