A 3-bet bluff works well with Ax Kx, with TT you hit once every 8 times. After Hero misses the flop it is check/fold for Hero I believe.
This play was more setmining rather than defending.

You've reached it. Keeping the pot small is essential with our hand.

Any card higher to board is not good for us.

Its true. A fold from those hands is good for us too.

U are right. His stats are on the tight side, and from MP, not many hands at all.

Yes, no need to create a large pot w that hand.

Its one more reason to stop, Pistoleroo. Ax has some showdown value .

We have 187 hands, do we have any info about villain's post flop game?

Villain plays few hands and seems rather tight pre flop although 187 hands is not huge it gives a pretty good idea.
it would be interesting to know how the villain plays IP as preflop raiser. this is why notes are great (so much better than stats)
bet sizing also tell a lot of info but unfortunately we only have preflop stats.
the issue OTF is that we are either slightly ahead (vs FD or 2 overs) or way behind by TP or better.
I think the OOP the best way is to fold OTF as we are OOP and a decent player will probably barrel all his range, and a tight player will probably be either way ahead or marginally behind.
As played, I would fold OTT for the same reason. By calling , you can expect a 3rd barrel in many case, except maybe Jx hands... So what will you do on a 7♣: river for example? or A♥:? or again 4♠:? and in every case villain barrels?

Yep, the pitfalls of playing oop.
U cant even have a chance to check it back once for pot control. And in most bets, u are in a guessing game and not confortable with.

it is an option, but it is only good if he folds other wise you are exactly in the same place as check calling. and if he peels one street, what do you do then?

In other words, if u dont have good info in villain posflop, we are basically playing fit or fold here?

By calling preflop we got good implied odds to play for set mining especially vs a tight player. if we end up with another pair we still have to tread carefully as villain might only continue with overpairs as well

Of course we are not folding Tens here. But dont u think we lose a bit of value in set mining oop?

Set mining OOP is like any play OOP, it is not as lucrative overall.

Then as a general basis you can play TT much more aggressive either pre or post . Now vs a tight player you want to stay tight as well when he is interested in the pot.

Agree. But at the same time this gives me the feeling that our hands are tied, and would be great being able to make some different play to defend ourselves.

IMO find another spot, there is not much you can do when :

  • you have an OK hand
  • you're OOP
  • a tight player show interest in the pot

I feel we are giving up, but still there are AK, AQ he can peel. Aren't we losing to "light" here.
Of course, it is very useful to have info and decide, but vs unknown?

Do you mean 'aren't we losing to a light raise' or 'aren't we losing with a light range'?
