2022/2023 Challenge
Review, week 74

Weekly profit 998 €
Previous profit 28 910 €
Current profit 29 908 €

Goal profit 50 000€

Good day Grinders :f_thumbsup:

With that result in a post above another week was guaranteed a good one. Sunday session was not that great, busted all the satellites to Live events and other major events didn't go my way. But overall I feel the confidence to play the limits I'm playing now (up to 100$), and maybe it is time to take a little step forward and enter slightly bigger ones. Especially on Sunday schedule there are good looking events like Bounty Hunters HR Main event for 525$ with 1 million guaranteed. It attracts a lot of players, and not only the best ones, so entering those and selling some actions seems like a reasonable idea so far. With GG software allowing to sell part of yourself easily on their platform, what do you think is a good number for a mark-up? Just put 1.0 or aim higher with a risk of nobody wanting to buy you? :f_ugly:

Hope You all have a good week! :f_drink:

Hopefully you have a nice week as well. Would be nice if you reach the 30k this week.

Your words came truth, thanks for good wishes :f_drink: Some deep runs, couple of wins in smaller events and I finally crossed 30 k :f_thumbsup:

August is the month when most people dive into their holidays :f_drink: Not so much for me as I am still following a busy grinding/studying schedule. However, if you have a job that you enjoy, all year is like holidays :f_biggrin: With that said, let's look at my yearly goals :f_cool:

1. Visit 8 countries, at least 1 of them new to me
January - Krakow, Poland (non poker)
February - FPT Paris
March - PokerStars Eureka, Rozvadov
April - Irish Open
June - Summer Festival Malta

5 trips completed, 3 to go. I have no packages yet, but have my eyes open on many events in Europe. PokerStars are now offering interesting cities like Brighton, Malaga, Barcelona which I have never been to so I will try to satellite into those. Last Sunday bubbled the Barcelona festival, 5 packages guaranteed, me finishing 6th. Not much help on the flop, hm :f_eek:

PokerStars - 1200/2400 Ante 300 NL (8 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (MP): 12.79 BB
CO: 25 BB
BTN: 80.03 BB
SB: 47.11 BB
BB: 41.99 BB
UTG: 41.01 BB

6 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.25 BB) Hero has Q♣ K♥

fold, Hero raises to 12.66 BB and is all-in, fold, BTN calls 12.66 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (27.58 BB, 2 players) 9♦ 2♦ 9♥

Turn: (27.58 BB, 2 players) 4♣

River: (27.58 BB, 2 players) 4♦

Hero shows Q♣ K♥ (Two Pair, Nines and Fours)
(Pre 45%, Flop 0%, Turn 0%)
BTN shows 9♠ 9♣ (Four of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 55%, Flop 100%, Turn 100%)
BTN wins 27.58 BB

2. Experience of 10 educational trails in Lithuania
Saidės educational trail
Karmazinai Hiking Trail
Educational trail of forest resources
Ribiškės Routes
Pučkoriai Park Trail
Meironys Natural Trail

Photos of the last 5,5 km walk in the North/East city of Ignalina in Lithuania. Together with my groupmates and their families, we rented a house for 3 days and had some nice time near the lake. Not sure if this counts as holidays, but for sure that was a great time :f_cool: A Natural trail was a bonus!

3. Extend Trophy board or ship Major MTT online event

In the last update I wrote, that trophy was reserved for Malta. I was getting close, chipleading with 3 tables left but couldn't win a flip with 2 tables left. Online I had some good scores recently, like a win in the 85$ Bounty Hunters Special tournament. Not a major event, but a highlight of the year so far.

