Maybe the bonsai project can kickstart a habit of bringing more plants into the house in general. Cacti are beautiful too, for example.

Well, speaking of peppers and chilis - I think we went slightly overboard with those .....
These are the peppers (and two cauliflowers Romanesco) in my office. They are in their final pots now before they will move outside in May.
There are more peppers in the living room ...

And here are the herbs: Coriander, sage and oregano
Pre-cultivating is not mandatory with these but I wanted to be on the safe side with those, espeically with the oregano. The oregano seeds need light for germination with can be pretty tricky if you sow them directly on the field (wind, birds, etc.). Coriander is normally no big deal, but last year I forgot the sage, so this time I wanted to be on the safe side. Coriander is one of my absolute favorite herbs and I want a BIG harvest!
I usually struggle with the seeds which need light for germination, like oregano, strawberry and some salads, they are a pain in the bum bum.
The gardening news sure are exciting, and if we are lucky, we may even get the bonsai seeds this weekend already. But besides that... we do sometimes play some poker here too, you know. 
Badugi didn't hold up when it matters, only earning a $1 bounty, but 2-7 Single Draw went a little better. The cash may be modest, but if I am not mistaken, this should have been my first final table ever in 2-7 SD, so it's a bit of a milestone nonetheless.
As you can see in the chip graph, I didn't run all that great at the FT. It wasn't just about being card dead, it was also about receiving good draws which didn't materialize, leading to hands without any use for value, bluffing or bluff-catching after having built a pot.
This hand had me scared for a moment. I learned in my previous games and also from some basic strategy articles that a pat T-low is a quite decent value hand predraw, so I was wise to stick to it... but seeing all those low cards 7 and below was a tiny bit scary for a second indeed.

I noticed there is this "Irish Open" series going on Pokerstars right now, with an 8-Game event tomorrow. I'm thinking about playing that one, but I'm still unsure whether I should just fork over those $11 for the entry or try to satty into it. If I were to play it, however, it would surely be the only event of that series for me.

It is indeed rare.
It seems surprising though. There are only 1,277 distinct high-card hands, and 1020 combos of each, for 1,302,540 combos of high-card hands — out of 2,598,960 so just slightly over half of all possible hands have not even a pair
Consider player A gets dealt a pat hand — who cares what.
There are 1019 combos of that hand left, and 2,598,959 combos left.
So there is only a 0.04% chance of another player getting dealt the same hand.
I did that slightly wrong, but it's close enough.
I think I've seen it once or twice max.

Yup. I used to hit gutshots with amazing frequency when I played this game a lot.

I remember the "gutshot counter" on your stream when you were playing lowball, it was pretty funny.
I think I have had my share of pat straights yesterday too, and I also got dealt a "Troll House" in the 2-7 TD part of the 8-Game satty today.
Amazingly, I also encountered yet another split pot situation with two identical hands in tonight's 2-7 SD, but I was not personally involved this time.
About the session, I'm afraid it was rock bottom results-wise. Bricks in Courchevel, Badugi, 2-7 SD as well as the 8-Game satty to the Irish Open event, though I at least got pretty far in that one, finishing 19th with 15 places receiving a ticket.
Check out this hand from the Stud Hi-Lo part, where I missed the big scoop despite an excellent runout, thanks to my opponent hitting even more spectacularly.

Yeah, funny. I don't have the data anymore, but the odds of hitting a gutshot are 11:1 against, and I did waaaayyy better (or worse in this case) than that.

Sports Update
While it appears that our sporting challenges don't usually catch as much interest as our gardening plans - and we will get to them soon too - I have kept up several offline workout schedules in private and both Prim and I have plans for the rest of the year. I expect the "Trollympic Medals" will be handed out again soon, it happened in the beginning of March last year. Naturally, I intend to join this year again too, and if injuries permit it, Primrose may participate as well, and not just in aquatics.
On the subject of aquatics, I have plans for one big challenge throughout the summer for both Prim and me, which will, however, require the cooperation of the local swimming lake where I tend to work as a lifeguard, so I will wait until the outdoor swimming season starts and we have received a green light from my colleagues before I present any details.
My jogging times have been a little lackluster recently with me having mostly focused on strength-based workouts in winter, and I intended to do another timed 5K run earlier today which had to be cancelled because I had so much sleep to catch up on. These "Time Attacks", however, will likely be replaced by a much bigger jogging challenge in a couple of weeks too, when spring arrives and the daylight hours increase.
In the meantime, I think I will already introduce a few upgrades to some of the challenges from last year. For one thing, I would like to get back to the plank soon, but I also intend to up the ante on last year's pushups challenge.
So I did manage to complete 100 consecutive pushups last year after about seven months of preparation, and kept up the habit on following days... but why should 100 be the magic number? Can we possibly go beyond that too? Isn't it time we found out?
I consulted that pushups plan calculator again, which was a great help in last year's challenge. This is what it spat out when I entered 100 as my current max value:
Yesterday, I finished Week 2, and things have been going well so far. I expect that I will meet my limits in following weeks, especially since that calculator seems to strictly follow some mathematical formulas, with little regard to what's realistic. Still, it's what I will continue to follow for now until I can't keep up anymore, and then do maybe some attempts on the weekends to see how many I can do in a row.
How much further can we go beyond 100? We will see...

