Appreciate the answers, and you are right, and it's been on my mind for some time that I need to make some poker friends on which I can rely on to be as hard working as I am.

I like to seek advice from professionals on any given idea that needs quick improvements and then develop/change it further with my own thinking if it is worth the investment in time.

What do you think about playing in morning/midday European time in order to get more volume in? I think it would only take a little longer to find the same number of good tables. Read that you only play over 4PM, but I guess this does not apply to micro/small stakes.

Hello m8!

If you search someone to analyze your game with, evaluate hands and talk about poker generally I would be very glad to join you. Just to give you some infos.. I play NL2 SH in PS 4-6 tables and I estimate that in one week from now I ll start taking shots in NL5. I built my bankroll from 8$ to almost 100$ cause I lost my initial capital in FT. I have set some pretty decent goals to achieve until summer and I work as hard as I can on this. I also believe that having someone to talk about the game as much as it is possible it is +++EV so maybe we could help each other on this. I have a coach who helps me a lot with my game but we do not contact that often and I would like to have someone to work with more often about the game apart from my coachings..

Correct, I dont even play before 6pm. daytime is reserved for business.

Can't rly say much, but I assume for micros and SSNL it doesn't apply as much and you will get enough good tables during daytime as well.

In PLO blinds, what is concidered a good winrate? I mean, you lose -100bb/100 on big blind if you fold it always. How much you should reduce your losses, if you are a good player?

Or should you even make a small profit from blinds?

Hey Mr T

I've just started playing HU PLO. Wanted your thoughts on two things:

#1 - at OnGame for some unknown reason there is no small blind. A PLO50 game will have blinds of $0.50 and $0.50. How should this affect me? I wind up just opening 100% of buttons because if I check (can't fold obv) then I have to balance by checking some good hands even vs. the most retarded of opponents. Also, versus perennial checkers (effectively SB limpers) should I ever raise? Or just avoid building a pot OOP preflop?

#2 - c-betting: when? More accurately, when not? If I have a mediocre hand like bottom two I should bet/fold, right? On a dry board (if there is such a thing in PLO) can I check this kind of hand back for pot control? It seems like a mistake when turns can change the hand so much. What about a mediocre draw, like bottom pair and an OESD or something? Is that the kind of hand I want to check behind for a free card/pot control?

Obv I realise, like all heads-up, it's variable depending on your opponent. TBH it seems like a suitable HUPLO strategy is:

1. Play hands with nut/redraw potential
2. Bet, bet, bet until you get raised
3. ???
4. Profit

Thanks sir :f_cool:

In sh games you can never make a profit in the blinds imo.

Good lose rate is probably -17.5/-35, but I dont have any evidence that that is rly a good losing rate. Just with the games I crushed the most, that has been my losing rate from SB/BB.

What was your biggest downswing in terms of buyins and how did you cope with this?

I also had this problem on ongame. I started out raising 100% for quite a long time also vs aggrotards but then I saw a friend of mine just check/calling and I implemented it into my game. However, OR any 4 can't be bad with that structure. We still have pos :)
Vs ppl who check a lot my mistake was to raise too much. It's not like in NLHE were being the aggressor wins you the pot often enough with a cbet. We just have to check as well with weak holdings and play rly tiny pots oop which is not a big issue. Just make sure to play big pots when you have pos and play his small ball game a bit. When he lost his first 2 stacks, this checking pre often ends and the spewtard styles begins

Almost impossible to answer this question here cuz it would take me 2 hours of talking or several pages of writing.
You mentioned "checking back bottom 2 for potcontrol" .... NO! :P Forget potcontrol as you might have learned it in NLHE. You manage and control the pot best a) in position b) betting yourself.
B/f is the nuts line in PLO veryyyyyyy often. Ofc, the more spewy our opponent c/r us the lighter we continue (top and bottom we b/f as standard vs unknown and just happily 3b F vs maniac.

