Still Trolling?
You guys haven't heard a lot from the Trolls in a while, have you? Don't worry, we are still here.
It's just that Primrose and I have been extremely busy with work and our fast approaching sports seasons. Prim has not played any poker at all for quite some time, my own limited progress in the few games I'm still able to play can be followed on my blog. However, the grindette has recently hinted to me that she might be back at the tables by next week or so, now that her workload is starting to get a little lighter. A little birdie also told me about a little birdie, but I'll leave that to Prim, I won't spoil the surprise. ![]()
There will be a bit of a challenge for me, though, at least. My American football season is just around the corner and will keep me busy pretty much every weekend until the end of summer, but I still got one free weekend left. I have already decided that this is going to be my last season too, but I still intend to do some sports after that, and I'm already considering my options. And guess what? My local tennis club is offering a free trial practice session this Saturday morning. Could this sport also be an option for my time after football? Maybe, maybe not... but why not check it out already, now that I got this chance? ![]()
So Harrier is going to step into Prim's pawprints for once and try his luck in her favorite sport.
Can you believe that with all those obscure and exotic sports I have participated in over the years, I have never once tried tennis before? Well, apart from knocking some tennis balls around the backyard as a kid, but I rarely even used proper tennis balls, and never proper tennis racquets. Anyway, it's high time to fix that. Off to the court!
"Baby Peach"
That little birdie is called "Baby Peach", by the way. Well, a couple of days ago I found a lost little baby bird, which cannot walk or fly yet. It must have been fallen out of its nest.
I knew that poor little thing is not going to make it in nature yet and quickly decided to pick it up and take it home. Built a nice comfy little "nest" for "Baby Peach", it´s a small box in which it put some cosy little blankets to warm "Baby Peach" up. Bought some special birdseed for baby birds and with the help of special designed (there are some extra for baby birds) tweezers I feed Baby Peach about every 2 hours.
Baby Peach looks like a litte baby sparrow, but not sure about that. It eats a lot and sh!ts a lot, having a good time in its newly built "nest" and I´m excited to raise Baby Peach until its a grown-up bird which is able to fly and hunt. Won´t keep it, because it´s a wild bird, it belongs out there, in nature. But anyway, I´m glad that I could save that little fellow (or girl ...we will see soon). :f_love::f_love::f_love::f_love::f_love:
Awww, Primrose is a mommy! :f_love::heart::heart::heart:

Really nice of you to take care of the little darling. ![]()
I heard he/she is quite the troll already too. When Prim showed me the bird on Skype the other day, it immediately responded by taking a massive dump right into her hands. ![]()
I know Prim is dealing with some technical issues right now, but I'm looking forward to some pictures of the little cutie and that nest you built for him/her.
Aaaw, how cute! :f_love::f_love:
Baby Peach won´t be a permanent member of the Troll family, though, as they are a wild animal and belong out there, in nature. Will let them free as soon as they are capable of flying and eating by themselves.
After all the marbles and food on here and you wouldn't give us some pics of the bird?
Maybe post some of them in https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3314523#post3314523
Well, I have some bad news for you... Baby Peach didn't make it. ![]()
Prim took very good care of her, but it seems like our little birdie may have been infected from the beginning. It's quite possible that it didn't simply fall out of its nest, but was abandoned by its parents who wanted to get rid of some sick offspring.
Some time this afternoon, Baby Peach passed away peacefully, despite Prim's best efforts to keep her/him (I guess we'll never find out now) alive. I just heard the news, I'll let Prim fill you in about all the details, either today or tomorrow.
It was still super nice of you to take care of this little bird in need, Primrose.
Well, everything went fine - until today in the afternoon. Baby Peach ate well, was vital, they ate even a lot but then their health began to decline very rapidly! I have to mention that already when I rescued them, they had abnormal stool. A healthy birds stool should normally look black/brown and white. Baby Peachs stool was greenish-brown and very smelly right from the beginning and was very soft. Their digestion improved a bit with the new food I gave them, though. It seemed that they were on the way to recovery.
Today in the afternoon I noticed that Baby Peach got more quiet and preferred to retreat instead of begging loudly for food. I let them sleep but watched them from time to time. Could feed them twice more but that poor little thing preferred to completely retreat and wanted to be let alone. Prepared another hot water bottle to warm them up a bit more and after about 30 Minutes, when I took another look, I saw that Baby Peach had passed away. They went peacefully. Buried them in the garden. :f_cry::f_cry: R.I-P. Baby Peach!
The Troll Family is still mourning the loss of their newest member, who at least was able to get a few nice final days under the loving care of the grindette.
Nevertheless, it is time to move on and keep trolling.
Game, Set and Troll
After a week of hard work, Harrier spent his Saturday morning trying something new and walking a mile in Primrose's shoes - her tennis shoes, that is.
Under excellent weather conditions, I picked up a racquet and started learning the ropes at the local tennis club. Just a quick trial practice session, we were shown the standard forehand and backhand strokes and started getting a feel for the game. Being completely new to this sport, I don't think I was doing too badly at all - and most importantly, I had a lot of fun. ![]()
This really could be a sport for me to pick up once the American football season is over this fall. Normally, we could have signed up for a discounted trial membership right after our quick session today, but of course I don't have any time for that right now. But after my season... who knows?
This could genuinely be something that I enjoy.

Will we actually see Primrose vs Harrier on the tennis court one day, maybe in a couple of years?
I don't know yet... but if we do, it will surely be epic!

We do have some live sports challenges lined up where we compete against each other, so I think we can "look forward" to a lot of stuff like this.

Took me a while to get it, but I assume it's about that World Cup 2014 thing?
Five Card Draw Shoot-out
Yes, it was that time again!
Prim and I were crazy busy this week. After work, the grindette was even visiting the tennis court on four consecutive days, undoubtedly already practicing for our big Troll Match in possibly a year or two.
Oh, yeah, and her competition season is now starting too, that may also have had something to do with it...
This afternoon, however, we finally found time for another poker challenge - one of those Five Card Draw Shoot-outs, just like back in the day.
Now that the grindette has put her bankroll challenge on hiatus, she is much more flexible with her bankroll for all kinds of "fun" formats like this one. Didn't look like it was all that much fun for her this time, though - poor Prim was quite card dead again, from what I could tell. Not the best kind of "welcome back" gift ever.
As for me, I received much more favorable hands on my table, but also almost fell asleep during the first couple of minutes, simply from fatigue after that busy work week, this time with early shifts. At least my cards didn't put me to sleep, I actually got a pretty good run today. Enough to finish with a mincash near the next ladder, together with two bounties. Primrose was not that lucky and busted out after an emergency all-in where she was unfortunate to run into a better hand.
Spoiler

That's too bad... but don't worry, Prim - it will get better.
That´s okay, Harrier! I was glad that I finally could find time (and motivation) to hit the tables. This fun-5CD-Troll Challenge was just right. As you already mentioned, due to my crazy busy schedule, I´m always happy to find some time for poker and such fun-formats are a great. I indeed had fun, at least for the one hour I lasted :f_biggrin::f_ugly:. Happy to see you ITM with some nice bounties. I´m sure will collect bounties and ITMs again some day.
