Hey there,
in order of lesson 4 of the beginner course i picked up 3 questionable hands where i am preflop aggressor and played with initiative. Thanks for evaluating

Hand 1:
Known Players:
UTG2: $2,00 - 100 bb
UTG3: $7,73 - 387 bb
MP1: $10,08 - 504 bb
MP2: $4,46 - 223 bb
MP3: $1,00 - 50 bb
CO: $3,74 - 187 bb
BU: $3,45 - 173 bb
SB: $1,96 - 98 bb
BB: $1,64 - 82 bb

0.01/0.02 No Limit Hold'em (9 Handed)
Hand recorder for this hand: PokerStrategy.com SideKick 2.0.10210.1

Preflop: Hero is SB with K♠, K♦
Hero posts small blind ($0,01), BB posts big blind ($0,02), UTG2 raises for $0,06, 6 folds, Hero 3-bets $0,19, BB folds, UTG2 calls

Flop: ($0,42 - 21 bb) Q♣, 7♦, 5♣ (2 Players)
Hero bets $0,40, UTG2 raises for $0,80, Hero calls

Turn: ($2,02 - 101 bb) 2♣ (2 Players)
Hero bets $0,96, UTG2 calls

River: ($3,94 - 197 bb) 6♣ (2 Players)

3-bet preflop ist standard
C-bet on flop mandatory i think
Call on flop good?
At the turn i planned a bet/fold because of the third club card, any thoughts?

2. Hand

Known Players:
UTG2: $1,46 - 73 bb
UTG3: $1,91 - 96 bb
MP1: $2,57 - 129 bb
MP2: $2,02 - 101 bb
MP3: $2,93 - 147 bb
CO: $1,90 - 95 bb
BU: $2,24 - 112 bb
SB: $1,84 - 92 bb
BB: $4,69 - 235 bb

Preflop: Hero is SB with K♣, Q♣
Hero posts small blind ($0,01), BB posts big blind ($0,02), 6 folds, BU raises for $0,06, Hero 3-bets $0,17, BB folds, BU calls

Flop: ($0,38 - 19 bb) Q♦, J♥, T♦ (2 Players)
Hero bets $0,28, BU calls

Turn: ($0,94 - 47 bb) 4♦ (2 Players)
Hero bets $0,60, BU folds, Hero gets uncalled back ($0,60)

Though the wide range of the button range i thought KQs ist good enough to defend versus villians stealing attempt.

Flop came draw heavy but i c-bet because i have top pair plus OESD.

At turn third diamond came up, my idea was a second barrel in order to bet/fold at this point.

What about my line and the bet sizes??

3. Hand

Known Players:
UTG2: $4,72 - 236 bb
UTG3: $1,78 - 89 bb
MP1: $5,54 - 277 bb
MP2: $3,09 - 155 bb
MP3: $2,01 - 101 bb
CO: $1,11 - 56 bb
BU: $5,20 - 260 bb
SB: $2,06 - 103 bb
BB: $2,00 - 100 bb

0.01/0.02 No Limit Hold'em (9 Handed)
Hand recorder for this hand: PokerStrategy.com SideKick 2.0.10210.1

Preflop: Hero is BU with A♠, K♦
SB posts small blind ($0,01), BB posts big blind ($0,02), UTG2 calls, 2 folds, MP2 raises for $0,04, MP3 calls, CO folds, Hero 3-bets $0,18, 3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls

Flop: ($0,59 - 29.50 bb) A♥, Q♠, 8♣ (3 Players)
MP2 checks, MP3 bets $0,28, Hero raises for $0,70, MP2 folds, MP3 3-bets $1,55, Hero calls

Turn: ($4,25 - 212.50 bb) 2♠ (2 Players)

River: ($4,25 - 212.50 bb) A♦ (2 Players)

As preflop aggressor i decided to put a raise on the flop.
unfortunately villian shoves. As i need less than 20% equity i called here.

Now i'm struggeling, if the raise on flop was right or not, what fold euity do i get here??

Hi BassoliniRNMD,

Hand 1.

Why raise potsize on flop and only 1/2 pot on turn? On this board you could bet 3/4 pot on flop and again 3/4 pot on the turn, leading ro higher EV and less risk.

Since you have overpair i think you should actually reraise the flop.

Nothing changed on the turn. Still have overpair so I would bet/fold. If UTG2 reraises he will have hit his flush.

Hand 2.

Defending from steal also depends on BU stealing behaviour. KQs is goed to resteal. Wet board, so 3/4 pot or even potsize bet on flop is good. Even without OESD you should bet here since top pair high kicker. Bet/raise on the turn since you have a monster draw here.

Hand 3.

Fine as played. Due to stack size MP3 there is no pont for you to go all-in, call is fine.

Equity on-flop (given pre-flop ranges)

Board: A♥Q♠8♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    37.75%  30.00%   7.75% { TT+, AQs+, AQo+ }
MP3    15.62%  15.29%   0.34% { JJ-22, AQs-AJs, A9s-A2s, AQo }
BU     46.63%  39.03%   7.60% { AKs, AKo }

After 3bet on flop I would put MP3 on tighter range.

Board: A♥Q♠8♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    24.42%  20.84%   3.58% { TT+, AQs+, AQo+ }
MP3    55.74%  53.79%   1.95% { AQs-AJs, A8s, AQo, A8o }
BU     19.84%  17.65%   2.20% { AKs, AKo }

Given equity I think you should fold here on the flop.

Keep up the good work

Hi,

Hand 1

3-bet pre-flop is okay.

On flop I'd cbet a bit over half pot as a standard in 3-bet pot. If we pot it we just tell him that we have nuts and he will most likely fold weaker holdings.

Against a raise I'm just getting it in on flop.

Hand 2

Seems fine. Your thought process sounds fine.

Hand 3

I would 3-bet bigger, like .24

Flop is a call on such a dry board and I think I would try to get it in on turn against 2nd donk.

Tahnks for the answers guys.

@TortoiseAndHare: Hand 3 MP2 folded on flop so we don't need to include him in equity calculations for the all-in call - so we get >20%

@CPallo: What do you mean with getting it?
Hand 1 fold after a reraise?
Hand3 fold after 2nd donk on turn?

By getting it in I mean you should re-raise all-in on flop.

Hand 3: I would call a donk on turn, too.
