On the poker note, I haven't played on most of the days throughout of the week, but managed to place 6 in German Weekly Leaderboard:

It is not great, but not terrible as well. Given I've played only 3 out of 7 qualifying days - I think it is ok.

But still, the main sweet spot is out there to be conquered:

It is so achievable, first place could be taken by playing 2-3 tables 3-4 days a week. It looks like such a low-hanging fruit, that I'm waiting for the chance to jump and grab. I need to accumulate some BR though, so will play occasionally. I think I will align efforts to the weekly leaderboards - week to play, week to rest. And will do $1K deposit every month. I'll take a shot on the top leaderboard (50$) with quite a low BRM, 2K (40BI), and will hope for a lucky run. Otherwise, will be griding week in - week out 5$ limit.

Not much play this week as well. Taking my time with family and friends and enjoying good summer weather. This is +EV in the long run. :f_cool:

Still adjusting to the fact that 888Poker removed leaderboards and forced the move to GGPoker. Plan to play next week's leaderboard (starting from Wednesday). Maybe will hit 100$-200$ place, we'll see

Yup, 5 limit, not much playing (2-3 hours a week). Need to study and adjust to the play without ante, but at the moment lacking time and motivation...

What a pleasure to come back on 888 and play BLASTs again competing in the leaderboards.

Right away took down 2nd place in 100 Leaderboard for +400$ and managed to finish the session with a solid +1350$.

Hard to express all the feelings that I had those days when they took down Leaderboards. On the one hand, I thought "it is a great opportunity to explore alternative sites" :milord:, but then all those "Why you didn't play every day when you figured out this money spot?" :why: and "Damn, you fool, you missed so much opportunity..." :deadhappy: thoughts got in the head.

Happy that I had a healthy break from the hardcore grinding. Now it is time to get my hands dirty and catch up on my challenge. :pcuser:

40K Profit Challange Week 6 Update

Profit Start of the Week 6: $2238
Profit End of the Week 6: $3758
Profit for the week: $1520

Number of games: 271
Hours played: 9.25

Wrong GTO plays: 14.26%
Rakeback: 83.6%

Week Overview:
Awesome week, as 888 brought back Leaderboards and made my rake-back great again. I guess I'm on a upstreak as ChipEV this week is higher than usual, 46 over 286 games.

My wife went to visit Ukraine at the end of the week which allowed me to put some extra time into playing. Was checking out @PokerSpass blog Spin-Blog from 4 K. to 25.000. It is in German, so I have to use google translate )) He hit this week 1000x multiplier and shared his emotions, that is a very nice read!
What I found interesting, that having 6K+ BR he plays 10s limit, whereas I'm with approximately same BR am playing 100s limit )) Those are 2 very different BRMs, and both work, I've never been conservative in my BRM and my approach with early shots on higher limit worked out quite well in the past, we'll see how it will work out on a bigger distance.

All games graph for this week:

Hey dude! Hope you're well.

I think people have you told you this before, but your BRM does seem a bit reckless. I don't know who this PokerSpass guy is, but I'm gonna hazard a guess that he grinds for a living. If he's playing on a site, which is not eligible to be in a pool, then obviously he's gonna be conservative as fuck with his BR. I don't think you still fully realise what a really bad run can look like. I have lost 120 BIs on Stars playing 10s in a span of 500 tourneys, while having 49 cEV.

You do you, by all means, but don't be surprised, if your BR gets wiped. What does your coach have to say about all this btw, if you don't mind me asking and how often do you get coached?

Don't mind at all, actually appreciate you asking this.

My coach is playing in the pool himself and says that he can't imagine playing otherwise. I touched on the topic of Bankroll Mangement, but didn't get a definitive answer from him, he suggested running statistical sims to get the odds on going broke and set myself a good strategy around it. My strategy is to play as many Leaderboards as I can in a given day to maximize rake-back which means that I spread my games from 5s to 100s limit, playing around 50 average buy-in. This strategy gives me around 80% rake back which pushes effective rake down to 2%.

This is a very bad run - can't imagine this is possible, but if you had one it proves it can happen. I believe, having a bad run like this I would gradually take off the 100s limit from my playing routine, then 50s, eventually going to 20s, after reaching this point I would redeposit to keep playing on 20s, given my game's EV is solid. I had a bad run before with 30-40 BIs under EV, but that was the worst it could get for me so far.

But then again, I had support from games on lower limits and leaderboards payouts that are not reflected on a graph.

I decided for myself, that I'll keep 15K on a poker room balance, no more and cash out all the rest. I'm not at this point right now as I cashed out some of BR when 888 removed Leaderboards

Missed the last question. I had one session a week that lasts 1,5 hours. But then the coach went to play Main Event and we haven't re-started yet. :f_frown: I'd like to do it more often as we only had about 5-6 sessions so far and every time there is so much to cover.

Seems like Leaderboards are down again on 888. They experienced some tech issues yesterday with the client and LB points were not accumulating. Today they are completely removed. ((

hello mate! nice to meet you. im wondering and could you tell me two things:
what is the traffic on 888poker in blast games? do you have to wait a long for a game after your registration? are you able to open 2,3 games at the same moment?
and on ggpoker.de: in spin and gold, do you play with international playerpool (players from different countries) or only with germans? because as i can see, leaderboard is only for germany.

Good luck in your challenge!

Hi there,

Don't know the numbers, but in the prime time - from 18:00 - 02:00 on working days there are no problems with games on all levels. 50s and 100s might take 30s-1m to start. Outside of prime time 50s and 100s are dead, meaning you can wait for 5-10 minutes or more after registration. On other limits there is no problems, especially for anything up till 10s.

On GGPoker players pool is shared, so you have no problems to hit the volume, also games are somewhat faster, client is more reliable and new games are starting in the same window, so 15 games / hour / table is possible, where in 888Poker even in the prime time it is 12 games/hour/table.

Leaderboards are separate for German players in GGPoker. I think it is due to additional 3% tax that we pay from each winning...

Leaderboards are back and looks like 888 doubled payouts. Instead of 5K distributed across different levels, now they give away 10K - very generous!!! :f_drink::f_drink::f_drink:

Perfect time to catch up on my challenge. Played a +700$ session today (including LB payouts, that are not final yet).

Meanwhile, I'm leading another Leaderboard - Sharkscope says I'm doing very well among german players on 100s limit this month as well as over all SNGs.

I'm a bit surprised with this result, taking into account my volume was very low this month, but then looking at this graph - 46 cEV is above my usual winrate and actual chips won are way above EV line:

Good times to play poker! ))

Have fun on the tables :f_cool:

Today was one of those when everything is going in the wrong direction... -800$ day... Didn't like it at all. There is still hope to get some back from the Leaderboards, but not much. :f_frown:

40K Profit Challange Week 7 Update

Profit Start of the Week 7: $3758
Profit End of the Week 7: $4330
Profit for the week: $572

Number of games: 328
Hours played: 10

Wrong GTO plays: 13.67%
Rakeback: 38.0%

Week Summary:
Many things happen this week. 888 had a glitch in the Leaderboards on one day, removed them on the next day and then double the payout the day after. They are still doubled though no communications until when they plan to keep them at 10K.

I wasn't running well for LBs and that resulted in 38% rakeback, that is the lowest since I started to track it.

On the other hand, my cEV is one of the highest this week. It feels like there is an influx of new players some of whom are ok, but plenty of them are terrible. Seeing new nicknames at the final standings in 100s Leaderboard. Didn't have enough motivation to grind every evening, so I end up playing every other day.
