Wendy´s got a deep run!
While poor Bowser jr. got unlucky in his 0,22 $ PKO (NL Holdem), Wendy made quite a deep run in the 450 $ Freebie freeroll on 888! On Partypoker, on the other hand, we busted already early with AA vs KTo 
but took a second bullet, because we can afford that. 
The second chance in the tournament went pretty card-dead though, we could double up once with QKs and K.O. one Villain. The rest was picking up small pots. We busted by calling down Villain all the way with a bluff catcher and being very sure that they are bluffing: The board was AQAQ7 while we held KJs. So, not many A-x or Q-x combos left and we were quite sure, that we still got the best hand. Well, we didn´t! Villain showed A9o (while we can debate about calling a raise with A9o). But we were totally exhaused anyway. With Wendys deep run, winning 1,89 $, we got a nice winning anyway today.
Poker stats should be coming up soon, possibly later tonight. Until then, I have a minor sporting update.

Yep, quick 5K run today, and it wasn't surprising that I wasn't at my best anymore, after not having been running for quite a while. I should get into it again, so I won't completely waste all the progress I made earlier this year. When it comes to long distance running, I may have been in the shape of my life earlier this summer.
Also, I got these rings for the Trollympics yesterday.
I won't be able to use them in any of my events - they are meant for kids aged 6-11, who would use these instead of the 1kg sling ball for their throwing event in the area of coordination.We have this one kid who is pretty much in the same situation as me: Gold locked up overall, but one area is still on Silver - which is coordination, just like in my case. He really wants to get it, but he has exhausted his options, except for rope skipping, which he considers too girly and therefore refuses to try.
However, we didn't have any of those rings yet, mostly because even our examiner thought that those kids had to do the sling ball throw like everyone else. I decided to look up what kinds of rings we needed exactly, and found some on eBay, so I just got them. Two of them will be donated to the Trollympics, two will be kept at home - maybe my nephews will like them.
I tried throwing those rings earlier today. They fly really well, I was surprised. Maybe I can give it a try next Monday myself, just for fun. I hope that kid shows up at all, though.

We´re continuiing our Koopa freeroll challenge on Partypoker and today, the prices in the Free to play freeroll were not attractive. No tickets which we wanted. Instead, Bowser jr. played a satty, using one of our tickets we had won in the "Free to play". Using up that 0,11 $ satty ticket lead us to the Sunday Party sat sub-feeder, where Bowser jr. won us a 1.10 $ ticket!!
But also Baby Peach was a big winner, playing the 0,22 $ PLO8 (15 $ Gtd.) and placing 4th!!
And our bankroll-queen came ITM in the 50 $ freeroll and in the Fabulous Winner Spinner. Not a big win today, but as mentioned above, Wendy made a deep run yesterday in the 200 $ freeroll!
So, everybody´s a winner this weekend! 
Stats Time
We're a week late, but let's finally get to the stats and results. This time, we are going to start with the satellites.
At this moment, we are sitting on $108.72 in value profit as well as -$45.78 in realized profit. This includes two Badugi satellites that are not included yet in this post's graphs.
Badugi is still the only format with a positive realized profit, which is still the case after losing $5.50 last Friday.
In addition to that, it is also the only format with target tournaments that successfully cashed at all.
The Badugi satties on Fridays will probably remain the only satellites I play for a while.
MTTs next, this is where things will get interesting.
Things are still not looking too bad overall in MTTs.
And they are arguably even better in Badugi, where this year is slightly above the average since 2020 for average profit and ROI.
By now, it is also the only MTT format still in profit this year.
Amazingly, last month was even the best month so far when it comes to overall MTT profit - I honestly didn't expect that.
In general, the summer months really delivered, didn't they? I don't have great memories of this year's summer in general, despite some highlights, but at least when it comes to poker, it wasn't a bad time at all.
Like July, last month ended with a bad stretch, but it wasn't nearly as pronounced, partially due to a lower number of games, I expect.
Similar story in Badugi, which was going pretty strong.

