PokerStars - €0.02 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: €1.77
SB: €2.11
Hero (BB): €2.13
UTG: €2.22
CO: €2.31

SB posts SB €0.01, Hero posts BB €0.02

Pre Flop: (€0.03) Hero has 5♦ 4♣

fold, fold, fold, SB calls €0.01, Hero raises to €0.08, fold

Hero wins €0.04

Opencompleting is something I find an extremely weak move. When I have a hand that plays nicely postflop like 87s, I will check here because I'm probably going to the flop with a better hand than my opponent.

But when I hold a trash hand like 54o, I like to raise here preflop which very often lets me pick up his big blind. If I get called I just give up the hand unless I hit 2 pair or something.

Hi, BaggerSmurf.

I agree with you and do it myself with a wide range.

I wouldn't give up unless I hit two pairs; in fact, I would cbet most flops if my opponent checks (and even raise if he bets).

Just keep an eye on him: if he never folds preflop NOR the flop then it might be worth reconsidering the strategy
