Hi,

I'm in the BB with JQs, it's folded around to the SB who just completes. I have limited info on the SB but what I do have suggests he / she isn't a very loose player. I raise and villain 3bets me. I elect to call. The flop isn't much help to me and also has straight possibilities. Villain bets half the pot and I get out of his way.

Was my preflop play ok here?

Hello sp3d01,

Welcome to the NL Hand Evaluation Forum! Hopefully we will see more hands from you in the future. I hope that with our help you can improve your play and as well move up the limits. We will be waiting for the next hands and till that good luck on tables!

Usually against such complete or limp/raises without good information just fold your hand. You way too often put yourself into difficult spots. Especially when the opponent doesn't even have a full stack.

Best Regards.
