Yesterday was fun day..

...but was too tired to blog about it. The reason: A pretty deep run in the PLO Bounty Hunter. ♠_smile:

After my Holdem session was just a reason to spit in the blog ♠_ugly: I could succeed with four cards. ♠_smile:

Played the 2.20 $ PLO Big Bounty Hunter on Partypoker and made it ITM, okay, could only KO one Villain but again, was approaching the FT, but also this time I just missed it. Placed 16th out of 398 players. I´m happy with this result, cause I was already SUPER TIRED when we came ITM. ♠_zZz: I struggled with myself for about an hour .... could double up twice ITM but .... Mr. Sandman was calling ♠_ugly:

When I busted with A♣ Q♣ A♥ 6♦ I wasn´t really dissapointed, I was happy that I came so far and that I finally could go to bed! ♠_ugly:

Does party poker still have the think where you get a sound when you get a good hand?

I don´t know if this exists on Party, Vorpal.

Never tried that function.

It is still there.
In your preferences, under multi-tabling you have two categories
Hot Hand Settings:
 Hole Card -- in this one you set a hand minimum, if the hand is better than this you get an alert sound
 Big Pot - You set a size in BB and if the pot gets bigger than this, you get an alert

Why Santa Clause comes in summer (and is a mega Banhauser)

Haven´t updated my blog for a while, I know, but hey, it´s summer! ♠_cool:♠_grin: We are in the middle of the outdoor sports and competition season, so I spend a lot of time outside especially on the tennis court. ♠_thumbsup:♠_smile:

But yesterday, it was again time to see my friend and troll of the year Harrier88. It´s 35°C here but some other friends already talked about Christmas and Christmas cookies ♠_ugly: I complained that to Harrier (which I shouldn´t have done maybe? ♠_ugly:♠_ugly:♠_ugly: ) and of course he found the idea of talking about Christmas great and funny. Alrighty! So when I arrived at Harriers hometown I found "Santa Claus" ♠_o: - well, Harrier picking me up wearing a Santa Clause hat and of course talking about Christmas cakes and cookies. ♠_ugly:♠_ugly: :mdr:

But of course we didn´t eat cake. No! We ate Banhauser!

Okay, Harrier ate Banhauser, I just tried a little bit of his "fire Schnitzel" (swimming in Chili con Carne)

I was brave, guys! I was really brave! Tried just a little piece of this Banhauser-schnitzel ..... but.....

We spent again a very nice and very funny afternoon together with mixed drinks and some "exotic" games ♠_ugly:♠_ugly:

This time some African game, ...... and I had no clue what that exactly should be but the stones were very pretty ♠_love:♠_ugly:♠_ugly:

And of course "Trumpy-bear" has got a new hairstyle ♠_biggrin: But I let Harrier tell you more about that and about the drinks in his blog.

You were indeed very brave trying to eat a bite of that fire schnitzel. I'm proud of you.

Just for the record, I don't usually get Christmas-related stuff until around the end of November either, but I just couldn't resist the opportunity to troll Prim for a bit when she mentioned her tennis pals talking about Christmas cakes etc already. And I did point out that I just happened to listen to Christmas songs the previous night while working on a spreadsheet (which I also usually don't do, but for some reason, I felt like it that night). And yes, I'm also already looking forward to finding those flavored Baumkuchen bits in the stores next month, mostly because I'm looking forward to the colder seasons in general.

But yeah, that's what inspired me to show up in a Santa's hat at the train station when I was picking Prim up, I just couldn't resist. It's actually some Boston Red Sox themed one, it's the only one I have. Here it is worn by my vice president, who is also in a festive mood already, because many experts (who have been wrong before) predict that he'll have a lot more free time during the holidays this year:

And yes, Prim got him a new interesting hair style again. Not quite sure about it, but my VP was a good sport about it, at least.

We tried some classic cocktails and some new ones, and I hope I'll soon have time to post some new photos and recipes in my blog.

The game we played is called Bao, which is a traditional mancala game from East Africa. Not sure how many people are familiar with mancala games in general. Many people who do know term usually associated it with a simpler game, which I believe actually originated from America, based on the traditional African games. In reality, though, mancala can refer to a whole family of games played with rows of pits and stones/seeds to put into them.

See it played here. I'd love to link to a playable online version, but all the links I know from the past have been taken down, it seems. Here's a flash version of the much simpler (and solved) mancala game I mentioned earlier.

It was another very enjoyable visit, so... until next time, Grindette!

Yes, Kyyberi, this is exactly my life at the moment, very well and summarized.

A lot of tennis is going on until the end of September, a lot of social life, some bike tours, a bit less poker than usual, so same procedure as every year in summer. ♠_drink:♠_cool:

Partypoker changed their tournament schedules again and this means some good news and a little bad news for me. Let´s start with the little bad news: The Big Bounty Hunter PLO has been shifted from 8 pm CET to midnight which sucks because I love that tourney. There´s also one at 4 pm CET, so let´s see when I can manage to play that one: probably on a Friday or so? On tennis-free days?

