Hello,
I have been trying to learn Spin and Goes, and the part I struggle the most is the HU portion (in fact, I have something like 39% second place finishes over almost 200 spins, which I think indicates my HU game sucks).
The thing is, I get very lost when playing with shallow stacks (<11BB effective), where Open miraising/cbetting makes you almost pot commited. How do you handle these situations? Just push-fold using Nash? And what about if villain minraises his buttons? Do you have a limping range? How does your minraising range look?
I know it's a broad question, and I'd be more than happy with some pointers to videos/articles/books on the subject. It's hard to find good HUSNG material for free (or silver status), and I lack the fundamental concepts of wide range play.
As an example, here is a hand where I felt totally lost:
PokerStars - 40/80 NL (3 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4
BB: 8.12 BB (VPIP: 42.86, PFR: 23.08, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 49)
Hero (SB): 10.62 BB
Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 7♠ T♦
Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB checks
Flop: (2 BB, 2 players) 8♥ Q♠ J♠
BB checks, Hero bets 1.5 BB, BB calls 1.5 BB
Turn: (5 BB, 2 players) 8♦
BB checks, Hero checks
River: (5 BB, 2 players) T♠
BB checks, Hero checks
Resutl:
Spoiler
BB shows K♦ J♥ (Two Pair, Jacks and Eights)
(Pre 66%, Flop 78%, Turn 91%)
Hero mucks 7♠ T♦ (Two Pair, Tens and Eights)
(Pre 34%, Flop 22%, Turn 9%)
BB wins 5 BB
Thank you for any help.
Cheers,
Kerith
