Tried LHE after reading your blog today. Surprisingly, didn't hate it as much as I expected to!
Unfortunately seems like the rake at 0.25/0.5 is enormous, maybe even unbeatable...

Rake is high, but it's most definitely beatable.
Good Luck in the new challenge Mr Steel. I look forward to reading how you get on.
Thx! Spoiler alert, so far looking good ![]()
I'm about to start my MTT "grind" in few minutes. If anyone wants to say hi and see me play some mixed games, you are most welcomed to join us on Twitch ![]()

Here's the plan:

Week 1 of Bankroll Challenge #2

And the ball has started rolling. Here's the first week of my second bankroll challenge. Just a reminder, we are going for $10.000!
Besides playing cash games tables, I also played two FL Hold'em tourneys on Saturday. I didn't do well
In fact, I did so bad that I was knocked out of all 6 tournaments really quickly. This was my exit from $55 HORSE:
I did good in cash game tho. So good that this almost seems like a déjà vu to me. Here's a graph from Friday's session.

Week 1
Hands: 1865
Tournaments: 2
Cash game profit: $390,92
Tournament profit: $-29,20
Total profit: $362,73
Week 0 BR: $1760,00
Week 1 BR: $2122,73 (+21%)
And ICYMI, here's a short interview that I did with PokerStrategy after completing challenge #1:

Week 2 of Bankroll Challenge #2

Profitable on the cash game tables, but still haven't made an impact in tournaments. Maybe that will change this and next week during SCOOPs! ![]()
All in all I have to say it was a good week. Made a profit can't really say no to that. Tables on Friday were absolutely amazing, but ended up in red at the end anyway. This one hurts a bit, have to say ![]()
Day 3 graph

Day 4 graph

Week 2
Hands: 2490
Tournaments: 2
Cash game profit: $218,44
Tournament profit: $-33,60
Total profit: $184,83
Week 1 BR: $2122,73
Week 2 BR: $2307,56 (+8,7%)
There's not much more to say, really. I'll just post my plan for this week. Only one cash game day, but will probably play bunch of LHE tournaments during my SCOOP shenanigans.

I wanted to, but probably won't, because I had problems with recording on Day 1 and Day 2. I'll open up Past Broadcasts on Twitch for everyone not just subscribers soon anyway.
Week 3 of Bankroll Challenge #2

Week 3 wasn't the most exciting week of bankroll challenges so far. SCOOP has started so I'm mostly focusing my energy in that one. I did make one session and CRUSHED as you can see from the picture below.

[x] Crushing Limit Hold'em
Week 3
Hands: 1305
Tournaments: 3
Cash game profit: $32,70
Tournament profit: $11,23
Total profit: $43,93
Week 2 BR: $2.307,56
Week 3 BR: $2.351,49 (+1,9%)
Busy week ahead of me. 10 days of streaming Limit games in a row. I'll probably hate tournaments after this SCOOP
"My Main Event" on Tuesday, playing Low, Mid and High Limit Hold'em!

Week 4 of Bankroll Challenge #2

This week was more of a SCOOP week than bankroll challenge week and this is how it went...

Not great, yeah ![]()
I've played 15 tournaments or something like that, so realistically I really couldn't expect much, but there's always hope that you might win all 15 events or something
Good news is that I really like most, if not all the mixed games that I've played and I definitely will play them more in following weeks and months. Who knows, maybe I'll do challenge #3 when I hit $10.000 in this one ![]()
So in week 4 I've played 5 LHE tournaments and only one day of cash games. Just enough to do this update, to be honest. But now that SCOOP is over, I'll continue with full speed ahead! I see I need to do a better job following tournaments, so I can have some stats at the end regarding buyins, profit, ROI and such.

Week 4
Hands: 1000
Tournaments: 5
Cash game profit: $191,08
Tournament profit: $-30,25
Total profit: $160,83
Week 3 BR: $2.351,49
Week 4 BR: $$2.512,32 (+6,8%)
Week 5 of Bankroll Challenge #2

I'm going on short vacations in 6 hours and haven't even went to bed yet. Have to do this update super-duper-mega quick.
Week 5
Hands: 2869
Cash game profit: $59,90
Week 4 BR: $2.512,32
Week 5 BR: $2.572,23 (+2,4%)
Holy crap dude, didn't even know you have a blog here
Glad I have found it, awesome! Keep it up, another thread going under favourites
Hey Luka,
I have a question.
From which limit would you suggest to play Shorthanded or HU?
I havent been playing much. But recently started again(after overcoming my 1010BB downswing all the way from 2/4 to 0.25/0.5).
I hate that limit so much. Unable to overcome it without rakeback. I see from 1/2$ the rake is lesser. But for some reason i have a good result in 0.5/1$ till date at 6max.
Any valuable suggestions pls?(Like get out of FL:f_cry:)
[x] explanation for the hand in the stream where you played KK on AK2K7 and your opponent chose to not cap turn & river... WHY?

I don't think you should play HU at all, unless with a bad player and/or to wait for table to fill up. 3-way it's not a problem (I assume that's what you mean by shorhanded), because I assume you will always have a weaker player on the table anyway.
2/4 is the hardest limit I think in terms of competition and rake. It's important to be a supernova playing +1/2. Also try to play multiple different stakes, like 3 tables of 1/2 and one table of 2/4 for example. And then just grind and study

WHY?Turn because he was slowplaying, river because he realized he doesn't have the best hand? I honestly wouldn't know. Seen so many weird things playing micros and small takes that nothing really surprises me anymore

Week 6 of Bankroll Challenge #2
Week 6 of Bankroll Challenge #2 is the first losing week so far. Definitely feels like a deja vu from the first one, where I started amazing as well
So yeah, one session and it was a shitty one. I obviously knew I wasn't running well, but I have to say I wasn't playing well either. So the loss was kind of a imminent really. Was also a bit shocked when I checked my stats after the session and I had a went to showdown (WTS) of 31%. I mean.... I knew I was folding too much, but 31% is ridiculously low
Still doing fine tho! Don't have the exact stats in BB or anything like that, but winning ~$650 in 10k hands on 1/2 and 2/4 doesn't seem bad at all. Also played in two tourneys this week ($2.20 and $27 LHE) - no cash unfortunately. Will play a little bit more this week, so let's get back on winning hype train!
Week 6
Hands: 1176
Tournaments: 2
Cash game profit: -$206,42
Tournament profit: -$29,20
Total profit: -$233,62Week 5 BR: $2572,23
Week 6 BR: $2336,61 (-9,2%)In other news...
Basketball team that I support won Slovenian national championship! Helios winning the league is almost the same as Leicester winning Premiere League... AlmostWe were lucky to even qualified into playoffs lol.

Hey thanks for the reply. What i need to know is will i loose so much to rake if i play HU below 1/2??
Depends on who you play against. But yes, you will pay a lot of rake playing HU. It could still be +EV, if you secure a rec player and table fills up.
Week 7 of Bankroll Challenge #2

Already Week 7 of the second Bankroll Challenge. So far I've played 12k hands and 15 MTTs, so that means less than 2k hand per week. I think I need to step up my game and start grinding a little bit more, and I will. Went a little bit too far with my "vacations" in the last two weeks ![]()
I've also made an excel graph of all 10 days so far:

Week 7
Hands: 1222
Tournaments: 2
Cash game profit: $35,91
Tournament profit: $-4,40
Total profit: $31,51
Week 6 BR: $2336,61
Week 7 BR: $2368,11 (+1,3%)
