Word of the Day

querulous

Definition 1: habitually complaining
2 : fretful, whining

Life has been very busy lately and I have decided not to whine on about it, rather with a few hours spare tonight my plan is to deposit a whole £12 ($16 dollars) and have a crack at doubling it!
Which way I go with it is my dilemma. Should I play tournaments or open a couple of cash tables up??
My game lately has been pretty awful and verging on embracing at times :mdr: The biggest reason behind this being that I don't pay attention to what is going on, my games are normally surrounded with talking to others and general background distractions.
My whole life I have been easily distracted and balancing this sometimes can be a nightmare. Taking on too much is definitely a personal leak of mine and results in taking longer to get certain jobs done! In Cornwall there is a saying for this, 'I will do it drekley!'

So my plan for the next few months while waiting for the sale to go through is to put aside time for poker. One more shot on stars :why: Another go to win it big with their daily challenges and maybe win more star coins than you can shake a stick at from those mysterous chests!

It would be nice also to be better with 8-Game by the end of the next few months! Many thanks to Vorpal for suggesting we host some games in the Players Club. I have tuned into your Twich channel but wasn't able to hear your advise the first few matches as I had no sound on my end, but I must have looked a bit crazy when it came to Razz and Stud! But tonight I have headphones and have looked at the dumbies guide to both formats :profit:

Big thank you also to pokerplayernumber1 for his support in helping me out :f_drink: and I look forward to our game tonight.

Word of the Day

riposte

Definition 1: a fencer's quick return thrust following a parry
2 : a retaliatory verbal sally : retort
3 : a retaliatory maneuver or measure

It seems like a long time since I last updated my blog. There has been a lot going on since my last update. But doesn't seem to be much progress :f_biggrin:

Poker wise, I am still dabbling on the tables with a very limited BR and equally limited progression. I did though have a boost from the Deal which always helps :f_drink:

This would have to be the most I have ever won so far in this quirky little game. Hopefully next time I get a chest I will have a better run and win the lot!!
I did take advantage of a second starting capital on Corel and have had limited success. Well I lost the BR after a continuous bad beat marathon. At the moment all I do is log on for the daily ticket and free roll. Hopefully I can resurrect this bank roll over the next month.

Off the tables I am still house hunting. Have gone to see a few now and like my poker life, everything is great until the river card! So many nice places I could have but there is always something that ruins the deal. The most annoying part of it being facts that are never stated until you have gone to the property and wasted a good day finding them out.

The biggest reason for selling up and moving is for health and a nicer city that hasn't been ruined by local incompetent councillors and politicians purposely devaluing the area.
In a way their are many reasons to sell up and get the F*** out of dodge. I still have a few properties on the list and look forward to finding that special one! There is one which would suite every box I have. But It is just out of the budget :f_cry: It comes with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room. 5 bedrooms and located in a nice area. This would be ideal but I would have to try and win the Sunday million to make it achiveable :mdr:

My plan for the next few days while the weather is good and everyone is off for bank holiday are to play a few tounaments and home games. hopefully I can report some fantastic news in my next update.

Untill then, very good luck at the tables :f_drink:

Back in the Bank Roll Challenge!!

So decided to have another crack at the challenge. This time starting from the bottom with $20 and a first goal of $100 :f_drink:
Hopefully this time I can achieve it!
My choice of weapon is No Limit cash beginning on the 1c/2c tables. My choice of style is The Sniper. Taking out pots with only the best of the best :f_thumbsup: And sometimes missing, but hopefully not to often :f_biggrin:

Word of the Day

mise-en-scène

Definition1 a : the arrangement of actors and scenery on a stage for a theatrical production
b : stage setting
2 a : the physical setting of an action (as of a narrative or a motion picture) : context
b : environment, milieu

BR: 16.44

Last couple of days I have been 4 tabling 1c/2c tables full ring and done around 500 and per session. In a nutshell it's been comparable to taking a few months of work and then your first day back being the worst day of your work life ever.

At the end of the first few days I am down a modest 2 buy ins after a fantastic fight involving some really crazy cracks.
Unfortunately the email account to which my HM2 is registered no longer exists and I cant get my licence, which mean I haven't been able to give you a good solid graph and stats.

So with that in mind I have recorded some of the action to post later for you. Overall I am not too disappointed and will get use to the trigger happy all in drunks you find at these levels. :f_drink:

Hi Tara771, thanks for dropping by and I look forward to reading how you get on in your challenge :f_thumbsup: Keep crushing those tablings and good luck :f_drink:

Hi Primrose. Will I be giving up on tournament play completely?

Spoiler

When ever I can my plan is to continue my pursuit for 1st place in the daily dollar rebuy. Its a really easy game to manage with 10 min blinds along with the small field and I have had more cashes in this game than any of the Bigs or KO. I shall keep you posted on how I get on with that.

