$2.10 pot ($0.11 rake)

Hero mucked A Q and lost (-$0.90 net)

Pre-flop I raised 3bb in co with a limper.
On the flop there are two heart with an Ace and BB came out betting 0.6, at that time I am getting 2.5:1 and I just called.
Turn came a third heart and he bet 2/3 of the pot. I am afraid of the flush and so I folded my hand.

After I review this hand, I think I should've make my pre-flop raise a little bigger, like 4bb/5bb instead of 3bb.
on the flop that two heart did give me some pressure and I think i should have re-raise the BB to protect my hand. I think at that time i was thinking the bb plays a really tight range and I did not realize his aggression stats. Anyway I called.
The turn came the third heart, and he bet 2/3 of the pot, somehow I was certain he hit his flush, and I folded my hand.
However, when I put this hand into Equilab when i am reviewing, Equilab states I am having 74.3% equity over his range(if I calculated this correctly), is that mean I should call, because my equity is way ahead compare to the pot odd he offers?
However, if I call this turn bet, i am thinking i might have to face an all-in bet on the river since I dont have much left. I dont feel confident with just a TPGK.
What should I do?????

Hey cookyik,

I Agree we can iso preflop a little larger. 4-5bb is fine.

BB is generally pretty strong when he donks out into 3 players. Raising is a decent option as mentioned. The downside is we should probably play raise/fold as we are very often behind if villain 3bets the flop.

As played turn is a fold. Not sure what range you gave villain but I highly doubt we have 75% equity vs his range. Either the range you gave him was ambitiously wide or you forgot to filter the suited hands to include heart combos only.

Hey w34z3I,

Thanks for the advice!
I think i might not using the equilab correctly. For his range, i just input VPIP 15, & PFR 3.0(his 3betting range)
By this time I have 61.48% vs his range

After the flop, I have 79.8% equity
and after the turn, I have 74.30% equity.

I think I need to adjust his range after the flop by eliminating some of his hand, but how should I do that? What kind of hand should I take out?

The number one thing is to filter out suited combos. So if bb has hands like 89s in his range you will want to edit that so it is 8:h9:h only and not the other suited combos.

Please use "advise judge" feature when you reply otherwise I may not see. Feel free to post exactly what villains turn range is and I'll tell you if it's realistic.

Thanks for replying w34z3l,

After I have filtered out other suited combos,
He no long has any AX suited(as Ah is out there on the flop), and any suited board way other then heart combo
His range on turn becomes 88-77,KhQh,KhJh,QhJh,KhTh,QhTh,JhTh,Kh9h,ATo+,KTo+,QJo
My equity becomes 68.69%

And further if I filtered hands like KTo+, QJo, 88 as they miss the board completely and it seems unlikely he can comfortably bluff with those hands.
Then now I only have 39.46% equity against his range! :O

He is more likely to have my hand beat and I could only beat ATo,AJo and a Bluff!
I feel like this is closer to the real situation, what do you think about it?

Thanks!

Hey cookyik,

The idea is that we definitely want to remove any hands that no longer make sense from the range given in Equilab. Stuff like KTo just won't be in villain's range any more after he donk-bets the flop.

BB's donk into 3 way pot is pretty strong, so already I would narrow his range down to flush draws, Ax hands, and sets.

The fact that we are now no longer a favourite on the turn in terms of equity means the ranges you are using are likely more accurate than they were previously.
