Before my monthly review, I will make a short reflect about my trip to Austria and point 5 reasons, why it was wonderful. Although I didn't cash (happens 9 times out of 10), I still want to find something positive about this journey, otherwise most travels will end in a poor taste :f_grin:

So, Number 1:

Online poker is not so fun as Live Poker and watching the screen for many hours could result in losing motivation and reducing the attraction of Your job. That's why one week off the PC is so valuable overall.

No. 2
Different country offers different activities. The 1st thing on my mind when I hear Austria is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and when You bust in a tournament, You can sense it by Your own eyes. Or ears :f_pleased: I'm more a sports man than a bohemian, but those 3 hours of Mozart's "Don Gioavanni" was simply breathtaking!

No. 3
I spent time with the ones I love! This time I invited parents to come with me, and it was a long time since we were together for a whole week. Both of them had their birthdays in January, so we had lots of activities to celebrate it, which I'm sure they enjoyed greatly!

No. 4
Another flag on the fridge! That makes my 17th Europe country out of 51. Still a long way to grab them all :f_confused:

No. 5
I realized once again that if I want to make a success at poker tables, I shouldn't stop studying it, and probably study even harder than I did until now.

And because it is the 1st day of the new month, January should be reviewed if it was on a Yearly Goals path.

1. Make 8 poker trips
MPN Austria, January 26-30 - 0€
Kings of Tallin, February 21-26
MPN Malta, April 27-30

One completed, 7 to come, 2 already planned.
2. Top5 tournament player on Microgaming
Although I made some money in January from MTT's, I'm not even in Top 30 at this moment. But I do know that this task needs a lot of stamina, which I still have :f_cool:
3. Reach Blackmember

I played 736 Spins at the 7$ limit, which wouldn't catch a Black Status. I believe I can increase the number to 1000 games with extra 1-2 hours a week to make my goal closer.
4. Everlasting study of poker
I didn't study Spins theory at all last month, what still allowed me to reach 5% ROI. I hope with 2 hours a week of studying it, I could reach 7% and that would allow me to try 15$ Spins in March.
5. Fully equip home for an ordinary life

This is how my future workplace looks at the moment. No internet connection yet :f_frown:
6. To maintain strong relationship with others
Looking from my perspective, very happy with this section :f_cool:
7. Increase weight to 85 kg
Still on 82. At least it is stable now :f_eek:
8. To hold a healthy body through proper nutrition
I decided to include my meal goals into weekly tasks so I could keep track of it. So far, happy with my eatings :f_drink:
9. Finish in Top5 Top Kickers
Season only starts in 3 months, so we will count the chickens into Autumn only.
10. Read 12 books
David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell
Gargantua and Pantagruel by Francois Rabelais (in progress)

To conclude, I'm quite happy with the start of the Year. Could be slightly better, but I reserve this success for the future months :f_cool:

Good day grinders :f_thumbsup:

New week starts and here are results of still acting bankroll challenge:
Week 20
MTT Hands 1716
Spins played 181

Profit (loss) 275 €
Total bankroll 13 226 €
Previous bankroll 12 991 €
Starting bankroll 3 000 €
Target bankroll 15 000 €

Slowly navigating to my target, but at least it is traveling to the right direction :f_cool:
The biggest Live tournament series in Lithuania is taking place right now so with a little of success, the milestone might be reached. I'm already on Day2 in the main event with double average stack, but still more than 150 players left. According to payouts, I need to reach FinalTable to complete my challenge, and my eyes are glancing exactly there :f_eek:

Plans for a week:
1. 10 hours MTT online
2. 12 hours Spins
3. 2 Live tournaments
4. Update forum 5 times
5. Read "Card Player" Magazine
6. PokerStrategy Video 2 hours
7. Spins Video 2 hours
8. Psychology Video 2 hours
9. Review 1 MTT

Have a positive week all!