4. Reach Final Table in Sunday Million, GG Masters or any 1 Million Guaranteed event
Very Very close :f_ugly: 13th in GG Masters, quite a deep run considering the total amount of runners. But I've reached a Final Table in MicroMillions HighRoller event which stands my biggest score of the year. Combined those two tournaments, my goal would have been completed :f_biggrin:

5. Buy 5 art paintings
Sucks to be 22$ short of the painting, SvenBe even created a poll for me if I could make a little "cheat" :f_biggrin: Results show that some readers want me to be strict on rules but more votes come in for being flexible. So I won't be too harsh on myself if new painting arrives soon :sifflote:

6. Study poker 360 hours
January - 36 hours
February - 12 hours
March - 33 hours
April - 10 hours
May - 37 hours
June - 26 hours
July - 35 hours

Total 189 hours after 30 weeks, projected number - 210 hours, so not far away. Overall I'm happy with the quality of studying now, made some shifts in what to study and how, and it looks like it is more effective than before.

7. Foster our Homestead
As I am posting from my computer, I can finally include some photos :f_cool:

In summer I come to this place 2-3 times a week, and usually spend up to 4 hours. No major projects still, but it is pleasing just to make the area cleaner and more attractive to view. After some physical works, there is nothing more rewarding than swinging in the hammock :f_love:

8. Reach 50k XPoints on French Duolingo
Avatar doesn't look like me but that didn't stop me to extend almost 600 days streak. With Total XP over 43k, 50k is on the course :f_thumbsup:

9. Finish in Top3 with Top Kickers reserve team, both in Winter and Summer seasons

We won our last game in the 1st part of the season and head into summer break having 3 points advantage. Games restart in 3 weeks so we still have time to refresh, heal some wounds and bounce back again :sfishy:

10. Read 12 books
Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama
The Craft of Intelligence, by Allen Dulles
Father, There will always be America - Loreta Jastramskienė
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding
Process, by Kafka Franz
Die 32 by Mario Reading
Silk by Alessandro Baricco

7 books after 7 months is a perfect pace for this task. Soon after I finish this post, I am heading for the library to look for a new book. And then straight into hammock :f_drink:

WOW a big one - "could be" that we will include it in the BR challenge news :-)
having "only" knocked out 11 players seems like you stole blinds on the way to the top ? How did the tourney go?
I already thought you gonna make a raspberry business instead (quite profitable here to have blackberries, blueberries or raspberries as they sell really high)

PS: biggest advantage of the win? You do not need to feel guilty about buying a painting anymore...

2022/2023 Challenge
Review, week 76

Current profit 94 808 €

Goal profit 50 000€

Thank You all for nice words and positive feedback :f_thumbsup: This challenge took a long time for me, but in the end it worked with flying colors :sfishg: Talking about this Global Millions tournament, there are multiple First Days and usually I play those on Wednesday or Friday Mornings. This time my first attempt on Wednesday was a good one, 4 players proceed to Sunday Final and I had a big stack, although not into chipleads yet. I skyrocketed on Top with 150 players left but soon dropped to the bottom as my Aces got cracked on the River by 9♦:9♣: in a 4bet pot.

The song by Kelly Clarkson "What doesn't kill you make You stronger" appeared as from that point my little stack flourished like a meadow and I reached Final Table in 3rd position. Most of the players pressed "make a deal", but as most of those players were not super sharks, I thought that I have a chance for a crown. I took the chiplead after couple of successful steals and light 3bets and soon I found myself into situation where all players had similar medium stacks. I was constantly chipping up while other players collided and one Brasilian took other chips. I committed my last chips with KQ preflop but found no help against A high :f_rolleyes:

Although no gold, but I'm still very happy with result and with a way I was playing. No I will take some time to reset mentally as at the moment there is too much excitement for an effective session. But I won't be resting too much as on the same night, I won a package to UKIPT London event. What can I say, "When it rains, it pours", just in a good way :sifflote:

Thanks, Mariussica! Definitely worth visiting at least once in a lifetime! Summer season is especially good as it is too hot in most of the Europe but reasonably warm here in Lithuania. And the nature reaches it's peak of beauty :f_thumbsup:

Indeed, harsh poll results worked as extra motivation :f_biggrin:

Holy shit. WOW!
Love to see it.
Congratulations from a random fan who has been watching quite a bit from the virtual rail.
I guess it's now time to enjoy some gardening and other quality time off the screen.
