villain stats are a little nitty..

Preflop

- was it better that should've pushed?

Flop
- donking the flop would make the villain committed to the pot so I opted to play check/raise..

could i have played the hand better?

I think i would have made a raise just to isolate the shortie.

just my oppinion

raising to isolate the short stack. it would be around $5. that would make me committed to the pot. i would rather shove than raise.

so a raise could not mean a shove? ;)

And what difference would it make? If you raise smaller and call of or shove and get called. Dont really know.

a shove is when you go all in immediately.

if you raise small and you just get called. you might be committed to the pot already even if an ugly flop turns out. e.g. monotone board, wet board w/ no hearts,

if you shove immediately, you could get better hands to fold. like JJ, QQ

Hello gnawhalak,

Get it in preflop rather than flat the 3bet-shove. Only with hands like KK/AA I would be flatting. :) So 4bet yourself or just fold it and don't invite MP to join the pot while being even deep.

Best Regards.

haha i know what a shove is, but a shove here technically is a 4bet.
