This Wednesday on the coaching! We go through the lategame and final table of the $16.50 PKO that we started on last week's coaching, focusing on finding the optimal line in this game and compared to a normal (non-KO) MTT.
Let´s see how Hero´s story continues....

Hi everyone. I would like to put forward two potential topics for future coachings: 1) check/raises and reraises (aka 2bets essentially) postflop in MTTs (especially focussed on how to play against them, and what they usually mean when done); 2) calling minraises and shoves in MTTs when shortstacked (<15/20BB).
Does anyone find any of those interesting? What do you think Collin?

Even in non-progressive super-KOs, FGS provides a big improvement, I believe. Alas it wasn't available for KOs in ICMIZER when you were doing the video on 6-man hyper SKOs last September, though it had been already available in HRC since mid-August. The addition of FGS to ICMIZER has certainly narrowed the gap between it and HRC.
Regarding your video about Beat The Clock - I've never played this game yet but I've given it some thought today.
You've made great points about the game strategy but I think Hero's main issue in the video is that he doesn't use hotkeys, which would help him register in a new game and click buttons faster. There are tools that are free to use up to $3 tourneys (such as StarsCaption). The thing is that the rake is charged per tourney, not per hand, and as it's a Zoom tourney, it's important to play as many hands as possible (without spewing too much, though) within the 5 minutes, so that the rake per hand is lower. It looks like Hero plays around 4 hands per minute per table while I think he could play 5-7 if his decisions were more automatic.
It's still important to think all the spots through carefully but I think it's sometimes OK to pass up on marginally +EV spots early in the tourney in order to be dealt an extra hand in the meantime. Actually, my risk aversion would be the opposite of what recs exhibit - I'd be inclined to make low-variance plays at the early levels because there's a high penalty for being eliminated early (namely, the requirement to pay the rake once more - by buying into the next tourney - in order to continue grinding) but I'd be making high-variance plays in the final minute because the game would be about to finish anyway.
As for the number of tables, unfortunately there's no choice at the $10-25 BI level - one has to play in all the tourneys that go off at all and will still be often left with no game at all for a minute or two unless he mixes other poker formats in (which means that BTC is not very playable for a living anyway - $10 BTC is similar to $5-7 KOs at most in terms of both variance and hourly winrates) - but even at the $5 level, I think one should play at 1 table at a time only, in order to make fast folds and play about the same number of hands per hour (maybe 1.5 times fewer but surely not twice fewer) while paying twice less rake per hour than while 2-tabling.
Anyway, I find 18-man SKOs much more fun but I felt the need to write down my thoughts about BTC just in case.
How many hands would be reasonable to enter on FGS calculations. HRC offers up to 6 i believe but it takes hours to calculate.
