Probably best hand on last one. Though it's funny if he had like 55 and folded
Another week without a single bad beat! Also a week with 0 poker hands. Yay me! :f_drink::f_drink::f_drink:

Consistent at any rate.
Played 1K hands, lost few buyins. Looked really good for almost the whole session, and I thought "nice, the tide is finally turning". But it wasn't.
In the last 15min, lost 350bb pot when got almost the whole stack in on the turn with straight+2pairs vs top set. Opponent just called on the turn, leaving 10bb or so behind. River paired the board and gave me the boat too, and money went in. Then lost multiple all-ins with nuts vs draws, but couldn't hold anything. And one call-happy new-face decided to hit everything. Calling my raise on 776 flop with naked 6, making backdoor boat vs my trips+overs, stacking off on Axx board after cold calling my 4bet with KK, making runner runner straight, and stacking off on AT6 flop in 3bet pot with KKQx vs my AAJx. Hitting J on the river.
So nothing has changed.
Played another short session to reach rakeback threshold. Another session that has a lot of potential, but lost quite many all-ins where I was favorite or we were flipping. A bit over 2K hands today, running -3bin under EV. I truly hope that the run gets at least to normal when I start to grind daily in 2 weeks. I have calculated that breakeven pre-rakeback would mean goodish income, -5bb/100 would mean barely decent income.
Too bad there is no cashout option at Party.
Couple hands that I marked.
Spoiler

After I saw his hand, I was not sure if I should give him a green or yellow tag. Green means calling way more than supposed, yellow means being more aggressive than normal.
In the hand I open from the BTN, he calls at SB. I bet half a pot on the flop, he calls. I bet 3/4 pot on the turn, he calls. River he donks big. Flop and especially turn is a very loose call, which would give him a green tag. But river donk seems way too aggro, which would give him yellow tag. There is an option that he just misread his hand to 6543 or 33xx, who knows. My tag system might have flaws as I use only 4 colors, but adding more colors makes it too complicated imo to really use effectively while playing.
Spoiler

Another one who was bit too loose. I open pre, he calls. I bet half a pot on the flop, he calls. I bet half a pot on the turn, he calls. I bet 1/3 on the river, he raise-shoves. One of those moments where you are "really...?!" and are prepared to see JJ/TT. His QQ+draw was a bit surprising. Here is a lesson to anyone who thinks that raise is justified:
- Not many better hands fold, which makes it a bad bluff.
- None of the worse hands calls, which makes it a bad value raise.
In theory, I could have AA/KK that folds to a raise. But then on the other hand when I bet 3 streets I have trips and boats in my range. Trips might fold, but in the player pool most players never bet-fold trips on the river. Might be that he took my small river bet as weakness, but still it doesn't mean he should raise. Unless he was really sure I have AA/KK.
15min session:
- Lost twice with nut boat to rivered quads
- Lost vs straight flush with nut flush
- Lost twice with flopped 2nd nut boat vs nut boat
- Lost twice after 4betting to a flopped set when opponent called 4bet with trashy low pair
- Lost with flopped 2p, oesd and fd vs dry Aces on flop all-in
- 3 preflop All-ins with AA vs Axxx hand
Pretty action packed 15min, with horrible results. I played weekend and yesterday with small profit, but today was back to doom switch.
Sick game. Got a winning session, followed by another horrible 30min session. Lost 12 buyins, as nothing held and nothing hit.
This is just insane. Another 30min session, where I got just beat after beat. Opponents call with almost whole stack with crap, spiking miracle rivers over and over again. Flopped 2nd nuts hit nuts, and if I flop nuts and opponent makes a calldown with crap, he gets a split. Every 4bet I make with AKKx vs wide 3bettor faces Aces. And when I 4bet Aces, they seem to hit crappy hands with really high ratio. In one hour I have lost 20 buyins today, wiping out 1/4 of my bankroll.
Nice way to start summer grind...
If the previous runbad was insane, this is now beyond insanity. I have lost 40 buyins this week. I have had couple 40bin downswings in the past, but in them I have also played poorly. This time I focused on good decisions, and even tightened up on marginal spots. It's just so weird how good really bad players can run. There are couple aggros, who have been 3betting about 50% of hands. I don't know if they are really tilted, drunk, on drugs or what. But 3betting hands like J732ss etc. Going broke on flop if they have any hit or any draw. And they are just crushing me. Pretty much all of my losses have come from 3bet and 4bet pots. I also play 100bb, which makes it easier to play vs those maniacs. I just keep missing flops in those 3bet pots. And the really weird thing is that for the whole week 9/10 times when I 4bet AKKx vs aggros, they have Aces.
And if those maniacs are not enough, there are couple huge calling stations which also keeps crushing me. I have lost quite many byuins in 3bet pots today where I flop a made hand (set, 2pairs, top pair or overpair) with a flush draw. Pot the flop and get the rest on the turn, and they have called the flop with gutshot, naked bottom pair etc. And hit it on the turn, giving me a blank river. Their speciality is also to make gutshot on the river twice versus my topset+nfd.
So in the last week before summer grind, I have lost over half of my bankroll. Rakeback helps a little, but if this runbad continues this summer plan failed before it even started.
Not posting any hands, as no one really cares to see a list of badbeats. From Monday on, I am going to post couple of interesting hands (that showcases a concept, common mistake, brag or bad beat) from each day. Also thought to join the bankroll challenge, but at the moment my achievements are going to wrong direction.

