This is it!
The last day of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
(Lazza — get ready for summer!)
OK this is a bit early.
The solstice isn't for another 25 minutes, but I'm off to go visit my brother today, and don't want to hang around.
So Happy Solstice
Had a great trip out to see my brother — 1 hour and ten minutes to get there, 3 hours and 20 minutes to get home.
No accidents, just volume
OK major shopping trip today.
SWMBO gave me a rather long list — plus I have my own stuff todo.
Ewww
It's snowing.
If it sticks around until tomorrow, we'll have the first White Christmas in ages.
Oh — and I forgot to mention this yesterday. 3 out of the 4 highways that connect us to the rest of the world are now open.
Two of them for commercial — or essential — traffic only.
I bought some fancy-pants coffee for our Christmas enjoyment.

In Germany, December 24th is not only commonly considered part of Christmas, but usually even seen as the "main event" of it, so even if it doesn't stick around, you did have "Weiße Weihnachten" in a way.
Well, speaking of which...
It seemed hard to believe, but we did have a White Christmas this year. At least white-ish.

There isn't as much snow left as earlier today, and I don't think it will stay for long, but I'm still surprised - that's pretty much the first sign of snow over here this season. There was some frost this month, but not really any snow.
Lovely stuff, now that's what I call a White Christmas. ![]()
Just lost pretty badly playing Monopoly with our Christmas guests, btw.
Was lots of fun, though, haven't played it in decades.
Christmas Menu at Harrier's
December 24th: Salmon and creamy spinach in a puff pastry, served with a rice mixture and sauce made from fish stock. A Christmas Eve tradition at my place.

December 25th: KFC, after a Japanese tradition which became a custom at my place too.

December 26th: Beef Stroganoff with peas and duchess potatoes.

I drove the grandkids home today — the car performed well in -10C weather, on slippery roads
it is -14C outside today
It will stay that way most of the week.
I suppose I should shovel the driveway, but I've done the walks, and in a week or so the rain will take care of the rest.
Now if it really snows, I'm screwed[1] , but I'll worry about that later
