Hello, maybe a noob question but how can I insert and image in forum posts? So it would show the image directly instead of its URL.

Just drag your picture file in to your post and the picture will be uploaded.
That's the easiest way to post pictures here.

The drag-and-drop works if the image is on your local computer.
If you already have the URL -- and the picture is already on the internet somewhere just click the picture icon on the message toolbar (6th from the left), and paste the URL into the box that appears.
why are you not making ctrl+v insert ? that would be much more convenient and time saving.

Do you know of any other forums where you can paste images into posts?
Most forums I use are based on software called BBCode (I think) and AFAIK it doesn't have this function.

I looked for a paste image function, but didn't find it.

Yes, I do, for example dailypriceaction.com paid members area.
Also made quick search and fuond this:

There they mentioned that it works on this forum http://ea117dcfanfavorites.com/index.php , I have registered to test and it really works. In forum they mentioned this - https://github.com/senky/phpbb-ext-clipboardimage maybe this can help doing that functionality.