Guess who have a 3rd stack in the Main event day 3? :f_ugly:
289,000 in use as average 115,000 with the blinds 1500/3000. Still 70 players left and only 62 get paid, but that's not the place I am aiming for :f_cool:

The bad news, I won't be able to complete all weekly tasks. The good news - chiplead at the final table :f_cool:

It was 6 a.m. when organizers decided to call a day and finish tournament on Friday when Final Table was set. In front of me towers of 2 millions, while average is around 800k. All players guaranteed at least 1k€, winner takes 16k€. Fingers crossed :sfishy:

Unfortunately I couldn't exploit my big stack and finished in 5th position. Still 4,300€ has supplement my account and it means that my another Bankroll Challenge is complete :f_thumbsup:
The Final Table didn't go my way and I was card dead for the 5 hours. Got once AQ and busted a shortie, next premium JJ didn't hold against Turned 2 pair. Final hand - SB open limps and I jam A♣:4♦: 12BB from big blind. He snaped me with QQ, though previous 5 limps he had trash :f_cool:
I've posted one hand in the hand in a discussion section, which probably could have been played differently. Any comments appreciated!

As I wrote earlier, I needed Final Table to complete my Bankroll Challenge, and 5th place did exactly that :f_cool:

So now I do need a new Challenge, which should last for the whole year. I'm not sure if 50k€ a year is a realistic target, but that's what I'm aiming _grin:
Anyone for a sidebet? _evil:

2017 Bankroll Challenge
Starting bankroll 5 386€
Target bankroll 50 000€

As for this week tasks, those looks like this:
1. Play 500 Spins
2. Play 1 MTT session online
3. Play 1 Live tournament
4. Watch Theory Video 2 hours
5. Watch Psychology Video 2 hours
6. Watch Spins Video 2 hours
7. Forums and articles 5 hours
8. Book hotel and travel tickets for "Kings of Talinn" which starts next week
9. Finish reading Magazine "Card Player"

More Spins this week, as I'm a bit off track for Yearly Spin Goals and being offline next week wouldn't help me :f_smile:

Congrats on completing your challenge!

Studying is good and all. But obviously continuing to grow a beard is the most +EV thing you can do:f_thumbsup:

Good luck with the challenge!

As I'm participating in The Blog Job promotion, I made myself a task to play 1000 Spins in February. It takes me 4 hours to play 100 Spins, so around 40 hours should be spent on this. At this moment I've passed 500 Spins mark, but due to my inability to play online next week, I must finish the challenge this week. I guess that means no parties on weekend :f_frown:

My 1st week on new Challenge went quite Ok, as I made some profit from playing Spins mostly. This week I'm going to participate into "Kings of Tallinn" and that means no grinding online :f_cool: This month I've played 842 Spins, so I only will have 1 day to reach 1000 milestone as February is so short. Anyway, I love challenges :f_thumbsup:

The results of the 1st week
2017 Bankroll Challenge
Week 1
Spins played 505
MTT hands 1185

Profit 314
Current bankroll 5 700 €
Starting bankroll 5 386 €
Target bankroll 50 000 €

Did I manage to complete all my weekly tasks? Almost :f_wink:
1. Play 500 Spins - played 505
2. Play 1 MTT session online - Sunday session
3. Play 1 Live tournament - Wednesday evening
4. Watch Theory Video 2 hours - Looked PokerStrategy new coach Samni video + EPT Malta Highrollers Final Table
5. Watch Psychology Video 2 hours - PokerStrategy 5 Videos about nutrition
6. Watch Spins Video 2 hours - Both PokerStrategy Videos
7. Forums and articles 5 hours - 4 hours, 1 missing :f_confused:
8. Book hotel and travel tickets for "Kings of Talinn" which starts next week - booked

9. Finish reading Magazine "Card Player" - didn't event touch :f_confused:

3 hours missed, but I am happy with my overall commitment. Non-poker related tasks were completed with a good score, giving me even more motivation and positive thoughts. As for the coming week, I won't have too many different tasks as most of my time will be spent on Live Tables. Still I will point my routine exercises, so I won't get too lazy:f_smile:

1. Summarize which events I want to attend in "Kings of Tallinn" festival
2. 5 hours of MTT Videos
3. 2 hours Psychology Videos
4. Do well in the Main Event :f_cool:
5. Update blog 5 times
6. Finish that Magazine I failed last week :f_confused:

Good luck all of You! :f_thumbsup:
