I'm actually not sure what the difference is, but flopping two pair on a dry board and finding I'm up against a set hurts.
That happened twice.
Add in a few rivered straight draws that beat my sets and I'm now 5 BI
Down another playing PLO8 and I'm done for the day.

I picked up a couple of freeroll cashes, broke even in NLHE and won a wee in PLO8

A single terrible day playing NL 5 more-or-less wrecked this week.
Such a day is hard to crawl back from. The first time in ages I hit my stop-loss of 5 Buy-ins down.
In fact I went past it a bit, and realized I was doing so and stopped when I had won a couple of hands.

so called because when two players have a wheel, they split the pot — they both have a 5432A for low, and A2345 for the high hand. If one of them has a six though, that player gets 3/4 of the pot.
It is even better, since if one player has the wheel, they're never folding, so if I have the magic six, I'll pot bet any river that doesn't make a flush or pair the board. Doing so would be foolish, since even a 6-high straight doesn't beat a flush or full house.

I would say, "There's always next week" but that started today two buy-ins down playing PLO8

PLO8 is such an interesting concept and i think it could get me at the table aswell - where do you study for it? do you have some recommendations what to look into?
Also am impressed, its not easy to mix games, do you play plo and lets say nlhe at the same time or always excluively one variant? if i was playing those 2 at the same time i think they would rub off on each other and one variant would likely suffer ♦

I quite often play 2-7 Single-Draw lowball and PLO8 at the same time, but they're so different it is easy to stay un-confused.
The fun starts when you start to play things that look the same — Badugi and PLO8 at the same time can get hilarious.
The absolute wurst though, is German sausage.
The absolute worst on the other hand is playing NL 2-7 Single Draw on one table and 5-Card Draw on the other.
The games look exactly the same, but the objective is the exact opposite. The problem isn't that you get confused an d play the wrong game — the problem is that on your 5-card draw table you'll get dealt 7,5,4,3,2 and on your lowball table you'll have a pat straight flush — see today's https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3305595#post3305595

I don't play PLO hardly at all — and then only as part of 8-Game.

I have read a couple of books on PLO8 — they're OK, but not recommended for low-stakes online play, since they focus on FL high stakes. The biggest single thing you can do succeed in PLO8 is to play hands that can win both the high and low halves at the same time — known as scooping the pot.

Sat out the entire tournament and still cashed
I registered for a $1 PLO8 double-or-nothing late last night, and forgot I had done so.
When I opened 888 this morning I noticed I had more than I should in my bankroll. 84 cents — weird number.
I still hadn't remembered, and since Pokertracker wasn't running at the time, it was no help.

The entire tournament took only 13 hands to knock out 4 players — so I cashed.

bluffing busted draws makes sense if there are sensible hands that opponent might fold.
I might have folded top pair, but I would not likely have bet it like that.

I don't know how many I played, but I cashed in 56 freerolls — for $101.35
There is still one more to go — the last "Black" freeroll next Saturday — and I have a ticket for it.
Assuming the normal number of entrants, a min-cash will be worth $10 — a first place finish will complete my challenge
