I won a $5.50 ticket in a spin on Monday, so I'll be playing that on stream at http://bit.ly/maugr1s
I haven't done well in these starting at the very beginning -- there is 160 minutes of late reg, which I find far too long.

I really need to make the effort to learn how to play hold'em MTTs properly.
That's where the money is.
I seem to do OK playing the ultra-hyper freerolls, but in the long, slow MTTs I fare rather poorly.

I decided to play a $3.30 PLO8 MTT on 888 since my BR is really close to $300, but I got overly aggro at the wrong time and squandered a fantastic opportunity.

In any case, I'll be playing more PLO8 on 888 along with the daily freerolls and tickets.

I made half the tournament losses back playing PLO8 10 cash

I'll have another go on-stream this Thursday The stream usually starts at 19:00 UTC at http://bit.ly/maugr1s

Hi Vorpal!

First of all congrat for your results! :f_drink:
There is $0.08 left on my 888 account, so I am facing with the same challenge. For the rirst step, I managed to cash $3.07 on a tournament with a free $1 ticket.
I would like to know, if you would start this challenge again, would you start it with $0,4 Don SnG-s or $0.1 10 handed SnGs?

I would play the freerolls
You can't lose -- you can only win.
Once you've won sufficient, you could begin with NL 2 cash if you're comfortable playing hold'em -- which I'm not.

Well, that isn't entirely true -- I'm comfortable, I just don't do so well

I've played some NL 5 once I hit 100 but kept on losing 2 or 3 BI then gained it back again.

Here is the current giraffe:

And here are the different games I've played and the results

I had my 2nd best finish in an 888 freeroll tonight, finishing 5th of 3129.
To bad it was $50 affair, so I win a buck.
It all adds up though.

I won another $5.00 ticket today using a standard daily spin ticket.
These are a lot tougher than they used to be, since only the top 200 get a ticket -- today 7,777 runners -- so a top 1% finish (see the spoiler)
I only made one play I thought was marginal.
Pacific Poker - 12500/25000 Ante 5000 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 101,633
BTN: 106,211
SB: 63,011
BB: 98,838
Hero (UTG): 62,110
UTG+1: 11,908
MP: 47,525
MP+1: 122,090
MP+2: 85,869

9 players post ante of 5,000, SB posts SB 12,500, BB posts BB 25,000

Pre Flop: (pot: 82,500) Hero has 8♠:8♣:

Hero raises to 57,110 and is all-in, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold

Hero wins 107,500

I say marginal because I was UTG, and about to go through the blinds, and they were to go up within a minute.
Since at this stage, many players are taking all the time allowed, I wasn't confidant I could make it to the money by folding.

In the next hand I got a walk, and coasted through to the tickets.
Had I folded the 8s though, and had I not got the walk, I would have blinded out 4 hands later, and got the ticket on the 5th hand.

I'll be playing the $5.00 ticket live at http://bit.ly/maugr1s starting (usually) at 19:00 UTC

I sat down to play this morning, and discovered that the ticket I won in the freeroll on Friday expired this morning.
So sorry -- I played it off stream.
The good news: I came 3rd for $131.51 making this my biggest 888 win to date.
The https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3146349#post3146349 set me up for the run to the FT, and once there I had a lot of help from some flips that held.

Today's win represents 43% of my stack, so the total now is $434.35 and the giraffe looks like this:

Dang! that looks good!
Starting next Wednesday, I'll be buying a bonus with gold tokens just to see how the new bonus rules look.

I'll be playing either NL 10 or PLO8 10 on my stream
Streams are M,Th & F at 19:00 UTC

Opportunity Knocks

I won a $16.50 Big Fish ticket in today's spin
It should be in my account in time for Thursday's or Friday's stream this week
There are two of these each day, one at 18:00 UTC with a 15K guarantee and one at 19:30 UTC with only 5K guaranteed.
The first one has a starting stack of 50,000 and the second one only 5,000
Both have 12-minute blinds.
The $15K GTD has 3hr 15 min late reg, the $5K GTD has 2hr 15 min late reg.

I'm leaning toward the deep-stacked version, but I'll observe both today to see which -- if any -- has the smaller field.

Any comments or suggestions about which would be the better choice?

888 Bonus Report

I cashed 1000 gold tokens, and received a $10 bonus

The astute among you will notice that my balance is up a bunch today as well.
I played 79 hands of PLO8 and made $9.13 but there clearly isn't enough traffic to clear a bonus at that rate.

Here is the section that (I assume) will eventually show the bonus getting cleared.

Over the next few days I'll try switching to No Limit Hold'em, but that will be a bit dangerous

More Info:

From the bonus policy
Unless stated otherwise in the applicable Promotion Terms: (i) immediate (non-pending) bonuses may only be withdrawn after a player has collected 2.5 Bonus Points for every $1 of the received bonus amount.

From the comp-points page
You can earn BPs by:
:diamond:  Playing in poker ring games -earn 2 BPs (if applicable) for every $1 of your contributed rake.*
:diamond:  Playing poker tournaments -earn 2 BPs (if applicable) for every $1 of tournament fee.

From this I conclude that I need to earn 25 bonus points.
I further conclude that I need to pay $12.50 in contributed rake.

According to PokerTracker, I have so far paid 2.1323 in contributed rake.

Seems too small to me...

Thanks onetimebigtime!
I'm still waiting to hear from 888's tech support on how to tell how many bonus points I have.
I'll be playing NL 10 to try to accomplish that feat.

In the meantime, I won an entry into Day 2 of the $30,000 888Summit
1827 entries into Day 2 already and I'm in 1400th place.
We'll see how that goes.

New Record

Playing NL 10 Cash is quite a challenge. I find myself not having a clue in certain spots.
I find the players aggressive, but often stupidly so.
I've been challenging them by raising back at them, and find that villains fold more often than they call.

I'm in the red v slightly since I started, but v few hands yet.

I was asked on stream a few days ago if all of the winnings are from freerolls.
I went through all the categories, and found that of the ones I know are F/R, the sum is only $146.62