1. Play hands with nut/redraw potential
2. Bet, bet, bet until you get raised
3. Keep cool, play focused and don't deviate tooo much from your game when running hotttt or coldddd. Mindset mindset mindset.
4. Position, position, position.
4. Profit

Question has been asked about buy-ins and $$$. Go back in the thread and you'll find the answer sir ;)

Dealing with it: My line has always been to move down in limits and grind it back. I used this moving back often to try out new things and then came back fresh :)

Overall their are two main thoughts here for me:
1) It's rly only a game. How ridiculous is it to even think about how do deal and cope with this "tough situation". RL has tough situations, a card game has not. While I am obsessed with the game to an extent, I don't take it seriously and I think that's how you should treat it.
2) Even during my coldest runs I just shortly look at my lifetime graph and LOL it off. This small little 2mm line in the end that goes down should rly bother me?

Hi i`m having around 33BI`s for next stake, still in the micros, games won't differ to much i hope,i tried two shots before and didn't work out.(5BI shot) (i didn't try another one yet because of the exams)

How many BI`s should i use for this shot?money doesn't really matter here i just wana go up faster so i decided to not make any withdraws until July.I was always withdrawing like 100$ every month or two so a friend of mine just told me that i`m crazy and that way i`ll never move up Reason why i took the decision to keep my money in until July no matter where i get but ofc respect a minimum 20BI BRM.

I intent to switch down from 6tabling to 4tabling at the new limit for a while to adapt at the new changes that might occur.

Could you also give me a top 5 advice for going up in limits? TY :)

Question about moving up in limits has been asked already. Read through the thread ;)

How many BIs you should use only depends on your personal BRM. If you dont need the money and want to move up and down fast, I would just continue what you did. 20 Stack BRM and 3-5 BI shots.

I wouldnt play only tables of the new limit though. Mix in 1 table of the new limit while you still play 3 tables of your old one. That way it doesnt feel like such a big jump. Slowly increase tables of new limits and sooner or later you moved up like a pro.

Even blinds in HU gives you chance to check-raise preflop from position. That can really confuse some opponents.

I believe I read somewhere that bwin players(not sure to your first question whether it's bwin or ongame entirely) will be merged into(not merged with, but into) the PP client playerbase, and with this motivation I'd have assumed they'd continue operating under PP software.

Especially now that PP operate as the PartyPoker network with for example the danish national lottery having joined the network to boost the playerpool.

I don't believe it was a 100% certain and factual report, but it seemed to be supported by previous statements, can't seem to find the direct link right now though.

Here's a crappy picture of a picture of danske spil's client, looks like a re-skinned PP client to me!

Regards,
Richard

Hey TwiceT,

I've read alot about how a 2-5bb/100 at higher stakes is a profit to be proud of, but what is your view on the Micros?

For instance, I was 19bb/100 al NL6. Only 30k hands, but with huge leaks! I've plugged some & working on others. Even though its only a small sample, is maintaining such a bb/100 possible at the Micros?

I don't think so, but I'd appreciate your input here :)

I honestly have no idea about the level of play on those stakes. And in fact it doesn't really matter cuz you should never get the sample size where you see your true winrate. You should move up in limits way before you get decent sample on a micro limit. Just play your best, keep on improving and move up according to BRM.

Hello sir,

I have a hand on which I'd like to hear some of your thoughts. It's basically a spot I almost never find myself in so I got rather confused.

Stats on villain:

No other reads before the hand. I'm asking how do you think it's the best way to play, then I'll post what happened and hopefully get some more feedback from you since you are somewhat in touch with the micros given the book project with JB.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.20(BB) Replayer
Hero ($22.66)
BB ($20)
UTG ($20)
CO ($12.38)
BTN ($26.28)

Dealt to Hero 2♠ A♠

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.60, BB raises to $1.80, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $2.20

FLOP ($8) 2♣ T♥ K♥

As a side note: the Fold to 4bet stat was non existant before this hand so I didn't know he will also call with some of his range.

I thought not checking back with weak made hands would be the case.

What about if I flop something like a gutshot/baby flush draw that isn't worth much? Is it worth checking back in these situations and following up with a delayed cbet on the turn? It seems like building a pot with a weak draw is a mistake.

it depends :f_p:

vs super aggro c/r guys bet/shove flop cuz they c/r/f a lot
vs uncreative nits b/f. you get them to fold eq share way too often
vs smart aggressive plrs with good frequencies checking back is a decent option
