...we started with a nice traffic, two tables plo5, one table plo2 and one table plo10 (and tiny little mini-profit).

I just have no idea, how to look up how many hands you played on Partypoker. :f_o: Will have to figure out, how to count hands on Party? :f_o:

When you think that it´s finally time that you get the best hand ....

..you get what you deserve. After a long card-dead phase today, I couldn´t let go of my ss acies on PLO10. Well, almost! But almost too late. This stupid call costed me 4 €. As already pointed out: My todays session went very much card-dead with completely missed flops. That can get on ones nerves! I must be very careful with those phases, because the temptation is big to get some action and money and then misplay my hand.

So, I got what I deserved: one stack down. :f_ugly:

Okay, the hand was really horribly played :rage:

It was him, who totally misplayed the acies: :mdr::sifflote:

The session saver!

Played PLO10 and PLO5 on Party again. Traffic was very poor, so decided to resort to MTT and registered to the 1.10 $ PLO8 Bounty Hunter. CG went well at the beginning and just the very last hand, I unfortunately lost a stack with AAKJss (pair & overpair on the flop in 3-bet pot) vs combo draw. Villain got there on the river. Would have been one stack down if ........

....yeees, if there hadn´t been the PLO8 Bounty Hunter. Could make it to the final table and place 3rd! _cool:_thumbsup:

My CG losses were made up and could finish break-evenish with a tiny little profit. PLO8 was definitely the session saver today.

You seem to be quite skilled at those PLO8 tournies, a lot of good cashes so far. Maybe something to look into?

Sure! That´s why I play on Party. There are lots of PLO8 tourneys. Will play more of those for sure!

I didn't know that.
Maybe I should check out Party again.
It has been a long, long time since they did their changes that annoyed me, maybe it is time to get over it

Usually in PLO or PLO8 there are no antes — even in tournaments.
Is PartyPoker different?

Vorpal, there is a PLO or PLO8-MTT every half hour or every hour. This is why I got over my anger of the bad customer service on Party and returned there. They are very PLO-friendly  I think Party has the most opportunities for PLO- players.

Yes, antes in every Omaha tourney on party and GG. Antes don't count to the size of the pot preflop.

Stars started to include antes on most of PLO tourneys and antes count to the size of the pot there.

Open limping is a thing ;)

I hadn't noticed that yet.
I pretty much play the PLO8 tournaments, and either they aren't there, or I just didn't notice — both quite possible

My schedule and a poker free day

I slowly figured out my poker schedule during off-season:

Monday- Wednesday: Cash Games (resort to MTT if low traffic)
Thursday: poker free
Friday - Sunday: MTT-Weekend!!

So, now: As I started taking poker a bit more "seriously", I should also figure out a nice study schedule (in progress).

MTT Friday: a final table, two ITMs and a mini-CG session

Weekend is MTT time! Played a little CG besides anyway.

Played:
1.10 $ PLO8 Bounty Hunter: ITM, one KO, only 17th place
2.20 $ PLO Bounty Hunter: busto with top set vs runner-runner str8, 2nd Bullet: busto as well.
2.20 $ PLO8 Bounty Hunter: 2nd bullet, busto
0,55 $ PLO Deepstack: ITM, only 10th place
2.20 $ PLO8 Deepstack: FINAL TABLE!! 5th place!

CG: PLO5, 2 stacks up!
Finally, some stacks! CG went poorly this week.

Of course on Friday it´s Troll Challenge in 5 card draw (does not count for BR challenge) as well, which went ....... eeeew crappy! :f_ugly:

Very well done! :f_drink: Still very promising results in those PLO8 tournaments. The way you're playing, it might be a good idea to bring your brown pants whenever you reg them.

Early MTT grinding and two FTs

Started my session early today, as I have no more competitions or anything, decided to play a little afternoon-session, after a little study in the morning.

0,55 $ PLO8 classic (8-max): final table 7th place
0,22 $ PLO Bounty Hunter: ITM 11th place (no KO)
1.10 $ PLO8 Bounty Hunter: ITM 17th place (one KO)
2.20 $ PLO Bounty Hunter: final table 3rd place (one KO)

Not exactly that happy with my 3rd place in the PLO Bounty Hunter, but okay. Min-cashed in the little 0,22 $ PLO Bounty Hunter, which I used for practice. Could also KO only two people altogether, but nevertheless, a nice profit, cannot complain.

Week 1 recap

Today, I´m too tired to play poker, except for the HORSE race in the Troll Challenge. So, I decided to give you for every week of my BR challenge a little review while I reflect my poker week.

Week 1

*Established a nice poker schedule for me, a good balance between MTTs and CG
*MTT went suprisingly well with a lot of cashes and even a couple of final tables
*CG unfortunately, on the other hand, went very poorly
*This was due to bad play (overplaying overpairs) and also some bad luck (totally missed flops)
*The BR challenge gives me some extra motivation but does not put me under pressure
*Working on my Mental Game, my tennis coach gave me great advices (it´s for tennis but it´s working in poker as well)
* Still figuring out a good study schedule for me, but found, that Saturday morning is a good time to do a bit of study work
*Plan to do a couple of small study sessions during the week, don´t know exactly on which days, but it will be Thursday and Saturday for sure
*Will do more but small study sessions
*Noticed that I have to get into it again after a long time of absence from the table, laziness and sloppiness

And what are the results of my this weeks efforts? You will see........... tomorrow.

Any recommendations for Omaha mtts on different sites? Thought about trying those at some point. Probably pretty wild plays in small stake games.

Ghale, PartyPoker is definitely the way to go for PLO-MTTs. Haven´t seen that many on other sites, Pokerstars also offers some. The small stakes PLO-MTTs shouldn´t be a problem to beat, many many not exactly great players there. :f_ugly:
