The PLO-god had more mercy with me ..

..than the Holdem-god today. :f_ugly: Played PLO4 on Unibet for about 2 hours and my PLO-session went a bit better than my Holdem-session today :f_ugly:. It started well:

Then lost one stack with acies (overpair and nut flush draw) blind vs blind, lost another one with trips (should have found the fold-button  ), ran into FH blind vs blind, then could double up a couple of times and takes some stacks and half-stacks :profit:, didn´t hit really much, some turns sucked big time, folded a str8 on a paired pot to a pot-sized river-bet.

Raised on the BTN first-in, SB and BB call. BB donks in 0,75 pot, I raise the pot and then on the turn the board pairs (and I whisper some curses :f_ugly: ), turn goes check-check and on river BB bets out the pot. I decided to fold.

What else? Well not really much, up and down as PLO is. :f_biggrin:

Came out with an okay-winning of about 1,5 stacks up: +7€.

Some stomach flu but....

Felt like picking up four cards anyway. Played mostly PLO4 and a little bit PLO10 on Unibet. My todays session was pretty nice, got quads two times, lost two stacks vs no-fold-button-maniac with ss and ds acies (we got it in pre), could make some nice draws, took about 3/4 stack in PLO10, but missed also a lot of flops, so altogether a pretty normal session. Came out with about 1,5 stacks up, +6€.

This was my first little session of the day, let´s see how I feel, cause quit my session due to not feeling so well, let´s see how I´m gonna feel later, maybe gonna play some more ...?

Feeling better and ....

played another session of about 2 hours. This one was really nice with more value hands which got well payed. In one hand I was the one who payed, flopped a Q-high flush, got it in HU (was BB vs BTN) and looked straight into the A-high flush. Well.... :sifflote: I think I should have found the fold button :sifflote:

Played PLO4 and PLO10 on Unibet and this hand here is my hand of the day:

Can´t complain about +24€ but now I´m tired....

is good you stacked it off with queen high flush
altough villain could have the king high flush
villain surely can bluff with the ace blocker
so i don't know, it could be a fold
i don't know if 100%
omaha is complicated

So, the hand went like this:

PLO4
I´m sitting in the BB, looking at J♠ T♠ Q♥ 8♥
Everbody folds to the BTN - who raises pot
SB calls, I call
The flop comes: K♥ J♥ 3♥
It goes check-check, BTN bets half pot
SB folds and I x/r pot
BTN re-raises and we get it in, BTN shows A♥ T♥ -x-x

I hold the second nut-flush. We are in PLO4 where people tend to overplay worse flushes or any other hand like sets, even on this board. I not only hold flush-blockers while having a flush myself, but there is only one flush-combo that beats me, that´s the A-high flush. All other flushes I beat and vs a set I get it in good. A set has around 40 % equity or so.

A little early session ...

which went not really spectacular. Played a bit more PLO10 today, found out that the PLO10 players were even worse than the PLO4-players so I stuck a while at PLO10. But took just small pots, missed a lot of flops or the turn brought a card that I really didn´t wanna see so I had to fold my hand. No big pot won, no big pot lost, and so the session went break-evenish with -0,45€ or so. :f_ugly:

Session 2.0 ..

So, my second session of the day went bad! - at the beginning. Oh boy, didn´t hit anything and lost one stack with a set and one with ssacies, didn´t hit my draws and often had to fold turn (mainly cause board paired). Rough start, huh? :f_ugly: Played a mix of PLO10 and PLO4 while was actually was happy to see a bad maniac at one of my tables. But hit nothing! Patience, patience! After a while the good hands came, the sets held up or made FHs and some nice draws hit. Could take a stack from that maniac I mentioned and after that happened he went on tilt! ...... and I got solid hands and even made a "hero-call" against him. So, you can guess what happened, huh? :sifflote: Took about 3 stacks from him, until he had enough of me. :sifflote:

This overcooked a bit in my head and then I made a HUGE fish-play. :wtf::facepalm: I had acies and hit the set. Didn´t watch the board and the SPR and boom! As I realized my fish-play on turn SPR was 1 and had to get it in and lost vs str8. Good that Villain was not with the full stack at the table. :sifflote:

The rest went fine, a couple of stupid calls here and there, but nice: +27€. :nh:

Mini practice session

Just played a mini-session (about 1 hour) to practice what we have learnt yesterday in the PLO-course with Kyyberi. Concentrated not only on the starting hands but also on flop play: when to c-bet, when not, board texture..etc. Made one stupid mistake with A♠ K♥ K♣ 3♠. I was in the BB and BTN raises after everybody had folded. SB min-3-bets and I decided to 4-bet (guess that was not so good). BTN calls, SB calls. The flop comes dry with Q♥ 8♣ 4♦. I decide to get it in vs 2 Villains and loose vs a set of 888. Shouldn´t have 4-bet, just called and evaluate flop I think? This one was bad!

