Since I was all-in OTF w/ 48% equity, the total win looks more impressive than it is.

I didn't lose quite so much at PLO8 cash this month, so that was good as well.

I played some PLO8 cash after my stream was done while watching another streamer.
I once again dug myself a hole early on, but managed to dig my way out of it.

I also played some NL 10 just because full ring PLO8 goes so slowly.
Small profit there, too, but was unsure about a number of hands...

Not two, either. For the first time in quite a while I did not cash a single freeroll.

I did OK playing PLO8 5 though.

This hand illustrates an important point about the split pot game.
Sets aren't worth much[1] if that's all you have by the river.

[1] SB has top set OTF. They need the board to pair to get a full house. They also do not have a viable low hand, so they are playing for 1/2 the pot with few outs.
Hero, on the other hand, has a nut flush draw, a nut low draw and wheel gutshot.

I've long since given up counting outs, and just going by the look of the hand to estimate my chances, but let's look at it:

OTF SB can hit a Q (1 out) 5 (3 outs) a 4 (only two -- because they block one of the fours) They need runner-runner low cards to make a low.
OTT: they pick up 3 outs to pair the 9, but now can no longer make a low.

Hero:
OTF: 9 outs to the flush. Any card 8 or less (except A or 2) that doesn't pair the board for the nut low. Runner Runner broadway
OTT: a brick as far as we're concerned

Yet other times, in roughly the same situation, we choose to fold

I have become acutely aware recently that I quite often call small river bets.
I was concerned that was a bit of a sucker -- calling with some showdown value, most of the time, but sometimes I would call even when all I could beat was a bluff. According to PT4, my "river call efficiency" is greater than 1 and less than 2 -- which is the "ideal" range (at least as far as I can tell)

In this hand I called the turn bet and call because I thought I had sufficient equity to do so, but insufficient equity to raise.

On the river though, I don't have the nuts -- and to call a pot-sized bet with the bottom-side straight is frequently a prelude to disappointment on showdown, and I'll often fold.

Perhaps opponent had noticed that I fold too much (though I don't think I do).
Perhaps he though that neither of the other two players showed significant strength.

I made some $ back in NL 10 today.
I played it as a side game to the $22 WCOOP HORSE
I intended to play exquisitely tight, and did so, but ended up getting some decent hands, so ended up playing 22/16

888 has somehow mucked things up so that when you fold your hand, the cards still display as if they're live.

I emailed support, and got back a lovely reply telling me how to re-install 888
The instructions were flawed.

On installation though, the problem persists.

It is difficult enough to play multiple tables and several other tasks at once without having to look up and wonder if you're still in the hand or not.

I'll play very little until this is fixed.

The problem with the mucked card display has been fixed. It took a couple of updates to get it right

Very little activity this week due to real life, WCOOP and the mucked card problem, which made for some mistakes when playing on 888

[1] Week numbers are done in the European style: the week starts on Monday, and week 1 is the first week of the year with a Thursday in it.

It is hard to believe, but my 888 bankroll actually increased by $49.12 in August.

I knew I had the nut low, but the board is now rainbow, so I guess it is now the open-ender the makes it so high.
I was actually angling for a fold, since there are no flush draws for anyone, and since I have an open-ender, very few worse hands will call.
Other nut lows might, and we may end up splitting (and thus both losing to rake) unless my straight hits.

Opponent has the set though, so folding is very difficult

I played very little poker this week since I was helping my brother move, but we had some good results.
The astute among you will notice that the difference between this week's today and last week's total is more than the sum of the tournament and cash amounts.

This is either due to playing tournaments without the tracker running, or from a glitch where the tracker fails to record some hands properly.
