We call the root part "beets" but we eat the tops as well, calling them "beet greens"

I totally messed up -- I didn't notice that we now have less than 16 hours of daylight here.
15:48 minutes.
How could I have been so inattentive?

I hope no-one cares

Had a lovely dinner at a local restaurant last night.

A little troll told me that it's banhauser to serve chicken with prawns.

People liked it, though.

Does anyone agree with that troll?

A lot of Banhauser combos sound weird but taste good.
Sardines and cheese sauce on toast comes to mind.

Some sound good but taste weird.
Cranberry juice and milk for example.
Oh wait, that doesn't even sound good...

How about something classic?

Doesn´t have to be anything Banhauser or complicated to have a good vegetarian day. Just some spaghetti with tomato sauce. :f_biggrin::f_ugly:

I think spaghetti with tomato sauce is pretty banhauser, actually... :f_grin:

By which I mean, in this case, that I don't like it.

:f_biggrin: Seriously, though, plain tomato sauce is a no-go. There needs to be something else in it, at least some cream.

This one, for example, should be pasta in tomato-cream sauce with garlic, tuna and scampi:

I vote for some spices and herbs.
Veggies are great as well -- zucchini, celery etc works for me.

The tomato sauce is important too. I despise condensed tomato soup used as pasta sauce, unless it is doctored up well.