Taking a Day Off? A Case Study
A few times recently, when I was playing MTTs on Saturday evenings after dinner, I felt like I wasn't quite at my best, and wondered if it would be a good idea to take a "poker sabbatical" on these days, or possibly another one. In order put my perception to the test, I created a new spreadsheet based on an old one with a similar premise, and collected the data for this year.
The results didn't confirm my thoughts at all. It seems like I perform best on the weekend, and Saturdays are well above the average too, represented by the red line.
The amount of tournaments played differs from day to day, of course.
Therefore, it may be more accurate to look at my ROI instead - in which case I do even better on Saturdays, comparatively.
Still, the results may be biased by certain game types being played more often on certain weekdays. In order to get a more fair comparison, let's also look at Badugi MTTs only.
We see a similar picture, except that Tuesday is now the day where I do the worst, which is not surprising, as this is when I'm usually at karate practice in the evening, therefore returning home late and often pretty tired.
It should perhaps be noted that one Friday contained a $22 tournament (The Boogie) where I paid the buy-in directly instead of going for satellites, which are not included. This tournament mincashed with small bounties.
Once again, we should also look at the amount of games on each day.
And finally, the ROI, which reveals that Saturdays appear to be the top performer.
Going by these past results, it is clear that there is no reason at all to avoid playing on Saturdays in particular. I may have bad days, but there is no pattern of performing worse on those days in the long run. In fact, this year's results imply the opposite.
It may still make sense to skip a certain day per week, if nothing else to allow me to catch up on sleep during the work week. Possible weekdays could be Wednesday, since it's right in the middle, or Tuesday, to rest after karate practice. I will see what works best for me.

Yes, and there should also be more players, and therefore bigger fields and bigger prize pools.
A couple of ITMs ...
...for Wendy today on 888! Didn´t play on Party, didn´t feel like playing long hours of MTTs, but some of those short hyper-turbos were just fine! So, today, only Wendy was playing and got us some ITMs in the 50 $ freeroll, 200 $ freeroll, the 450 $ Freebie Freeroll and the Fabulous Spinner Winner! Don´t know how much, lost track, but we´re over 17 € now!
No Trollympics today. Bad weather, I guess. I still made the trip there, and waited for a while, but it seemed like no one else bothered to show up in the rain. At least I had the youth soccer team to keep me company, they were practicing that day, as usual. I still would have liked to at least give those throwing rings away.
Badugi seemed like a similar story. Good hands early on, I keep playing until after midnight, and in the end, I brick shortly before ITM, so the wait was for nothing too. It didn't help that I started falling asleep in the middle of the game again... you can probably guess just about when this started happening:
I'm supposed to do another biceps workout tonight, but I guess I better amend my plans for this week.
That's new, isn't it? That bit of info about the prizes for 1st and 2nd place when you get to the heads-up phase? It's quite convenient, though.
But does anyone know how to get rid of those emoticons when you click on your own avatar, which are also new? I already hated them on GGpoker.
Anyway, we missed the big score, unfortunately. Maybe I should have shoved that one good 3-card hand before, when I had a decent chiplead. My opponent made a big raise, which could have been genuine, or possibly either a desperation move or a tricky bluff. Doesn't matter in the end - if it had backfired, I likely would have told myself afterwards that I never should have called. No use in Monday-morning quarterbacking, especially not on a Thursday.
And yes, I fell asleep a few times again in that tournament. 
One time, it even happened in the middle of a hand, after the first draw. Woke up in time to double-up, thanks to that notification sound.
With a little more sleep in my nightly schedule, maybe I will ship my next tourney instead.

I'd offer you a free drink on the house, but apart from the fact that you are a fair bit away, drinks are free for visitors anyway.
Slow week when it comes to poker. There hasn't been any at all this weekend either. I have been on some family visits, and otherwise had a lot of "housekeeping" to do. So it's a good thing that one of the two games I managed to play this week had such a good result.
Not sure how things will go next week. There are up to two more Trollympics meetups this year, with a possible additional aquatic event at any point, even though it wouldn't influence my overall rating anymore. Next one would be tomorrow, unless the weather ruins it again. So we are just about done with that one too.
Yeah... not much to say, really. Stay safe, people. Maybe we will get another FT or two next week again.
