3bet pots vs same opponent (2 hands - hero is UG vs 3bet happy BTN reg)

Hand 1: 176 hands is not enough to get an idea of a 3bet frequency. This hand is the worst to 4bet bluff with - no blockers(cruical), horrible postflop playability. If you decide he is 3bet bluff happy, AQo is a much better 4bet/fold. Construct balanced ranges and stick with them, when someone`s in the extremes adjust accordingly, what you are doing is random and the choice of hands is not good.
Hand 2: We should be defending a depolarized range here when he 3bets due to our tighter range form UTG, 99 is a pretty loose defend. TT-QQ, AKs is a good example for calling against 3bets when UTG. Flop raise achieves nothing, if you are ahead you`ll make him fold, if he continues you are crushed. He can play pretty much perfectly here because you range is face up calling the 3bet from utg. You turned a good showdown value hand into a bluff. "Protection" is a wrong reasoning here, all we care about is equity.

Hand1: yes, 55 is not in my 4bet bluff range. However i thought it was a good spot to 4bet and choosing spots is almost as important as your range.
Hand2: This is the VS 3bet call range from W34z3l's walktrough 6max series. 99 in even more good since we suspect him to be 3bet happy.

Good point. i think i was very much ahead of his range and did not want him to spike a pair with his JQ type of hand.
So what to do in this situation, we are +EV if we turn our hand into a bluff because we are ahead most of the time?
and we are +ev if we call and may have difficulties on the turn and river?

Hand1: If you decide it`s good to adjust vs a 3bet happy villain ( and we can`t tell if this one is yet) you should widen it by including AQo, AJo, KQo etc i that order. Not 55.
Hand2: It`s ok to defend 99 if you are opening wider, i`m not familiar with his recommended ranges. We are not clearly ahead, he has all the big overpairs in the world, the thing is we do not want to turn our SDV hands into a bluff on the flop.

You cannot defend properly with 55. It has bad playability postflop, and it is not even a middle pair.

In hand#2 no weaker hand is going to call, and you will isolate yourself vs stronger hands.Plus you have SDV and should not turn it into a bluff.

So the BTN has a 3bet of 10 which is not accurate due to samplesize, it`s been a while since i went through Nl5 but just checked out my 3bet when i played it. Here it is:

I can guarantee you that i was not 3betting light vs utg from the BU, and this 4bet would be extremely -EV vs me while i have 10+ 3bet. My 3bet vs UTG was only KK+, A5s.

Now i see that the ranges you play are very important because vs you it would be -EV.

I dont really have clear ranges for 4bets but now i know i should have because of players like you. Thanks for posting!

#2 hand , you are not way ahead with 99 against his range. Although he has 10% 3bet he is not 3betting against UTG that much.