Finally: A Saturday evening with nowhere to go - no "Troll Open", no social life. Last week, Homer and I were invited to a Birthday party, which was very nice. Of course I enjoyed some social life with my future tennis team a lot! But today, I´m glad that we had nowhere to go, tennis practice was hard today, so happy about just a relaxing evening with some poker. Homer is currently injured (pulled muscle), so there will be more "Trolette Opens" than "Troll Opens" during the upcoming months.
Anyway, let´s dive into poker, shall we?
Today, it was mostly NL Holdem time: We still had two tickets which we had won in an earlier "Free to play", so they had to be used up. NL Holdem: That´s for Bowser jr. First, we used our 0,55 $ Sunday Carnival satty ticket and managed to win a 3.30 $ ticket for the Sunday Carnival satty! That´s great! Was not so sure if I wanted that ticket but then I saw that it could be really cool to play that 3.30 $ satty. Even though we were not the luckiest in this tournament, AK < QJ, AK < A8, no AA or KK, one double up with QQ. Anyway, Bowser jr. managed to get us a ticket and so we´re qualified for the next round:
At 4 p.m came another NL Holdem MTT, the "Free to play around the clock". And Bowser jr. got us another ticket and encountered the hand of the day. This amazing hand is our hand of the day:

We went all in on flop and hit our 1-outer on the river!! How funny is that? 
The 0,22 $ satty, which we also had a ticket for (NL Holdem), was a brick, though.
Meanwhile, no luck in the PLO-"Free to play" for Baby Peach: card-dead.
But Baby Peach didn´t leave the tables with empty hands either. We played the 0,22$ PLO8 (15 $ Gtd.) and came ITM. Unfortunately, shy before the money, we made a really bad call (Baby Peach hadn´t had her afternoon nap?) which costed about half of our stack. Well, guess that costed us probably also the FT, we placed 14th with a mincash:
So, no loosers here, but today, but it was definitely Bowser jr. who rocked!!!

Sick hand indeed...not just for that 1-outer, but also for that dramatic back and forth where your opponent hits their full house on the turn first to draw out on yours, only for you to come back with something even more spectacular.

Let's finally get to the good part, then. The bonsai stuff has indeed arrived this weekend.
To the left is a set of bonsai tools, which will surely come in handy once our trees have grown to a decent size. Or if I decide to get some trees that are already grown-up enough.
To the right are 10 meters of bonsai wire, 2mm in thickness, to shape our trees while they are growing. There are some instructions with important do's and don'ts printed on the back.
In the middle is the good stuff - our trees. The seeds of them, rather. Also some pots etc, which we will get to when we finally do plant those seeds.
Tree Number 1: An Australian pine (Casuarina equisetifolia)
Full size trees may eventually look like this:
Tree Number 2: An African wisteria (Bolusanthus speciosus)

Both trees are supposed to be beginner-friendly and suitable for indoor conditions all year round. There are some guidelines on the back of the packages, and I also received a free e-book about general bonsai care.
Like I said before, it seems a little daunting, but I am excited to give it a try, once I have read up a little on this.

2mm seems remarkably thick.
I have some stainless steel wire that is less than 1mm thick, and holds its shape whenever it is bent.

Could be. I just measured one of my coat hangers, it was about 3mm thick.
The store sold three versions of those wires, with a thickness of 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm, respectively. The latter seemed to be the most popular version, and I figured that it would be better to have one that is too thick than one that is too thin, so I went for it.
I expect that it shouldn't be a problem as long as I don't put it on too tight.

Morton and Roy were eager to sow spinach and onions. Spinach is exactly the right veggie for Morton Koopa jr., it makes him strong as Popeye!

The bonsai seeds will likely be sown tomorrow. I have read up a little on it, and the e-book I got explicitly mentions that delicate seeds like the one for the the Australian pine can be sown without any prior treatment. Rough seeds, however, should be at least be soaked in water before they are sown out, and for even rougher seeds, it is even recommend to treat them with sandpaper first, in addition to the soaking.
I am not sure where I should rank those African wisteria seeds, which are not specifically mentioned. They are certainly a little more chunky than the other seeds. I think I will try soaking at least a few of them, I could do it before I leave for work in the morning.
Other than that, I think we should be ready tomorrow.
