Hi PokerStrategy !
I am new to this forum, I found it while looking for spin & go strategies. I knew the french version, I used to watch a lot of video content a few years ago but I never registered on any poker related forum. I hope I will finally become a winning player after all.
I am 23 years old, French living in Montreal since October. I work in the video game industry. I have a sound engineering degree and switched to the video game industry a year ago because it is a more profitable business than music at the moment. Also, the interactive part is really fun to work with. I create/record/edit and integrate sounds in game engines.
My poker experience starts with friends, playing for a few euros, not even knowing the rules. We loved it and quickly went loosing extra bucks at local casinos. I then decided to learn more about it and started playing online. I play usually for few months in a row, loose my littl bankroll, and stop for months. Then something happens and I start playing again. I never won but I am not a big looser either. When grinding mtts, I do a lot of min cashes. Cash game, small losses over thousands of hands but overall, I loose my BR everytime.
This year, I wasn't playing for like 2 years and my roomate asked me if I'd follow him at Montreal's casino to play a 60$ mtt. I thought it could be fun and ended in final table. I busted QQ vs KJ, vilain hit the K on the flop. I was 8bb deep and trying to double up and get to another payout level. I ended 7th/131 for a total of 4,1buy ins.
As you may think, that final table totally got me back into poker and I decided to give it another try. Started with 100$ on ps.com, lost a 1/3 of it on 150mtts (only min cashes, no decent win). I then tried zoom at different limits. I had a good run for 5k hands in nl2 then lost again. That's when I found about the 0.25 spins, I thought it could be a good idea with what was left of my bankroll (approximately 30$).
So here I am. If you guys want to give a look at my BR Challenge and share any advice, here is the link : https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2628167#post2628167