That would be good to see.
Played 3 sessions after that 40 buyin crash, pretty much breakevenish. Which is quite nice, as I am still losing quite often flips or when being favorite. I am quite happy for breakeven, as the main idea from next week on is to make profits from rakeback. Anything else is just a bonus. Rake is really high, 5% rake with 12bb cap.
We are getting two dogs, rescued from Ukraine. They have been visiting us few times, and will move permanently at next Friday. I hope they bring some rungood, it would be sad if Karma would keep kicking me after that.
Few hands from past days, some of them are actually bad beats. But just to show my life. None of the hands is actually against one maniac, who seems to play every day in the pool. It's weird how I often get this kind of Nemesis, who just seems to run perfect vs me. And even when I set up my strategy well and follow it, I can't beat the one player. Every time when I slow play, runout is horrible or he hits a miracle. When I take aggro line he either wakes up with nuts or gets it in with weaker hand and hits it. And so on. Bad timing on everything, and even when you see that you get yourself in good spots constantly, you start to question is as you just lose a buyin after buyin. He wasn't playing on my last three sessions btw.
Spoiler

One of the weirdest line I have seen in a while. I open from BTN, and BB 3bets K764, why not? On the flop be bets small, and I raise. And he calls with... nothing? Turn goes check, river goes check and I was quite sure I had lost to a flush. I have no idea what his reasoning was, as he clearly didn't turn the hand into a bluff. Calling flop raise in 3bet pot with air, without a plan to bluff seems a bit strange.
Spoiler

Another "a bit loose" call. SB opens, I call and hit the middle set. SB is known aggro, who hates folding. He bets flop and I raise. He is not folding an Ace or a straight draw. He calls, and I bet the turn. He calls. On the river he checks and I bet, as I am quite sure he would have shoved better boat by the river. He snapcalls, no respect for my raise-triple-barrel. This and the previous hands show how this player pool in general is not as good for bluffing as GG player pool. VERY different.
Spoiler

3bet pot, money goes in and he hits his 13% equity like a boss. One time doesn't hurt, two times annoys a little, constant avalanche of these really tests the mental game.
Spoiler

Opponents are playing with 40bb stacks, money goes in preflop. SB is Finnish reg, but BB's cold call to his 3bet is a bit wild. J642r is not exactly solver approved cold call...
AA vs KK, and that downswing made me think "oh fuck, here we go again....". Flopped quads, turn K is just to show off.
Spoiler

