First of all I expect you are not following the standard pokerstrategy guidlines on bankroll managment. NL50 you should have a bankroll of $1000 or more. I believe the BRM article is accessible at basic level.

I feel like you are implying you had your entire poker life on the line here which is abominable.

Regarding this pot your play is fine, if a little aggressive on the turn to check-shove. Personally I cant fault it. You got your money in in front and that is as we want it to be.

Apart from following strict Bankroll Management rules you should start from lowest limit and build up roll and skills.
I recommend you to try the Big stack strategy and sit at the table with 100 bb.
As for the hand, taking into account that you are shortstack, it is ok.

To be honest, when you have a crappy hand, you cannot possibly raise for protection here. (You risk $27.5 to win $11 in the middle with a shitty hand.) It is very doubtful that you have even a value bet to make.

Needless to say, villain wasn't much brighter, but he should be a rare exception at NL50.

For starters, I advise you to start from Nl2. About hand, the cbet's disputable and makes that x/r action pointless

I raised on the turn just because of the top pair and a straight draw possibility. I really knew I was not beat by a flush cos of the flop play.

Well, i dont get it how BB folded before BNT. But ok, w/e. Flop CB is too big, specially if u dont buy in for 100bb. To save your money, better learn poker in lower limits. start from nl2, then move up when u get money. Its time and money waste to play nl50, even good players cant beat that limit sometimes

Sure. I wanted to end it on the flop itself... that's why I put in that amount. How much would you recommend to risk less?

i dont play nl50, but im sure its ok to bet 50-60% of pot as bluff and ~70% for value

I think you need to spend a little time working on your game at much lower limit tables.

Yes, you have 86% equity against villains hand here, but ultimately villains hand doesn't matter much. What matters is the range he is playing. As a beginner you are probably easy to read and villain at this level know how to play against you. You would have lost your stack eventually. You should start at NL2 and play with 100bb stack. I know it is not fun to play for cents but you shouldn't focus on the money, focus on getting better.

This dude is a rare animal at NL50 because he played worse than you. Not an insult, everybody makes bad plays, but you should probably stop trying to justify (based on his actual holding) that bad move of yours. I could possibly accept it in live poker if you suddenly feel a bad smell in the air when villain bets on turn (and know from before that villain gets a bad stomach when bluffing:D).
