I'm from Liverpool. In terms of poker I play SnG's, and i've been playing for several years. Not to serious though until 6-7 months ago.

I'm from Liverpool myself, Been here a little while, as I was getting into the swing of things poker wise, other things got in the way. But getting into it again, but not into it as much as before.

Mainly play $2 SnG with the occasional trip into MTT's.

Theres another scouser! ♦ I thought I was all on my own. I've never even been sat at a poker table with another scouser. Yet when you talk about poker, all scousers say they play.

I was pretty sure there were only a handful of people from the UK here.

Ofcourse everyone says they play poker, however they're more than likely casino fish.

That being said I think that only the Leo and Cirrus Casinos are the only ones that I know that have anything going on. You'll probably find a bunch in there

(I don't go there, I'd wow the crowd with my fishy river card catching skills.)

I'm not to keen on the casino's in town. They seem very tacky to the foreign ones that i've been to. Where about in Liverpool are you? I'm currently in Orrell Park, but I grew up and lived in Litherland up until a few years back. Theres alot of pub leagues around here, and the standard of play is as you'd expect. There seems to be trouble everytime theres poker nights in pubs though.

Well I only went into the Cirrus to have a look, didn't actually play as I'm not confident on my Live game. I'd probably be an open book.

I'm in the Huyton area, grew up in Birkenhead before moving to where I am now. I think there is a poker league in a local pub around here, but i'm not too fond of some of the people that go into some of these pubs. There always seems to be someone I walk into everyday having a nice black eye, or a lost tooth.

Welcome on board matey boy. We're getting a nice little bunch together now. Lets hope it can keep growing.

There's a couple of pubs in leicester that have poker leagues too but im a bit sceptical about them as well. I've been playing only online but would like to throw some live play into the mix too.

The only problem is that seeing as i've never played live before i'd end up sitting down at a table and shaking like a leaf with nerves and just stuff everything up.

Oh well. Maybe one day i'll venture away from just playing poker on the laptop.......... ♦

I'm from England too, Newcastle upon Tyne area. I've been playing, sitngo's using my free $50, for a couple of months. I'm not doing very well at the moment but I'm still in the game. I've got about the same as I started with but i live in hope.

I've only ever played one live game, in a local pub. I didn't win anything but it was quite an enjoyable experience. I prefer playing online, though, i can't be bothered to go out these days.

Just keep perservering with the SNG's and i'm sure it will start to come good. Keep reading/re-reading the articles, join in on the live coachings by TheNose, watch some videos and post up any hands you might have doubts about and you will improve no end matey.

I played FL 5/10 (pounds sterling) on a cruise ship at christmas. There were 7 of us playing, with about 50-60 people watching. Thats the only time I have been nervous playing poker. I was shaking like crazy, I'm not sure why as i've played in casino's all over. It really wasn't that enjoyable (apart from raping those guys for over £800 ofc).

I finished the night breakeven though, due to playing Caribbean poker while I was pretty damn drunk.