The good news though are: There are now MORE PLO-tourneys between 7 pm and 10 pm on Partypoker!! ♠_love::banana: So, now there´s some Micro Masters PLO, Bounty Hunter PLO and two PLO classic (2.20 $ and 0,2 $ I guess?). So, more PLO in the evenings.

And more tennis at the moment, have a quite busy work schedule in August and also a pretty busy tennis schedule, so I won´t play so much but I continue to play regularly! ♠_thumbsup:

So, as for my yesterdays session: I decided to play less Holdem but more PLO ♠_thumbsup: There´s just so much more fun and so much more profit in PLO! I only played the Holdem "Troll Freeroll" (German freeroll on Titan) which went horribly, but I didn´t really care, cause PLO is more important. Played the 0,5 $ PLO Bounty Hunter and the 1.10 $ MIcro Masters PLO on Partypoker, skipped the God of the Arena and the KO-tourney on 888 (Holdem).

Was pretty tired from my morning tennis training, so decided to play just those 3 MTTs. As already said, the "Troll Freeroll" sucked, in the 0,5 $ PLO Bounty Hunter I busted shy before ITM (okay, so be it) but the Micro Masters PLO went really well! I played patiently, even pretty tight, cause there were so many no-fold-button gamblers that all you have to do is wait patently for a good hand and get it payed - somebody pays for SURE! ♠_tongue:♠_thumbsup:

Got some nice hands from time to time, a str8, top set (which held), could get some pots with good bluffs anyway (some Villains knew where the fold-button is), made three really good calls ("hero calls"), range definition gets better and better (I use to do it during the games when I folded a hand). So I could become big stack already early in the tourney and because no unlucky hand happened I just could hold my stack. My good hands got payed and I made it ITM as big stack.

There i could steal some nice pots and blinds from time to time and hold my stack. While I was already thinking "Can I make it to the FT?" - I suddely was already there! ♠_cool:♠_thumbsup: It was at the FT when I became card-dead and due to increasing blinds I turned into a midstack. More and more people busted (or I should actually say donked away their stacks) and I found myself among the last 4 players. It was there where I turned into a shortie and had to somehow survive (card-dead). Another player busted and among the last 3 players I was the shortest stack. And to my left there was a no-fold-button maniac! Aw! Couldn´t even steal his/her BB - he/she called every sh!t. This came then to my advantage when I observed this player closely and could figure out his/her bluffing/betting pattern. So I knew I can call him/her down with also very mediocre hands and this Villain (and double suited kings) helped me to double up my stack twice. This Villain also helped me to become runner-up cause, as expected from a no-fold-button maniac, he/she donked away his/her stack and I found myself HU.

As my regular readers know: I JUST SUCK AT HEADS-UP!!!

I had a way shorter stack anyway and couldn´t hit a f.... flop! So, eventually took 2nd place for about 36 $ and come out with a nice winning yesterday!

Built a little BR on Party now, from 20 $ to 200 $, mostly with PLO. ♠_cool:♠_biggrin:♠_thumbsup:

Okay, we had a terrible heat wave this week! The heat ended yesterday. Phew, I´m so glad. I had pretty high work load and this heat totally exhaused me. But not only the heat but especially the customers from hell!!!

It was already difficult to do my work properly when its 36°C outside, but hey! Murphys law! Of course this week I had also customers from hell, pestering me with some additional requests, questions, some mental problems. :f_ugly::f_ugly: Yes, mental problems! Being a ghostwriter also means being a psychologist sometimes! :rage::facepalm: Further, there are clients, who just don´t give you the information you actually need to do the work properly, so I have to pester them to PLEASE PLEASE send me the data/charts/literature....whatever. :facepalm::rage:

One of them finally sent me his tables and data which were that chaotic, so that I had to call him and ask him questions, what on earth all those chaotic numbers and charts should mean now?! The absolute highlight of this week was exactly this customer who answered: "Mhm...find out! I actually don´t really know what I did there.....!!!!"

Okay, so then: Happy puzzle solving with Prim (and pestering this person even more).

What else goes on in my life? A lot of tennis, some nice social life and wrecked nerves. :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

So not much poker at the moment, tomorrow I can´t grind, cause gonna compete in tennis.

Next week should be a bit easier, the heat wave is gone, I am able to work at my usual high speed now. Aaaaaw, TGIF! :facepalm::banana:

TGIF indeed - though it's more like OCIF (oh crap, it's Friday) for me, since I mostly work on the weekends, as you know. But I'm just as glad as you about the end of the heat wave.

And of course when your customer adds extra work to a previously-agreed total, you smile coyly and say, "It would be best if you figure it out, as my rate is 60 € per hour, and it could get much too expensive for you if I did it"
