Play hand

$0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Known players:
[tg]UTG1$2.09:///////;UTG2$2.22:///////;MP1$3.25:///////;MP2$1.11:///////;MP3$0.57:///////;CO$1.91:///////;BU$2.10:///////;SB$2.00:///////;BB (Hero)$2.01:///////;[/tg]
Preflop: Hero is BB with J:h, J:c.
UTG1 calls $0.02, 5 folds, BU calls $0.02, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.12, UTG1 calls $0.10, BU calls $0.10.

Flop: ($0.37) 3:h, 5:c, 3:c (3 players)
Hero bets $0.36, UTG1 folds, BU calls $0.36.

Turn: ($1.09) 8:d (2 players)
Hero checks, BU checks.

River: ($1.09) Q:h (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $0.78,

Im in bb with pp of Js, and have following details on opps.

BTN VPIP: 12, PFR: 5, 3B: 0, Agg%: 11, Hands: 100, fcbet 25,

fvfcbet 0

UTG VPIP: 56, PFR: 6, 3B: 8, Agg%: 48, Hands: 36, fcbet 100,

fvfcbet 80

Pre flop its folded to btn who calls, Im thinking pretty weak

play by him so his hand not that strong.

Pretty sure mr fish in utg will call my raise so hoping raise

will make btn fold. I raise 5bb. Both ops call.

Against utg range of

77-33,A9s-A2s,KJs-K2s,Q2s+,J3s+,T4s+,95s+,85s+,75s+,65s,AJo-A2o

,K4o+,Q6o+,J7o+,T7o+,97o+,87o

and btn range of 77,ATs-A9s,KJs-KTs,QTs+,JTs,AQo-ATo,KJo+

my jj have equity of 53%.

FLOP:
Good flop for me pretty sure utg will call or raise me and I

would like to get rid of the btn so I make pot size bet.

UTG folds but btn calls!!!

Turn:
Turn card is 8d another good card for me. Now against btn range

equilator says i have 90% so am not worried and deceide not to

bet to try and induce a bluff so I check, he also checks.

Qh comes on river and he bets about 70% of pot. Equilator gives

me 66% so Im still ahead of his range.

Questions:
1) Up untill now would you consider my play correct, especially

my check on the turn? Pre flop and on flop I think my play was

correct but let me know.

2) What would have been your plays on turn and river?

I know you not supposed to enter result but I think it is

important to know if he played it correct and would you have

played that way? Personally I dont think he did (call20 for

stack size on flop) so I dont think he had any right in the pot

and it should have been mine.

So given that I called and he showed 8c8h what do you think

now?

I know this is a pretty long question but I do value your guys

comments.

Thanks

Hello denetomtom,

Don't like that much the idea of Checking the turn. There is still a lot value from draws and also even weaker PPs. Rather bet the turn for protection and find out where you stand with your hand than Check it. And then reevaluate the lines on river. Could be possible to bet again with block-bet and maybe even Check since he might even not Call with a lot worse 3 streets.

Best regards.

Hi Veriz this hand is giving me major headache, Ive been through it over and over again but I cant seem to see how my train of thought was wrong, obviously Im going wrong somewhere as you say I should not have checked the turn.

Question. Is any of my line of thought correct or did I play the hole hand wrong.

This hand is really getting under my skin, do you think I just got outplayed or did villian play the turn wrong.

Thanks for any further comments.

MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT
preflop if btn has pp then he just slightly short for call20 so I suppose his play ok there.

His stats of 12/5 put his raising range as 88+, AJs+, KQs, AKo
but out of 100 hands he has not 3bet once so assume he will

just call my raise with his 5% raising range.

Flop comes does nothing for his range so I still have best hand.

There is a chance that 8 could have hit his hand against his

raising range equilator says coin flip, but against his 12%range it gives me 90%.

So I think its either hit him and he has trips or its missed

him.

My thinking if he bets it probably hit him if he checks it

missed him.

He checks so I think Im ahead now,

Turn Qh overcard to my jj if it was smaller i bet but cant be

sure if Q hit him so I check.

Then he bets and I should have folded but I called only to be

shown his pp of 88 for a full house.

please help I cant sleep at night LOL

Well, I wouldn't say the whole hand is wrong. :P But definitely the biggest part. For example:
Preflop: We could actually even consider raising it bigger ~$0,14 for having 2 limpers + being OOP.
Flop: There is no need to make it exactly pot. With making it exactly pot we are just telling that we have a strong hand. Obviously against loose players it's considerable although even they would have hard time Calling.

As played
Turn: You went for almost full pot size on flop although not protecting here or getting value from worse? First of big leaks. :)

As played
River: Most likely I'd rather block-bet myself to avoid him making such a huge bet, unless you expect the opponent to bluff with missed draws.
