There's actually a bunch of people who don't get along with it here. We like the holiday, go to the beach, chill out and all... but going into the middle of the crowd and enjoying that chaos is certainly not my style!
Everybody likes the holiday, but some don't like the disorder. That's it. I'm a 60yo guy on a 26yo body! ♠_cool:
haha, I love chaos
at least for a limited period of time ![]()
I'm having trouble getting my HUD to work on FR on Partypoker. It sits in the right place on 2 tables or so but then on the rest it won't.
I'm so not a technical person. Anybody had similar problems, and if so how did you solve them???

- Mission grind in Romania!

As of last week, Gabinr1 joined the group of players who are aiming to go to Brazil in the early 2012. Apart from the sun and lovely location, we are of course looking forward to living with other pokerplayers and support, push, help and motivate each other on the journey.
What stops us from going now, is the fact that our bankrolls aren't yet at a comfortable size. Since we have planned on going in Jan-Feb next year, we thought it would be a good idea to help each other reach the point we need to be at.
That is why we have decided to make a grindzone out of Gabi's appartement! (you can find Gabi's blog here) Meaning, I will fly over to Romania and spend 2,5 months there. It's a good opperunity to see what it's like living with pokerplayers, on a closer distance than half way cross the world. I'll most likely be going mid-end September, and go back home in mid December for spending Christmas and some additional time with family and friends before I ditch europe for south america.
Anyway. We're looking for a 3rd player to join us! The more the merrier, but unfortunately there's only room for 3 of us. We would really prefer another NLHE CG player. It'd be ideal if you wanted to stay for 2,5-3 months aswell, and if you wanna come along to Brazil afterwards that's even better but not essential! It will be a huge plus if you know either of us, or is no stranger to the community.
What you can expect is alot of sweatsessions, strategy-talk, handreviwing, hard work, support and a good time! I'll personally be trying to improve my physical shape, and keep a balanced and healthy diet. Anything to improve my abilitys as a pokerplayer.
Only serious applications please, more info such as pictures of the appartement, livingcosts etc can be provided in private. Something I can reveal is that it won't be anything fancy, just a simple and cheap place to grind it out together!
If you don't wanna post in here, holla at skype or add me at the communitypage!
Bring it on!
Not so fast! Gov just published some new laws and basically any online poker site is illegal atm!

Yes! The same one that EU said to fuck off and make it according to EU laws. Looks like RO Gov thinks it's above EU.
Thank you manu for bringing this to my attention. What a badbeat =( Guess we'll have to wait a bit and see what happens.
So yesterday I took the oppertunity that TwiceT offers to ask one strategyquestion or post a hand for analysis in his blog (anyone who has posted in his blog and doesn't take up on that offer is seriously crazy!).
Today when I checked his blog to see what he answered, I was caught off guard at first. Reading his reply, I thought "wow, now this is embarassing to read". But it's nothing but the pure truth, and I'm "facing my fear" (well, one of them) by posting it here for everyone to see aswell.