The rest I think went okay, one hand where I´m not sure, which I will post in the Hand Analysis section.

Anyway a mini-winning with something like +1,50€ :f_ugly::f_ugly:...so pretty break-evenish. :f_ugly:

I seem to recall Kyyberi saying something like "You won't make money cold-calling 3Bets"
That probably is doubly true if out of position.

Even so, I think that with a suited Ace, and a pair of Kings ...

OTF your entire hand is an overpair with a backdoor broadway.

Welcome to the rollercoaster ride!

This is PLO :mdr:

My todays session started really good! Made nice winnings in PLO10 and PLO4. Then I decided to play some more PLO4 and that´s where the rollercoaster ride begun. First lost acies vs acies (Villain hit flush), well alrighty! Then lost twice with topset vs gutshot and runner-runner flush. :mdr: Then had to fold the underfull. Then lost with a full house vs 2-outer on the river :f_o: Had FH 888AA, Villain calls my 0,75 pot bet on a 5-8-8-A-board with QQxx, river: Q. Came out of my session (cause tired now) and well..... break-evenish +/- 2 €. :f_ugly:

But the most important thing is, that I got it in good on flop/turn :f_thumbsup:

You will get used to it I think. :f_cool:
Be happy when you got it in with the best equity, thats always a good sign imo. :f_thumbsup:

When I decided to grind PLO, I knew it. I knew that I will play a high-variance action-game and the chance that somebody hits his miracle card is way higher than in Holdem. I´m not angry or sad about that, it´s always nice having such players at the table, because they will fully pay out your value hands. :f_love:

We´re hunting bounties today

Saturday is cheat day! That means on Saturdays I play whatever I wanna play. Made my choice! I think there is always a reason to play Omaha! :f_love:

Decided to put a little amount on Partypoker and play the 1.10 $ and 0,2 $ Bounty Hunter PKO-MTTs! Further, gonna play the 0,5 € PLO Sputnik on Unibet.

Well 3 Bounties and a little winning ...

but not in the tourneys, but in CG :f_ugly: After I busted from the MTTs I played a little PLO4 and PLO10, met fellow-reg Ghaleon at the tables and we had big fun! In CG I´m one PLO4 stack up: +4€. Not much but better than nothing right? :f_thumbsup:

CG-fun with Ghale!

Hit again the first the PLO4 tables and then the PLO10 tables with fellow-reg "Ghaleon". Today, I think I played well and getting better and better. Of course I´m not always 100 % sure in some spots and the nuts often get payed well by recreational players: or they hit their miracle card? :f_ugly: At the beginning of my session I played some PLO4 and could collect some nice pots. After a while I lost a stack to top set vs some draw. PLO4 tables got pretty boring and so I opened more PLO10 tables. There too, I was pretty card-dead first, missed most flops. Then I lost a stack with a set 888, didn´t watch the board properly - should have folded river but didn´t. Villain had made his str8 and I was so focussed on my set and nut flush draw that I totally forgot other draws :f_o:. So there it went, my stack. Fishy call on river there!

Then the good hands came and top sets held, str8s got payed and full houses too. Could take 3 stacks, lost another one with overpair and nut-flush draw vs pair and str8- and worse-flush-draw (hit his miracle card to trips). Could then take another big pot with QQTTss and top set and of course took small pots without showdown. Got tired and had 2 quit cause didn´t play my A-game anymore. Ghale and I clashed a couple of times and the chips went just back and forth...between us somehow.... :mdr:

When I close the table I saw the result: almost exactly one stack up, about +10€.

Hitting something...

that would have been nice! My todays PLO session didn´t go really great. Just missed a lot of boards or had to look at turn- and rivercards which I really did not want to see! Got sucked out on with middle set: gutshot with no flushdraw (flop had 2 hearts) got there, lost with the nutflush on the river when the board paired :f_rolleyes: (got it in on turn, a set called), what else? Could stack off twice with a set, the rest went just totally missing boards and not making draws.

Well then, 2 stacks down: -8€.

Ladies and gentlemen: Welcome to downswing-city in PLO!

Sooner or later it had to hit me. Today was really brutal! Barely a flop hit and 5 suckouts. :f_o: 3 times board paired then I had the nutstr8 on the turn, then two times got sucked out with a set vs naked str8-draw or flushdraw or even gutters hit on the river. :f_o: Meanwhile could maybe hit like 3 flops or so, okay, with those I doubled up, but got really otherwise a bunch of nothing. Every c-bet got called and turn and/or river hit or had to fold my hand due to nasty card on the turn. So a huge bunch of really nasty stuff, moved then down from PLO10 to PLO4 and played there. Too late, unfortunately 5 stacks down: -50 €. Nasty but ...... well, that´s the way it is.
