Any way I could have played this differently? Shove/raise on any streets? What to do on the river?
Unknown villian.

I don’t think you have much reason to raise at 1 street, because you have with middle pair some showdown value as well and you have the nut flush draw as well. The river would be a easy call, because you need to win the hand 15% (1.250*(5777+1.250+1.250)*100%) of the time to make a call profitable.

Cheers,

Yeah, I end up calling on the river too. I think the strange small bet caught be off guard and I wasn't sure what it meant.

I thought about turning my pair into a bluff by shoving, because I found his bet weak, that way I might had been able to beat Qx and small two pairs (he doesn't have many 2 pairs here), by making them fold. I end up calling and lose the hand. Would it have been totally suicide to shove the river?

On what range do you put opponent when he donk on flop?
I would bet on that range: 99,44,KQs,Q5s+,KQo,Q9o,Kd9s,Kh9s,Ks9d,Ks9h,Ks9c,Kc9s,QdJs,QhJs,QsJd,QsJh,QsJc,QcJs,QdTs,QhTs,QsTd,QsTh,QsTc,QcTs,JdTs,JhTs,JsTd,JsTh,JsTc,JcTs,Jd9s,Jh9s,Js9d,Js9h,Js9c,Jc9s,Td9s,Th9s,Ts9d,Ts9h,Ts9c,Tc9s,9d8s,9h8s,9s8d,9s8h,9s8c,9c8s

So we are hoping for spade or A on turn or river. With the prize that we get I think is reasonable to call till the river. Especially if opponent hold spade in his hand and he has it most of the time. At least one. So we have some implied odds even when spade came. But this mean that most of the time we don't have 9 outs for flush but rather 8. But we still have call for 3:1 pot odds because of 3 outs for A.

River is very bad for us. It doesn't improve our hand and we left with just 2nd pair TK on FD board.

I think that it is huge mistake if we think just like that. If opponent has always flush here we don't have any odds for calling since we are crushed 100% of the time. We must always put opponent on range and then see if we have call based on odds.
If opponent has range that I put him on, then we are winning in 10,35% of the time and 15% is far too much for us to call here. I would personally fold on river.

GL at tables!

Interesting post my love :f_love: I am not used to see those kind of bet sizes, so I was arguing with myself how I should act, I think you are right, a fold would be ok.

Off topic spam: why is it 15% that we need? Isn't it: (1.250 / (5.777+1.250)) * 100% or have I been calculating wrong my whole poker career? :spit:

SDK write it right, just that wee need to devide not multiply. So here it is:
1.250/(5777+1.250+1.250)*100

Oh yea and you need to rounded up the calculation. Never down, since the calculations give you BE results. ;)

I feel like the biggest fish now, but can you explain why 1.250 have to be added twice? Aint we only calling to win 1.250 once (+5.777)?

No you are calling to win pot+his bet + your call.

Haha, well atleast I fixed a massive leak in my game today :badteeth:

Normally when I am playing I dont calculate my odds in %.
Just to make sure, I am not calculating ratios wrong (usually I use ratios for pot odds): Lets say we are playing HU, and villian bets half pot - then we are getting 3:1, right?? :pcuser: I am gonna quit poker if this is wrong :rage:

Okay, pheww - just thought I had been living my whole poker life on a lie  I dont still dont get why I get one of them wrong when the other one is right, but as long I am doing my ratios correct, things should be fine :pcuser:

First one is calculation on how much equity you need for profitable call and 2nd one are pot odds. This is not the same. ;)