Off the tables the search for the ideal house is starting to get interesting and I believe that I have found the one and if my negotiations go well next week hopefully I can marry up moving in with completion, which is not long. :deadhappy:

The Big 1.10 $, the Big 0,55 $ and the Hot 0,55 $ are really cool! Or those 1.10 $ and 0,50 $ Bounty Builder PKOs! Those I can recommend, they are really FUN!!!!

The Hot 2.20 $ is also cool, but not yet for you (but soon?).

Thanks for the reminder Prim :f_thumbsup: I will try some over the next few days. Today though hasn't been +EV and I have struggled to make any progress on cash. I am still in the daily dollar but dragging my feet through it and hopefully I can come back soon with better news.

Hand of the day on cash today

Also just got one of these boxes!! Wonder what's in it??

Word of the Day

fustigate play

Definition1 : to beat with or as if with a short heavy club : cudgel
2 : to criticize severely

Stormy Weather
BR $23.92

Anyone who has had the very unfortunate experience of heading out to sea during a storm might know that feeling of dread and apprehension well. This is the same feeling I have been having over the past few days with cash!
I know its a little over board but that very feeling is what it has been like. Overall I am up at the end of today's cash session, though it has been choppy waters throughout.
Over the last week my goal has been to achieve around 300 hands per day and play the daily dollar.
Overall I have roughly done about 1700 hands and played 2 daily dollars last week. My results from the last game was finishing in 140th and taking home $4.95 winnings :f_drink:

Todays daily dollar has just started and once again I hope to cash! From the past many games I am starting to understand the regs and this has really helped me get far in the game. Stupidly I am running without a HUD at the moment due to loosing my HM2 licence and he email account I am registered with no longer excites
But running without a hud has been helpful in a lot of ways! I pay more attention to the tables and have rethought my note taking. All in all this has helped in reducing bad beats and maniacs found at these low levels. The regs have also been interesting and I am slowly finding my feet when dealing with them.
Still with that said I am making mistakes, and realising them quickly and adjusting to this quickly before any sniff of the tilt presents its self!

Had a think about it and decided that I should incorporate these games into my weekend schedule :milord:
If a freak occurrence should happen and I win big on them then I am buying you a big $22 ticket prim!!

There is supposed to be a thunder storm incoming for the last few days! It hasn't yet arrived but I hope it hurries up as the weather needs clearing, but not before I finish my game!

BR $37.83

Ran out of time to do a proper undate today. Played 350 hands in the morning and ended up a dollar up. After having guests over for the best part of the day I managed to play an evening home game with Vorpal and La55i and won this time. Good game :profit:
Looking forward to our games on Friday and after tomorrow's house viewing I shall be putting pen to paper to come up with a novel'ish home game. Had this idea rattling about for a while now.
Hopefully tomorrow I have a solution to the house nightmare that goes with selling, finding the perfect place to live!
People say it is the most stressful event of your life.
I 100% agree!

The big reason for this sell up and relocation is for health and a peaceful life
Get the chance to really make a go at concerntrating on getting my degree and succeeding in poker. The overall plan finishes with moving one last time to Vancouver and finding a nice place near Nanaimo.
Health wise I use to swim every morning and every night. The big bonus about the house I am viewing is the indoor pool, sauna and steam room!

Fingers crossed I will have everything I need under one roof.

roseate

Definition1 :resembling a rose especially in color
2 : overly optimistic : viewed favorably

What a disaster! Total stupid! Very Bad luck!

BR: $12.80

A complete swing from the previous weeks resulting in a loss of more than half my bankroll
I can't help blame myself for half of it though. The reason behind my tragic loss was NL5!! My thinking being that I could open two tables while playing tournaments at the same time. I wanted to just skim and play a nice tight game. With most of my premium hands and certs I was cracked over and over with most of the crashes happening on the river
In all honestly I should have known better but one very good point to hang on to was I played my closest A-Game for a while.
I am having no luck at the moment with HM2 and still getting use to H2N so I can't really produce any worthwhile graphs. I do have a couple of the cor blimey moments

This hand was a loss of patience with villain who had previous been challenging me with junk hands.

Not giving up and today I am hoping for a result in the daily dollar. I may try and skim on NL2 where I should be!

Haha I agree Prime :f_drink:
We had exchange of contracts today so officially sold the house!! We got 99% of what we were asking price and tomorrow I find out if we have successfully got the new house. Now I have nerves and hopefully this won't put me on tilt for the home games tonight :f_thumbsup:

Quick Update

Sadly the house I was looking to get fell through today. The owner decided against moving :why: So no Swimming pool, sauna and steam room
So a re-think is on the cards. One idea on the table is 6 months break in Vancouver! Maybe some live games if anyone knows some good casinos :f_drink:
