Quads With Benefits

This is a sister site to Natural8 -- but the players are shared
(I think)
In any case, you can sign up to Natural 8 and take advantage of the bonus offer here:
https://www.pokerstrategy.com/natural8/freeplay/

In any case, I came very close to folding this, but I think my equity here is high enough to gamble ...

They that "Nothing could be funner than to win with runner runner", but flopping quads and having villain jam ahead of you is way up there on the fun list...

And the benefits? How about an extra 7 bucks for the big hand jackpot...

Cheers,
VS

What a Wild Ride!

At one point in this tournament I was down to less than a big bet, but several hands later I was not only in it, I was quite in it.
I hit the nuts on the 2nd draw, but just flat-called to try to keep the Button in the hand. When he threw in his last chips I figured we would split the pot but...

The Coolest of Coolers

Not sure how many of you have seen the new Badugi Math thread, but this draw was about as sick as it gets on a Badugi table, not to mention a final table.

Fortunately, I was on the right side of it this time.

Did I ship it afterwards? Well, sorry to say, but 2nd place had to do this time.

Death on 7th Street

I played some Stud8 (Stud Hi/Lo split) cash on stream today, just for variety
The death mentioned in the title was not mine.

Feral Cow Poker
PokerStars Limit Stud Hi/Lo $0.10/$0.20 ante $0.02 - 7 players

Seat 1: $6.34 [X] [X] 4♥:
Seat 2: $0.42 [8♠: ] [9♠: ] T♠:5♦:3♣:6♠: [7♥: ]
Seat 3: $2.31 [X] [X] T♥:
Seat 4: $3.03 [X] [X] 5♣:
Seat 5: $14.30 [X] [X] 4♦:
Seat 6: $9.47 5♠:2♥:7♣:4♠:A♠:T♣:3♥: (Hero)
Seat 8: $11.93 [6♣: ] [K♣: ] K♦:T♦:3♠:K♠: [7♦: ]

3rd Street: ($0.14) (7 players)
Seat 5 brings, Hero raises to $0.10, Seat 8 raises to $0.20, Seat 1 folds, Seat 2 raises to $0.30, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.20, Seat 8 raises to $0.40, Seat 2 calls $0.10 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.10

4th Street: ($1.34) (3 players)
Seat 8 bets $0.10, Hero calls $0.10

5th Street: ($1.54) (3 players)
Hero bets $0.20, Seat 8 calls $0.20

6th Street: ($1.94) (3 players)
Seat 8 bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.40, Seat 8 raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.20

River: ($3.14) (3 players)
Seat 8 checks, Hero bets $0.20, Seat 8 calls $0.20

Seat 2 showed, HI: a straight, Six to Ten; LO: 8,7,6,5,3
Hero showed, HI: a straight, Ace to Five; LO: 5,4,3,2,A
Seat 8 mucked, 6♣:K♣:K♦:T♦:3♠:K♠:7♦:
Seat 2 won $0.66
Hero won $2.82
(Rake: $0.10)

This hand is a good example of why you need a full stack even at limit tables.
Seat 2 would have had half this pot, and I would only have had the low pot if his stack could handle at least 2 bets on each street -- there are 2 streets at the small bet ($0.10) and 3 at the big bet ($0.20) -- not to mention the $0.02 ante.

Therefore the absolute minimum to have at the table would be $1.02 -- and really you should be able to cap each street so $3.22 total including the ante.

All the best,
VS

That's actually one of the things I prefer about draw games compared to Hold'em style games with community cards. They don't have those annoying "this would have been your hand" situations.

This is also why I avoid rabbit hunting on networks that allow it. You have nothing to gain at this point, so why risk the tilt?

The Value of Notes

Villain in this hand like to 3-Bet, and in NL 5-Card Draw this often means trips, but he has 3-Bet flush draws before, and many of my notes on him end with "A/ B U" for "post-draw, bets unimproved"

So ...
