$2.5 180-man Turbo - 3bet shove with 88 for 20bb effective

BB: t4121 M = 8.96

Pre Flop: (t460) Hero is MP2 with 8♥ 8♦
2 folds, MP1 raises to t444, Hero raises to t3954 all in, 4 folds, MP1 calls t1839 all in

Can we expect r/f range from opponent with 12bb? Or has he just r/c range with top of the shoving range?
I don't think that opponent will r/f here. So more of the question would be how wide is his range here? Does he do it with 77+, AT+? If yes then we still can't 3bet shove 88 here. I think that here I make a mistake. I think that my 3bet range should not be wider than JJ+, AK. He is probably shoving low EV open shoves and because of that I think that his open raising range is very strong.

What do you think?

It’s already suspicious that he don’t open shoves here for 12bb effective. I don’t know if you have seen him raise before with 12bb or shoved for this amount, but in most cases you up against a pretty tight range and I don’t want to gamble with a hand like 88 here. So your range of JJ+ and AK is most likely a lot better to re-shove here without any reads on him.