AA vs KK round two, another 3way alling but with a bit over 100bb stacks. CO is aggro who seems to have a habit trying to win a hand in situation where it should be given up. Like bluffing flops with air, and just keep barreling in bad spots or overplay crappy stuff preflop. Kind of player where one mistake leads to bigger mistake, which least to a bigger mistake and so on. He opens, I 3bet and SB cold calls. CO 4bets. In this session I have been winning a bit vs him, so there is an increased change for trying to bully me or gamble preflop. With the reads and A blocker I shoved, just to find out once again that aggro wakes up with AA when I have AKK. But river was truly a JUSTICE!!! moment. I don't mind getting some rungood!
Applied also to the BR challenge, lets see how this one goes. I marked my starting BR to $700 which has actually been my bankroll in past days. It was over 2K few weeks ago... :f_mad::f_mad::f_mad:
Will get $480 in rakeback tomorrow, which gives some buffer to avoid going broke. Goal is set to $3500 for next 2 months, and I will be 2 weeks on vacation without playing if possible.
My my. First day is done, lost 16 buyins in 5K hands. I was down 8 buyins after 10 minutes, the start was insane. Got to 4bet Aces multiple times, hitting flop and potting, just to see the rest few bucks go in on the turn to few outer hit. One aggro just kept hitting really strong hands vs my a bit weaker strong hands and so on. After that horrible start it kinda went to break even. In the end lost some big pots with nasty setups in 3bet and 4bet pots. The same old story, someone cold calling 4bet with TT65ss or 5422r, hitting nuts vs my 2nd nuts or strong combo.
First day down -400, rakeback gives back about 200.
When I look at my results after 3bet+ situations (where I 3bet, 4bet or shove) my results for the day are -120 (EV -120 too) in 174 hands. 3bet overall is 7,5% so it's not that I would do it too wide. Normally 3betting should make good profit, but not today. My results with AAxx was -110 (EV -50). That sums up the run pretty good. In 100bb game you should be making profits with AA no matter how you play them (unless you do something REALLY wrong). With strong 3bet range you should be making money. The way I run, I just can't.
I 4bet AKKx twice today vs someone who 3bets wide. They woke up with AA both times, which is just sickening.
How's your day going?
Played a short session, got couple buyins back.
I also went through some 3bet pots from earlier session, and there are few ones where mental game flaws were present. Nothing horrible, but little overplaying. Gotta put a note to the wall about that.
Day 2 was a remarkable day. Profitable one! Played only 2,2K hands due to visitors but made few buyins. And even run a bit over EV, mostly due to one hand (shown below).

Never under estimate your FE! Opponent was marked as call happy, but pretty soon after this hand it was clear that he was just another *** aggro. Just like the player on the previous hand, but with some fold equity. So flop goes checked, on the turn 3bettor bets (AA most of the times) and this crazy dude raises. I shove, raising less than $4 into pot of 60 for him to call. Tanked and folded. I can't really find a hand that would made any sense for that. He needs 3 outs to make the call vs my range of 9xxx. Naked pair would fit into that, but what naked pair raises there?

On the turn I decided to use the 9 blocker to put pressure on his somewhat weak hand. Plan was to barrel all non-club, non-pairing rivers (and K of course). River was an Ace, and I thought it would be hard to call even with AA if he had it. Opponent was a thinking player and I thought I have FE versus AA. He tanked and hero called with AT, I am quite sure the J in his hand was a significant in the decision. But as he tanked, it was a close decision.
It was fun while it lasted. Today, these three hands happened in the first 10 hands of the day.
Spoiler

Spoiler

And versus that same green guy I lost 3 times with flopped straight in a row where I raise pot on flop, pot turn and river completes the flush. Someone is running hot today, and it's not me.
edit. Morning session was 60 hands, lost 8 buyins. 6bin under EV. How hard it is to run at least normally for 2 days?
At the end of yesterday, my top sets started to hold a bit more and even got some rungood. Day ended in breakeven, and as usual it feels a lot better to climb back up than lose profits to break even. Anyway I am happy to be breakeven, as rakeback it the main goal. 5% high capped rake is really hard to beat, as most of the player pool is somewhat solid most of the times.

