Basically, I don’t play cash but still decided to analyze the session (may be I play it some time later)

1st hand.
Preflop: la55i was a pretty much loose player trying to play almost every hand so I could put him on some very marginal holdings like 64s+, 75s+, 86s+, 96s+, T8+, J8+, Q8-QT, K7-K9
I didn’t see any A in his hand given his position: otherwise I would try to resteal blinds with any A and fold to reraise.
Flop: I think it was a standard checkback against a limper with a wide range of hands so we don’t give him a chance to outbluff us by check/raising and we don’t show our weakness for further streets
Turn: I think that his first bet was OK if wanted to represent somewhat of a value bet with a flush or a queen but I would not reraise myself if I wanted to represent a flush so I was pretty much sure that may have either air or QT or weaker Q. Moreover, my line also really looked like a flush hand.
River:

Spoiler

I made a value bet convinced that he doesn’t have an Ace and I could also have made a value bet representing a flush.

2nd hand.
Preflop: my preflop action was just for fun coz we had a home game.
Flop: given the preflop situation and his check on the flop (I would value bet here since many other hands call us here) I didn’t see any 5 and many J in his hands so I decide to continue the bluff line.
Turn: I hit 9 and I decide to Cbet since I didn’t want to see another card that could help him and put me to a disadvantage.

3rd hand
Pretty tricky one, I think Nozfardu decided to slowplay due to my aggression.
I think that everything was Ok but I should have checked to river given his flatcalling manners.
I were him in turn, I would not go all-in on the turn after my bet but 3bet small to induce call.

4th hand.
Ghm, again, he is a loose player and he could have raised trying to steal the blinds with a wide range. I think he just folded his strong A by betting on the flop and I simply didn’t see any point of betting 3/4 pot on the turn with a weak A (may be only with smth like A8-A9 which is unlikely for him to have since I might have wanted to check on a dry flop to see what the op does on the turn). Thus, I decided to reraise to sweep off the bluff.
I think given the preflop raise, la55i was giving me no additional info about his hand on the flop so I decided to just call with the second pair, but when it goes to the turn, if i were him I would have probably decided to check and would not have been afraid of the river if had a strong A kicker or two pairs, I didn’t also think the he had a stronger Tx, I would want to check behind on the flop and see what the opponent did on the turn. I presumed him to have a weaker pocket pair or KJ+ so I reraised to make him fold worse hands that could accidentally improve.

5th hand
I should have bet for value on the river since his 3bet reraise on the turn was very unlikely to be a flush value bet (I would have raised too but smaller to give myself better pot odds to call)

Funny :f_biggrin: I was playing super loose and tried to mess with your heads :)

Hand 1:

I thought that you would have cbetted your FD otf. OTT I bet and try to rep a flush here. You raise and I think you are repping a flush here but I know you don't have it. I thought by reraising I will jam your head and you have to fold because I obviously have the flush. On the river you made a valuebet because you were sure I don't have a flush and I called it with my 2pair because I was sure you don't have a flush I had that A2o because I wanted to play a lot of hands because it was a fun game and I was extremely bored playing only 1 table.

Hand 4&5 (same hand?):

Can you explain why did you take strong Ax out of my range? I think it is quite standard cbet and I would do it with for example AK. Turn opens heart draw so I barrel again and rep strong Ax. I really have AK and AQ in my range there too. In this hand I had KQs.

Hand 6:

Pre flop -> I was bored and you minraised...
OTT I think it would be a good spot to rep a flush. Unfortunately this time you had what I was trying to rep. :f_biggrin:
OTR I decided to give up since you didn't buy my bluff.. If I had shoved, would you have called it?

Thank you, la55i, deleted the repeating hand!

Hand 1: I remember you said that you thought I had a flush and you made a hero call:badteeth:
Lemon commented that he would have just checked behind otr but I don't remember the reasoning(

Hand 4:
la55i, I can’t say for sure (I try to do my best at analysis but I am still very much creative). I personally consider AK as a hand that stands quite ahead in this situation and I would let the op that is oop to bluff me or to improve on the next streets.

Hand 6:
ye, I was ready to call)

Cheers)

Hand 1. With all the action on prev streets you should xb as you have some sd value and would love to see sd. With a bet you will fold out hands that you beat and will get called by ones that smash you.
By the way, la55i should have Ax in his range, but A2o is too low. No comment on " I know that you know that I rep a flush" levelling thing.
Hand 2. Fold pre and save yourself the trouble of reasoning.
Hand 3. Same as hand 2.
Hand 4. Lol but brave.
Hand 5. Stack him off when you hit, man. Calling a shove is lol.