Awesome oppertunity! Ill ask something before you get flooded with hands and questions
I know you used to "grind FR rush for easy money". I have tried several times to put in aloooot of volume (SH) but every time I wanna grind like a maniac I fail.Lately, I have been grinding some FR aswell, and it doesnt take my focus off or tilts me like playing huge amounts of SH would.
So the question is, do you think its a bad idea to play 1-2 sessions of my main game (SH NL50) and grind out some extra hours on FR for easy money and easy decisions and gradually try to increase the SH playtime? Or do you think it's strictly a better idea to try to just play SH?
I know SH > FR in terms of learning etc, but SH sessions + FR sessions when tired or less focused > less sessions/more sessions with tilted/bad sessions of only SH.
Maybe it makes no sense, but I hope it does
Thanks![]()
1) playing many game types/formats is always beneficial. mixing it up def helps your overall understanding of the game. however, u usually should have one main game where u get rly rly exceptionally good at before u mix in too many games.
2) if i could choose, i would prefer: playing 16 tables 400-2k fullring like 2 yrs ago on partypoker. such a fun game. no variance. regs easily exploitable. just great for a prof plr. i would play those games 5 days a week and the other one or two days when i rly feel good, have no social or business stuff scheduled and have a clear mind i would play hu nl/plo. for the challenge, to get better and to throw in some exctiement
rush 400 was such a great grind game for me. while waiting for plrs @ hu tables or while just waiting for a flight @ airport i could easily play 4 tables and print moniez. rush 200 and 400 is probably the only game i will never coach (assuming ftp is coming back and games are running like before). the game is great and i am very confident in my rush abilities in that format. i think i developed a very strong game.
these days i dont have an "easy grinding" game. so yeah, i miss rush
in august i almost exclusively played plo sh. thats also why im top 30 in the 250 promo(check the results in some days! i never been top 50 even i think muahah) what a rake machine u get when grinding plo sh .. insane! and the rly sick thing, due to all the tennis and rl action, i didnt even play all that many hands ...
3) but thats enough about me, back to you and your game. lemme say 2 things to u, and dont get me wrong but u are old enough so i dont need to "slowplay" my opinion: nothing personally ofc, just wanna tell u my honest opinion:
- i absoultely understand u wanna grind different games from time to time, fr is def more relaxing and easier to grind for 4 hours straight than sh or even hu. and i think its perfectly fine
- however (and know comes the ugly part), u are waaaaaay to soft to yourself. we are all following your blog for quite some time. and yeah, i know u had education, u had your private stuff .... but we all do. we all got our problems, we all got our schools/jobs/university/sports/whatever. u did fail almost every of your volume goals in the last 12 months if im not completely off. u still play the same stakes u played 1 year ago (and again, i know u cashed out for pca and i know u had education ... we all know that and everybody is in the same spot). i dont wanna mention how my poker journey went during my uni times (u probably know the cliffs, but ofc u have no idea how hard it rly was)
i hear u saying u cannot focus long enough, u cannot put enough volume, u cannot play long enough without tilting etc etc often. and while i do understand all that (we all go through it, day by day), u still didnt find a way to deal with it (and now comes the crucial part) LIKE A PRO!u are still way too "soft" (dunno a right expression atm, but u know what i mean, right?). its a tough business and u need to be tough yourself. and mostimportantly, u need to be rly rly rly rly tough to yourself. cuz u dont have sb telling u u are such a weak girly. u have to be the boss u hate. u have fight your inner fears and u have to develop a pro mindset.
because u are thinking about becoming pro, u rly rly need to act like a pro.
so to sum it up, and i hope my words werent too rude: ofc its fine u play fr cuz its easier to get in hands and increase br for brazil etc etc
but still, your reasoning is off. u need to get to a state of mind where u can grind sh nlhe for 4 hours straight, without tilting, without looking at your cashier every 5 minutes and without losening focus. keeping concentrated can be learned imo. just be way harder to yourself. u find excuses way to fast. there is no excuse. there are only solutions!to end this wall of text: yes i said your game is good. and im sure its good enough to be winning at nl50 longterm. im sure, no doubt. but if u cannot manage to get in 50k hands a month where u play your best (aka a-game), it wont help u that u have a good game for that limit.
its not easy to get to the top. u def have to take the rough paths sometimes. its time for u to fight the beast and rly become a pro and have the correct mindset.
[btw: as always, this is only my personal opinion. i could be totally wrong in everything. everyone is invited to convince me im wrong.]
I am sure many of you will recognize yourselfs in this post too. Read it again, and soak up the wise words. Too many of us are simply waaay to soft on ourselfs.
I thought at first I would feel disheartened hearing "you are playing the same stakes that you played a year ago" but to my surprise I wasn't. Slightly embarrased, but I've been thinking it to myself alot aswell.
It's time to up my game.
A special thanks to TwiceT once again!

- September targets

August is a forgotten month. I failed. Now let's move forward and make September a much better month.
*Warning* This will prolly be a WoT but it is for me to get organized so bare with me, you don't have to read it all!
After having been slapped in the face by TwiceT, it's time to up my game. Yea, I know you've heard me say this a million times and fail every time but if I don't try it again how will I ever make it? I watched a video by Jared Tandler about reaching supernova (thus upping your volume etc) and following his guidelines, I will attempt to gradually up my volume. Now, looking back at what I have "proven" I can do in terms of volume, it looks like this:
May: 20 hours
June: 61 hours
July: 63 hours
August: 75 hours
Therefor, my new target for September is: 90 hours. There is also a sidebet between me and Shevtshenko: his 50$ for 100 hours vs my $50 for 90 hours.
September Targets ![]()
[ ] 90 hours of play
[ ] 80+ hours of freelancework
[ ] watch 5 videos per week
[ ] go swimming 3x/week
90 hours of playing + 80 hours of freelancework already adds up to 170 hours, watching (and reviewing with notes) videos will add up to 7-8 hours or so per week aswell, and on top of that there are sweatsessions and reviews to be done. I suppose this would still be "to soft" in TwiceT's terms, but for me this is still quite a challenge to pull off ![]()
I have yet to decide how to plan my days/weeks, but I'll come back with that. Should try to update once per week (sundays I guess) and not look at my results more then once a week.
Chop chop let's get to work!

Do you not think he might have played this hand well? How often do you really have a strong hand here that can profitably call the river bet? I'm not saying by any means that shoving the river is good but you disguised your hand very well by taking this passive line
