Im going broke here before or late as I see only a potential 44 in his range on the flop that may beat me so
bet flop
and as draws appear on the Turn I decide to take away any difficult decision on the River

Fish thinking, please?
Thanks! :)

P.S. Flop, 44 is ahead but many pocket pairs are possible playing like that
Turn, only QQ now is ahead (plus 44 ofc) but still many Qx and pp are still behind ...

Still, fish thinking please?
Thx :f_smile:

Don't forget Tx combos, like T9s/T8s/JTs and a few potential others. Just because you wouldn't have them in his position doesn't mean that he doesn't have them in his value range. That being said, that flop raise sizing stinks of value, but, unless we have a very good read on the villain, we can't fold it. As played so far, I'd check the turn and call almost any river to give him the opportunity to bluff with the weaker part of his range, which he will clearly fold to your shove.

You should also consider checking the flop, since it's so disconnected and you are isolating yourself against the strongest part of his range, and give him the chance to catch a pair or a draw on the turn or simply bluff at it with air. On the turn, if it's a blank, just call or bet if he just checks. If it brings a straight + flush draw, like in this case, raise it, or bet yourself if he checks.

Also, your flop bet sizing is absolutely terrible on such a dry flop and in position. When he continues with a raise against that, I expect that you are beat more than 80% of the time by trip tens or 44.

Preflop is standard.
On flop with this big cbet you cry you have an overpair or T. It is not correct that only 44 beat you. All Tx beat you too.
After the flop raise we can xb turn and call a reasonable bet on river.

That turn card doesn't bring in a single draw. If you bet, you bet because you think you have the best hand and will have the best hand if called. I'd blatantly disagree.

The number one goal should be to give the villain difficult decisions, giving him the opportunity to make mistakes. Avoiding difficult decisions ourselves is secondary to that. Note too that villain will also have a pretty tough decision whether to bluff shove river if you click back turn.

Hi Guys,
Yours are excellent reds and one more time telling me why I stacked at NL10<
I have posted this hands because I knew I should fold the flop after the raise but I didn't, one, because the frustration to have to fold AA that are very rare to see even over a 1K hands session at time and two, yes, as you said, I didn't have enough info on villain but when at the showdown he show his TT then I felt so stupid that I have to find some sort of confort in post the hand with the hope that maybe somehow I was wrong and I didn't made any mistake but instead you confirm what I felt in the first place ...

Until I do not learn to fold appropriately, I will be stuck in the mud for ever :f_cry:

Btw, thanks for your reply and help, very appreciate, bless you all

Spoiler

I have to start the blog asap as I see a potential improvement with your help then

As a reward for your great reads and knowledge

Results:

Spoiler

$5.45 pot ($0.36 rake)
Final Board: T 4 T Q K
MP showed T T and won $5.09 ($2.38 net)
Hero mucked A A and lost (-$2.71 net)

Thanks guys! :f_thumbsup:

Not a single one of which is in the opponents range.

Have to disagree again- there are plenty- he can 3 bet preflop with AK, AQ and even AJ...
His 3bet is high and if he is depolarized, it is worse...

So which straight draws and flush draws is he

  • calling a 3-bet with preflop out of position
  • check-raising on the flop with

and that pose such a threat?

The hands you mention (AK/AQ/AJ) do not fit the description and have gutshots in two cases and a pair in one case. With proper reduction due to the unlikelihood that he reraises on the flop with these hands, you might find at most one combo (say A♥:J♥: for definiteness) as a reasonable estimate of draws.

Maybe we argue about nothing. I am not really strongly against shoving. I am just arguing that claiming that there are many draws is a misread of the situation.

No, I messed up preflop and flop action. There are not that many draws.

bet flop

Hero has made his decision: he goes all in as soon as possible. In that situation Hero could shove on the flop as a 3Bet.

But that would take out all potential bluffs from the opponent's range. I see no good reason to shove such a dry flop when we are in position.

OTF you can bet smaller. I would check back OTT and call a reasonable river bet.

Those things happen:)

I am personally a great expert in calling down river with imaginary non-nut straights in Omaha. Just too many cards floating around for my brain to keep track of:D

Tbo, that was my thought too that's why I planned the shove (because I had planned the hand to go broke as I thought [wrong/right isn't the point by now in my head] on the Turn as (a part take away difficult decision for me on any river) at same time some river will potentially scare villain vs my shove ...

But, as said by many of you (thx again btw) the hand has been played wrongly as in game I felt I should fold the flop after villain action but I didn't because I have thinking like a fish that doesn't want fold AA even if villain showing his cards face up

Doing the rest of the discussion, on the Turn there is a flush-draw beside the point if villain has carried or not anything that may became interesting for him

Thx again guys :f_thumbsup:
