1/2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with J♣, A♠
3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO raises, BU folds, Hero calls, BB folds, MP1 calls, MP3 calls.

Did not follow SHC, should have folded preflop with the raise in front of me.
Flop: (9.00 SB) A♦, T♥, 6♥ (4 players)
Hero bets, MP1 folds, MP3 raises (All-In), CO 3-bets, Hero calls.

Fell into paired A trap, should of followed SHC
Turn: (7.25 BB) 8♥ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls.

Should have followed SHC, now I am beat by a possible flush but that paired A is so inviting.
River: (9.25 BB) 4♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls.

Why not give him one more BB, the pot odds are 10.25:1, should have followed SHC.
Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Results follow (highlight to see):
MP3 shows a pair of aces (Kh Ac)
CO shows a pair of aces (Ah Kd)
Hero shows a pair of aces (Jc As)

MP3 wins with a pair of aces (Kh Ac)
CO wins with a pair of aces (Ah Kd)

Worst hand of the night could have been avoided if i had followed the SHC.

Hi TiltedGrinfo,

I like that you make post some thoughts about your hand.
I noticed that you said "SHC". Just because it might be expenssive. You use the charts from this article: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/fixed-limit/793/ Right?

You might also consider switching to short handed as there aren't a lot fullring tables on your limit and above. :)

A coldcall in the SB is nearly never correct. Sometimes you can call with pocketpairs and suited connectors if you get good potodds.
Never do it with hands that are good in HU situations as they lose a lot value when playing with them multiway.
So either 3-bet your hand or fold as you mentioned. (Fold would be correct. -/AQo :))

On the flop a donkbet is fine. You are often ahead now and CO might check behind against 3 other opponents. If it would be 3-way on the flop you can check/raise as your hand is pretty strong and the risk of a freecard is lower.

The rest is played well. The hand isn't that bad overall as you now know that preflop mistakes can become very expensive postflop. :)
