So much to learn, so much to learn... I really need to work on my sng play, ICM and hand ranges are my priority right now. I usually try to play 4 to 8 sit and goes every evening and I'm 7 buy-ins down right now I think. It would be much worse if not the last one which I won - otherwise it would be 8 in a row without a money finish.
Watching videos may be a good move as well as ICM trainings.
Uhm, my sit and go career doesn't develop as good as I was hoping for. I'm down to 38$ which is about 9 buy-ins. I think I play well in the first part when blinds are low, I try to engage only in profitable situations, bet only with the strong hands and so on, no weird moves or anything. In the mid-blind play I also feel quite comfortable. I guess I can exploit players passivity on this low level, steal and resteal well enough to make it to the bubble. And then the problem starts. I try to keep beeing aggressive, don't want just to slip into the money, but I fail so often. I know it's the hardest part of the sit and go to master for a beginner like me, but I don't know if my bankroll will survive the learning process.
I made a promise to myself - if I ever fall below 30$ I'm switching to the lowest fr cash game and build my bankroll back to 50$ and then start to go again with the sng's. 30$ it's just 6 buy-ins for NL5 but I think I can take it.
I also started to post some hands in the forums - it is so very useful for me when I play cash, it has to improve my game in sng's as well. I'm just looking for a good converter.
Cash games on party are going well - slowly but steadily I'm increasing my br.

I think I steal and resteal better and when I'm losing most of the times it's in coinflips or even as a slight favourite e.g. Ax vs KQ. Still need to get a feel of this poker format.
I've also signed up for a BotD so I hope I'll have a great time playing MTT's with other members and hopefully increasing my stars bankroll ;).

I havent played much since the last update, but I tried to play badugi for the first time yesterday and I wanted to share my feelings with you ;).
I found a thread about it in General Discussion forum I think and decided to give it a try. I sat down with just a basic understanding of the game - I just knew you get 4 cards and want to make a low un-paired and un-suited hand with it. First few hands I didn't really know what's going on - I didn't know it was a fixed-limit kind of game and I didn't know nothing about strategy. Quickly went down from 10$ to 5$ but then I started to apply my on-the-spot made strategy of playing only hands with three low unsuited and unpaired cards or ocassionaly hands with two very low unsuited and unpaired cards (so I have to discard 2 max in the first round), but play them aggressively. Quickly I jumped to 15$ and ended my session.
I guess only few people know what's going on around them, they seem to just play some random hands from time to time. On the other hand I almost always have the odds to draw (at least I guess so, I didn't do any math).
I'm gonna try it tonight again to see if it can be profitable in the long run.

Badugi is indeed profitable but boooring even in the short run, I just played like a machine, no difficult spots, nothing to think about, I guess it's not for me. Or maybe I haven't gotten into the game as deep as I should have. Anyways, it goes aside for now.
I decided to stop playing sit and goes for a while on Stars and decided to focus on cash games to clear the bonus and build myself a bigger bankroll. Really, these 1$ sngs are pain in the ass, pardon my words. People are calling so loose that ICM starts to lose its sense - I keep getting called with hands like J7o and the like all the time which puts a big question mark on spots where I'm supposed to push any two or almost any two. And I'm not so good yet to adjust my ranges correctly to different opponents :(.
I hope I'll clear my bonus fast and be then able to play 3$ buy-in. If some PokerStars player is reading this, maybe you can tell me is there a feature that allows me to check the status of my bonus? Cause I can't locate it and I've been looking for some time now.

I like you line.. not at all fishy. You need to raise this pot since his bet is just so low. His re-raise gives you good odds + now you know what he has making turn and river easier to play.

Surprisingly, it didn't make me angry, but I decided to take a short break.
Interesting, how PokerStars cash games are different from PartyPoker. I was comfortably playing NL10 on Party, feeling that I'm beating it, just waiting for the right bankroll to move up to NL25 (I'm a little conservative about that). Then I started to play NL5 on Stars to improve my SNG bankroll and it's soooo much looser than NL10 on Party - I find it very hard to adapt. I've been used to a certain preflop game on Party which was like 10/13 - it just doesn't work that well on stars. AJo is not that good if it sees the flop with three other players still in a hand. C-bets are not so effective as well, people call me a lot on the flop with second or bottom pairs and so on. It's easily exploitable, I know, but I still "switch" my thinking. It's a good experience for me though.
My sit and go play starts to look better recently. Far more money finishes, some wins, some second places - maybe it's an upswing, maybe it's my real level, maybe I'm just lucky - we'll find it out in the near future.
I decided to take a few shots at NL25 this weekend. I played just around 200 hands or so on one or two tables just to get used to higher stake. I guess I'm break even after two short sessions due to losing my AK to A6 on a preflop all-in against a shortstack. Happens.
I'm happy cause I'm not money scared (although I haven't played for a big pot yet), pot size is just a number to me, not real money, and that's good.
I've been browsing the forums to find some clues on switching from NL10 to NL25. I decided to write it down here so it would be easier for me to remember and stick to it.
1. ABC poker does the job
2. Play the same game as on NL10, don't try anything fancy and only try to adjust your game after getting a better feeling of the limit
3. Try not to be money scared
4. Use table selection
I'm gonna try to take some more shots on that limit and when I decide I feel comfortable, I'm gonna switch for good.
Sit and Go Update
I got back to play sit and goes few days ago, and despite my ROI still being below 0 I can still see some signs of progress.

Not very impressive, I know, but still I'm happy with it and I think I'm on a good way to finally making some profit.
The biggest leak I've observed is that I go broke too lightly in the middle-stack part of the tourney with hands that are really good preflop, but which lost some value on the flop. It's the result of playing cash games a lot, where you stack is far deeper and you can always rebuy. I'm working on it though.

The ski season seems to come to an end here in Poland, so I'm happy I used the opportunity to get the most of it and went on a slope last weekend with my best friend. The conditions were great and I had a lot of fun.

NL25 update
First serious session on NL25 yesterday. Almost 1000 hands with a profit of 34$ and 14,5bb/100hands.
I played shorthanded cause I find it much more fast and interesting than full ring and what's also important - there are no shortstackers! Yay!
I hope to play some more today and see how it goes. Players are weird on this limit. My cbets rarely work, I saw many players calling me two streets with A-high or bottom pair. So usually I either win a small pot preflop or with a cbet or a huge one with a monster. I won very few mediocre pots of say 10$ or sth like that.
I don't know how SH stats should look like but after 1400 handa (that's not a good sample I know) I have sth like:

Wow, what a day I had yesterday. It surely was the most profitable day in my poker career so far.
I started to play some NL25 SH tables on Party. In one of the first few hands I got dealt AKo in the button so I made a standard openraise and the guy from the BB decided to defend and 3bet. I couldn't give up my AK in shorthanded play in the blind battle so I made a 4bet. After thinking a bit he shoved and I had to call. I won the pot against TT.
Just a several hands later I was still comfortably sitting with a stack of around 200BB when I saw AA dealt to me. Cool. The same scenario takes place. I raise first-in, cutoff 3bets, I 4bet, he shoves, I call. I win against QQ. The cutoff was also around 200BB deep so I end up with over 90$ in my stack in around 10 minutes and I was in a little shock. I made over 130$ that session in the end with a winrate of over 40bb/100hands. So sick. I know it's just the good side of variance, but still it feels great.
Sit and goes go well too!
In the evening I tried to play some sit and goes before sleep and opened up 4 tables as always. I won two of them, and finished 2nd in the other two. For the first time in my career I have positive winnings and I increased my bankroll from the initial 50$ to 57$.