Opponent is sometimes way too aggro, as seen in this hand. River was a bit tough to me as he could have A or K flush there. I wasn't really afraid of boats as he doesn't have Q+ most of the times on the flop. But on the other hand it's hard to find natural bluffs for him, as he would also bet spades on the flop. And straight draw. So his flop range is mostly misses and some rare slowplayed tricky stuff (including QQ). I have boats and flushes in my range, so that bluff is very ambitious. Notes I have on him made me call it, as I have seen him do weird bluffs in spots where it doesn't make much sense.
When I saw his hand, I was really wondering the logic behind his turn call. He has almost nothing, and he has 0 blockers. One might ask, "why think about maniacs logic?" but even they have logic. It's just a bit different. Everything we humans do, we do for a reason. And if I can figure out how he thinks, it helps me a lot. But here the only reason I can figure out is that he just wanted to win the pot despite his hand. Called turn just to bluff the river (or hit miracle 8, which happens when he does this enough of times).

Bluff catch #2. Preflop is a bit tricky. Solver would just fold, but here CO 3bets more than solver would assume. Funny thing is that KK65ds is a 4bet, and KKds with low pair is a call, and other KKds hands are mixed. I think call is definitely fine, and if the side cards were a bit better 4bet would become a good option.
Anyway, we see a flop and everyone checks. People in general just rip it in after 3betting if they hit anything, so CO check looks like he doesn't have a flush draw and even AA becomes a bit unlikely on that flop. Turn opens a gutshot and flush draw, and if CO has dry AA that board starts to look bad. Unless he has AAdd of course. And there is really good odds for him not to have AA and we protect our hand. Kind of weird bet where we aim to make him fold a better hand (AA) and get value from worse hands at the same time (draws). He calls and river is blank. I was quite sure that we check it down, but he goes for a big bet.
He could have put me all-in, as it's SPR 1 for me. Still he goes for 75% which is a bit weird. Could be a trick to get a call or could be an indicator to a bluff. It was hard for me to give him value hands there. Any hand with A4/54 would have bet the flop or raise the turn very often and I block those. No need to slowplay straight on the turn. I would also lose to 2 pairs, but why would be bet those one the river? I have very often polarized range with bluffs and strong hands like sets and straights. No need to bet 2 pairs as they would be often called with only better hands. Q9 might be valuebet in his eyes though. But still, pot is big and he is not the kind of player who overplays 2 pairs on the river, so the only 2 pairs that might bet is Q9. He could have QQ too. On the other hand, most of his natural bluffs include diamonds which I block. And I block straight draws with 7. In the end, I think it's either lucky river for QQ or a bluff, and weird betsize doesn't weight it towards valuebet imo.

Millionth example why Ace blocker bluffs as barrels are not a good idea in general at small stakes. Opponent is known to be quite call happy and hand selection seems to be quite wide. Solver would actually fold this hand, but I think it has good high hand value vs wide open range, and to isolate that player. As usual, isolation doesn't work as BB cold calls. Flop goes checked and turn gives me nut flush (3rd nuts). Call-happy probes for half a pot, and this time I decided to min-raise. I don't use min-raises normally, only in special occasions. One situation is very rarely minraise stab-happy regs in paired boards, and it often works really well as most of the times I raise a bit more as value and bluffs. Then when I min-raise they realize that I haven't done that normally, and it has a lot more credit than normal raise.
This player is also at the tables every day, so we have played a lot together. It always creates dynamics and stories for him, as he is clearly playing with feelings. By this I mean our history creates a narrative for him and he will have some opinions about me and our battle. These stories won't evolve to analytic and rational players, as they focus only to strategy and numbers. But these players who don't really follow any strategy the deciding factor is often feelings. Like this hand, sometimes he opens it and sometimes he doesn't.
If I raise big here, it's easy for him to think I have a high flush. Although that probe could be a straight flush, my rule of thumb is that 100bb deep we never fear straight flushes. I decided to min-raise as that creates nice river shove and makes it really hard for him to fold any flush or even a set, if he probed with that. And it might look more like a bluff as I try to save ammunition for river bet. Turns out that he had 2 pairs+OESD on the turn and snap called my raise. And gave value with straight on the river, despite that my hand really looks like a nut flush or straight flush. Or blocker bluff.

