Was hoping to maximize value, was OOP so wasn't 100% villain would bet/shove river, so I did? Opinions? After his large bet on turn looking back he most likely would have bet river. Had played like 3 hands so had no read, on a fast fold table anyways.

PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

Hero bets 5.5 BB, CO raises to 11 BB, fold, Hero calls 5.5 BB

Turn: (31 BB, 2 players) Q♠

OK played imo. I doubt he would continue bluffing on the double paired board, but considering the spr he might call with T or flush.

Maybe, a bet that he doesn't understand??
Such us: over bet for him to think that you are a fish and want to bluff him??

I don't really now

Yes, would have re-raised OTF. Villain's bet indicates he has a 10 in his hand (since A♥:Q♥: is not possible and the nut FD with perhaps an OESD would be a direct shove IMO). QQ in your hand are very unlikely and thus a re-raise OTF for value should apply to make villain pot committed.

I think it was well played. Villain overbet turn and you have only half a pot behind so you can shove it, villain probably wont fold. Re-raising OTF is one option but villain will most likely fold his bluffs and draws (if he has any). Other option is to shove OTT? I think villain will pay it off after flop raise and turn overbet.

I like it as played. On river he will xb but still may decide to call.

If he has a 10, he's calling or raising if you bet the river, or betting if you check to him. If he has air, he's folding to any bet, or checking behind, still no more money in the pot. Betting seems like really the only option.

Probably could have put him all-in on the turn, though, since most of his stack is already in.

Hi Gawdless73,

you have the 2nd nuts on this board!
Players have trouble valuebetting on low limits - not even sure if a T is a valuebet...
So I think the bet yourself was good.

Yeah. Straight flush with J9s is better indeed. That would be pretty nasty.
Shoving turn would be also a good option with only 43.5bb effective behind.

Cheers,

I think betting was a good move. I don't see him continuing to bluff there, so betting was the right play. Nice hand!

On this board it is debatable that T is raising on river.

Would you fold your Tx if every Qx beat you?

I prefer a min-raise on the turn than the call / bet river. People often play stupidly faced to a min raise...

Stats on Villain: just 1 hand. And thus Villain has just 1 hand on Hero.
Reads on stats V: he doesn't play every hand. He doesn't play a full stack.
V's actions in this hand:
Preflop: V calls smallish MP bet.
Flop: V min raised with BTN to act.
Turn: V overbets the pot.

Stacks: effective stacksize is 94bb.
V's stack on the river is 94 -2.5 -11 -37 = 43.5bb
Potsize on the river is 31 +37 +37 =115

Since V is an unknown to Hero, Hero should stick to standard strategy. IMO Hero donks all in on the River.

I don't think it's debatable at all; no one with half a brain would raise Tx on the river outside of some sick levelling war to get value out of ace high or something mad.
