No-Limit Hold'em, $400.00 BB (4 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($4990)
Hero (BB) ($2910)
UTG ($970)
Button ($130)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2, 2
2 folds, SB calls $200, Hero checks

Flop: ($800) A, Q, 6 (2 players)
SB bets $400, Hero folds

Total pot: $800

Is this standard play?

I would play like this too.

If you push preflop, it is far too likely that SB will make a bad call, because he will still be second stack if he loses, and BTN is a definite goner, it seems, if not UTG as well.

You can push into UTG on the next hand when he is BB, if the big stack gives you the chance, or just get out of the road and make it ITM if he doesn't.