Nice to see these situations this way too. I am not sure if he should call my raise on the river. I could very easily have the nut flush, as my check on the flop should be very suspicious in 3bet pot. If I had the nut flush with one Ace, would I shove the river? If I had a dry Ace, would I raise the river? If I have a boat with Ace, he is beat.
Although I know couple of players who could take this line with total garbage, I think the reason for his call is that he didn't think about my range. Just saw his own boat and after flop checks he thinks he has the hand booked.

When I won both runs, I literally shouted out and fist pumped in the air. Story behind this strong reaction is that I don't normally play 200bb deep to decrease the variance. A bit before in the session I was still waiting BB to sitout with 200bb stack and got into 3bet pot with this same player. He is actually the aggro from the first hand. In that 200bb deep 3bet pot hand I got the middle set on KJ3r flop (he was the 3bettor) and money went in. And he had KKxx and I was thinking "why do these 200bb all-ins ALWAYS goes this way?". Not a good thing to think, result of mental game challenges. So to win both runs here was a huge justice moment for me. ![]()

Sometimes you have FE. SB is very aggro, who is 3betting pretty much anything if he feels like so. Hands like J742, Q733 etc. Most of the times his 3bets are a bit more connected but still very wide (like single suited middle stuff). I was quite surprised to see him fold, as I don't recall him often folding to 4bet after 3betting. And the weirdest part was that BB cold called 3bet and then folded to 4bet. I started to wonder, with what hand does that make any sense?

Here the turn call is a bit questionable, but his pot probe looks weaker than a bit smaller bet imo. And opponent is not a good and solid reg who could pot with strong hand for that reason. I have gutshot as an additional equity, but the main plan is that river goes often checked unless he has trips+. My estimation is that this player will not barrel river with bluffs. River is nice Ace, and he calls my bet with lone Ace.
He thought for a long time before calling, so it's not about him not thinking about my range. It's single raised pot, so compared to 3bet pot I don't have that much credit to rep Aces. In his shoes, what bluffs do I have? He is blocking flush draws heavily, and my turn calls with draws are almost always some kind of combo draws. If I have J high flush, my UTG opening range should have connected hands and therefore my turn call with J should have AJ, KJ, TJ often. None of those bets the river. I could also have KK, KQ on the turn. It would be nice to know what he was thinking while tanking. Was he going through my range and somehow ended up for side bluff range, or did he just gather courage to make the hero call without thinking about ranges?

This is from this morning, another spot where I was waiting BB to sitout with 200bb stack. I open, BB 3bets and I decided to call as we are over 200bb deep. 100bb deep I would easily fold. Money goes in on the flop and before I called his shove I was thinking "please have a set instead of combo draw". But the tide is turning, these deep spots start to turn into my way.
His 3bet is loose, and flop stack off is loose. Internet poker is not yet dead.
For the mods, why isn't that :club working there? HH is from PT4, and previously it has worked. And all the other suits work.
Day four done, shorter one. Day was going ok, until the last hour was another miserable one. Lost almost every all-in, and had multiple flush vs better flush in 3bet/4bet pots. And then call-happy people decided to really run me over with runner runners. Day ended -4 buyins which is not that bad, if I had won couple AA vs crap preflop all-ins it would have been profitable.
So far played 16,5K hands, and due to that horrible start where I lost $400 in about an hour the bankroll is at around that -$300. So after that epic bad run I have been breakevenish, which is what I set as my goal. Rakeback is going to bring back ~700 or so, making the week still profitable unless I continue to run bad in last days.
edit: Just saw that in yesterdays first post the pics are not working. Well, they would have been rivered 1 outer for opponent, pair, straight draw and flush draw versus Aces and 2nd nut boat vs nut boat versus aggro.
Good news for stream lovers. Will do a live play and study stream tomorrow (Friday) starting at 11 CET. First some warm up with live play, and then study stream on check-raise strategy on T62ss flop. Started few sims for that, should be fun! Stream at https://www.twitch.tv/kyyberi
