Hello,

in a zoom game there's a lot of 3betting and I thought this hand would be slightly too weak to call with so I tried 4bet bluffing.
When he calls, what range can I put him on? I guess it's better to never cbet vs a strong range when I don't hit anything.

Hey MarliesB,

I think it's usually unnecessary to bluff in this spot preflop without reads at these limits. SB may often be strong when 3betting vs MP open. Although if you were going to have a 4bet bluff range here this would be a pretty good hand to do it with.

Generally would assume opponent is pretty strong. Maybe JJ+/AQ+, although since flatting 4bets OOP is a pretty unorthodox play to begin with opponents range can potentially be pretty wide if he's a fish. I think it makes sense to assume he is very strong though.

Generally speaking standard cbet sizing in a 4bet pot is considered to be 1/3rd pot.