P.s. invite me in those games, lol. :)

Haha nice, I've commented on these in stream (Homegame recordin

g should get released at some point) . In a nutshell
H1: Flat turn, no reason to raise, you want to be able to have hands that can call turn and river, and he should bluff a good amount
I commented on this being some creative stuff from la55i but it's true to an extent that you probably don't have many flushes, I'd raise here only against recreationals really in your spot with the Q9

H2 turn's interesting, I'd check it back personally, doubt better is folding and we should have better hands to bet turn shove river with (KQ, AQ, AK that remove stuff like QQ KK AA AJ KJ)
H3 definitely check the river :P
H4 I like this actually with your hand in particular, probably for different reasons than you stated - I still do think la55i has strong hands in his range. When you have some value hands and want to also have some bluffs, you should start bluffing with hands that remove your opponent's strong hands. And TJ takes out some AJ TT AT combinations, and it's hard to call turn with it - and even if +ev the ev of raising might be the same or higher. And we can safely assume that the guys in the homegame are capable to fold to raises, so yeah well played there with your particular hand ;)!

H5 I play the same,

The homegame was for people that were active in the live coachings chats in here:
https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2219551#post2219551
primarily, later it was open for folks tuning in too once the VIPs picked their seats and tables. One of the guys won himself a free status upgrade in the very last hand too (that's why it was enticing to use some adventurous strategy near the end - status upgrade was on the line) and 9 other guys won themselves some great fun so you definitely missed out and now the course is over !

H1:, nitrol, what Ax what you put in his range and why?
(what does xb mean? )
If I understood you, guys, right, la55i would not want to raise with the lowest pair and if he raised trying to bluff, I should have just called and see if he bets the river and if he doesn’t I fire for value?
Can you give a line of conventional play of both players with their hands given the situation at hand just to understand it better?

H2:
I sometimes like to make cheap mistakes/moves which legitimacy is not clear for meto analyze and learn from them.
Lemon, good point, thank you!

H3:
Lemon, nitrol, what would you do if you were in la55i position?

H4:
Still a bit confused about this hand.
Lemon, do you leave Ax (with strong, weak or medium kicker) in the la55i range and why? What are your reads on his bets?

I think I may be mistaken presuming that when one have a strong hand, you try to conceal it and vice versa when you have nothing or a second, third best hand. May be it works for recreational players only?

H5:
Lemon, do you consider calling a shove on the river (shove/call, check/shove/call)?
Do you check or value bet on the river?
I am confused coz nitrol says it to a lol move))

Thank you all, guys, for bringing your comments!

Ok, I will do some work with my best friend -Google translate.

1st Hand

On the flop I can't just check-call or check-fold. Obv I don't have good FE vs his range, but I have gutshot and BD FD.
On the turn, I have gutshot+ FD. He maybe folds here Jx, AT (call ATd), A9s, A4-A5s, KTs, T9s, QTs, KQs, KQ-KJo (without Kd).Maybe 60% FE.
On the river he folds only KQ-KJ with Kd, AT with Td. Not enough. I have a pair :f_smile:. Easy check-fold.

2nd Hand

On the flop. Nothing :f_frown:...But he bets so small:f_confused:. Maybe he have QQ? Or maybe he have set? Let's call this and see whats happens on the turn.
On the turn. He checks..Well, no sets anymore. Or this is a trap? Let's bet small, he will explain very kindly :f_wink:.
On the river. His range: 99-QQ and Kx. He can have some strange hand, like 6d3d. But he can't call overbet.

3rd Hand

Preflop. This guy is not aggressive for now. Just call in position...
Flop. Never fold :f_smile:
Turn. He checks...Ok, let's see the river.
River. He checks. QQ, JJ, KQ, KJ...Easy value bet.

La55i has the option of checking the turn, trying to get to showdown. Or bet the turn to bet river with large sizing and try to bluff you off mid strenght hands, even some Qx. What we're saying is that you should just call the bet in the first place - if you think about your range, you have very little amount of flushes, I assume even if you do check back flop with XXdd Qd will take some of those hands out anyways, so you pretty much have almost no nutted hands in your range here so
1) He should bluff vs you frequently on the river when you just call as your strongest hands are pretty much AQ and some random 2 pair so it's good to keep made hands in your flatting range as you'll get value from his bluffs
2) As you don't have strong hands in your range, you
- Open yourself to getting bluffed if he realizes that
- allow him to play really well against you overall on the river if you raise made hands like these and call hands like e.g. XdX, midpairs you checked back etc.

I sometimes like to make cheap mistakes/moves which legitimacy is not clear for meto analyze and learn from them.
Lemon, good point, thank you!

Yes, that's why the main advice of Beyond The First Strategy was that you should focus on every hand, and use your head to come up with your own strategy - try to think through the ranges and your options you have and do what makes the most sense to you

H4:
Still a bit confused about this hand.
Lemon, do you leave Ax (with strong, weak or medium kicker) in the la55i range and why? What are your reads on his bets?

I don't have any reads on his bet and that's the point - not sure why that size would take out many strong hands from his range. So when I don't know how my opponent plays, and him being 1 tabling reg who obviously paying attention my approach is to simply bet/raise for value with strong hands and then add bluffs with the best bluffing hands based first on equity, blockers and how low they are in my range.
